By Laboured Go To PostMan, just checking the related videos and there's about two fucking thousand films there that I'll never have time to see...
Why were we born before we perfected the matrioshka brain lads? 😔
By data Go To PostShit's still spooky to watch. Can't imagine during the Cold War.Damn did the guy who directed Wrath of Khan save the world?
U.S. President Ronald Reagan watched the film more than a month before its screening, on Columbus Day, October 10, 1983. He wrote in his diary that the film was "very effective and left me greatly depressed," and that it changed his mind on the prevailing policy on a "nuclear war". The film was also screened for the Joint Chiefs of Staff. A government advisor who attended the screening, a friend of Meyer's, told him "If you wanted to draw blood, you did it. Those guys sat there like they were turned to stone." In 1987 Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev signed the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, which resulted in the banning and reducing of their nuclear arsenal. In Reagan's memoirs, he drew a direct line from the film to the signing.

By FligureSkatingFlan Go To Post‘Updated’ take on Shakespeare is the worst genre of film.Richard the III with Ian was pretty good but yeah they're usually hot trash.
By sy Go To PostJust found out Shakespeare was British not Italian. Always grouped him in with the Renaissance boys
this is a hall of fame sy post.
By Lunatic Go To PostSomeone please explain to why movie studios still release trailers in fucking 1080p?because 98% watch trailers on their smartphones so no need for 4k.
By DiPro Go To Postbecause 98% watch trailers on their smartphones so no need for 4k.I'm guessing most laptop screens aren't 4k either
By data Go To PostShit's still spooky to watch. Can't imagine during the Cold War.Watch Threads
By DiPro Go To Postbecause 98% watch trailers on their smartphones so no need for 4k.It's more for the quality of the video as YouTube compression at 1080p is trash. Even just going up 1440p is a sizable difference in quality.
By DiPro Go To Postbecause 98% watch trailers on their smartphones so no need for 4k.how about all the phones that are now not 16:9 but they decide they need to put black space in their 21:9 movie footage to fill 16:9 because youtube totally can't just dynamically do that
I award Old 3.5 yens out 5.
I did sweat through my shirt though. maybe that was because of Rufus Sewell awouuu
Some unusual handheld camera work. Reminded me of the dodgy one-shots towards the end of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

The Matrix still has the best opening of any action film I have ever seen.

By inky Go To PostI've never seen The Matrix. Not to completion anyway, just snippets here and there.I did not think it was particularly good or cool. But I also liked the Spawn movie.
The Matrix had over 5 years of pre-production, had to invent new Rigs, camera techniques and visual effects.

IDK, it didn't grab me from the promotional material, and like a couple weeks in the people around me who really liked it put me off completely. A fucking whole generation lost because they wanted to look like Neo and shit. It was sad.
I think what made it so good was that nothing like it had been done before.
No one realized it then but it was the first live action anime.
