Gaming side could be pretty unhinged. A bit more subtle than now, obviously, but it was always there. Hell, OT hinted at some of this stuff sometimes, it was just relentlessly beaten back more in OT.
What's interesting is how many people are using their alts to suicide now, but not saying shit on their main account. I guarantee you a month or two from now, when the heat dies down, you are going see more than a handful start crawling back. It will never be the same place and Gators will run the show, but just you watch.

Lots of juniors I've never seen post, lots gaming only posters I recognize, lots of account suicides of posters I recognize. I still haven't seem some prominent members pop up here, the bore, or back at GAF.

Even if it loses a few hundred users it's still going to be the fastest moving gaming forum out there. And I don't think people who want to continue to post there, like me, are bad or somehow accepting of whatever Evilore did. I can just separate the two things. Yeah technically he's benefiting off my visit. But I also pay taxes that go to Trump and end up getting misused. And I've also worked for shitty bosses I hated that grossly underpaid me for my efforts. Life goes on and discussing stuff on GAF is something I enjoy in life that I don't care to get rid of.
Personally, I just can't trust a site whose owner who would blame everything but himself for what happened. Just the way he handled this is catastrophically bad. He gets called out, he nukes the site, people have no idea what's happening and then it comes back halved. As if an OT forum made him act that way and he ignored every article about the situation. He seems to lack any self awareness or self reflection. He turned a blind eye to amirox's shit and try to bury it so many former members like me had no idea until all this happened. And also buried his own shit. And from the waypoint article a lot of the issues with the modding on the site was due to him. Just look at the statement he delivered to the mods about it. He recites an elaborate story that barely explains anything and only gets more insane as it went on. He just ain't right.
Even if you don't care about political stuff(and OT was a lot more than that, I'll miss the drunk/funny personal threads the most), the person behind the website is just too crazy for me, willing to throw out anything just to make money and devise scapegoats. For me gaf wasn't a necessity so I can't say I'll miss it much. If I had known the extent of his bullshit I would have stopped even lurking/posting on gaf long ago. The shadow of what it was and what it's covering up will always haunt it. Just too much baggage for a forum.
. And the site burned a lot of goodwill with industry people already, so who will want to return now with these sort of allegations against the proud owner who thinks he's an infallible god?

Are banned accounts included in the GAF total member number? I'm seeing hundreds of bannings, but the total member number is going UP. Are they just mass approving new accounts? It was 194000 and change, now it's in the low 195s
