Brush we are in DEEP with paw patrol, Marshall and chase get the most love.
Is pepper pig a big sensation over there?
Paw Patrol" is equally polarizing. The show, about a group of rescue dogs led by a boy named Ryder, is a regular source of complaint among parents and of adoration among their kids.
Buzzfeed called the show "terrible" and pointed to instances of gender and social inequality that go unchecked on the show. In the Guardian, Ryder is described as a megalomaniac with an implied "unstoppable God complex." Nevertheless, "Paw Patrol" is ubiquitous. Branded merchandise featuring Ryder and the gang outsells most other television shows, according to recent data from the Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association. A recent Amazon search for "Paw Patrol" yielded 24,814 results.

Seeing some of the original cast in Sesame Street trips me out. Gordons been doing the show for a half century it seems lol.

I think size and physical ability was the biggest factor of change from day 0 to year 1. The size continues some in year 2 (mostly height), but the cognitive changes really ramp up. Even the last 2 months of my daughter's development on a personality level has been crazy noticeable. It's pretty wild and awesome to watch.

My child is s straight parakeet
She’s repeated both “fuck” and “shit” clear as day now. My wife and I just looked at each other mortified. We’re trying to watch the language too ...
She’s actually really bright. I’m terrified she’ll be smarter than me with the same deviant young adult mentality.

You doing anything for your boy this weekend Smokey? We're just having immediate family up and then I think we're doing the Long Beach Aquarium on Sunday. She'll get a kick out of the fish I think.
HBO has the whole Harry Potter season on. I played the first movie for my daughter and she loved it. The castles and pictures and wands and spells. She loved it all. So then I put #2 on and she digs it again. Fast forward a couple days and she asks me, "Moive, Harry Potter" so I oblige and put on #3. TOTALLY forgot about the dementors in #3. Open segment has the train freeze over and these death like creatures attacking kids. It didn't hit me that at almost 2 years old, she would understand the context needed for the emotional impact here. She starts yelling at the TV "BAD GUY! GO BAD GUY GO!" I held her close and can feel her heart racing. I tell her "Bad guy won't win. Good guy will get him. Don't worry". She only gets to watch the first two now lol
What Lauren and I watch in front of her will have to be more closely considered now ...

That sounds like fun. Estella will have some cousins there from the immediate family as well. I'm mostly excited for the aquarium the next day. She loved the animals at the zoo.

Congrats, man. Feels nice when life plans play out the way as intended.
BY the way. We have our daughter on a schedule for sleep. She goes down by 8 and sleeps until 7:30. She could probably stay up later but Lauren and I need some time to decompress together. We laughed about it.
I called my mom and said "hey when you put me to bed early when I was young you always told me it was for my own good. I believed that for the longest time too. Now that I'm a parent I'm realizing you lied and just wanted alone time. Am I right?"
"Yes"
lol
So my daughter tricked me into #2. We would have had him anyway, but man ....
My daughter started sleeping 5-6 hour chunks at 6 weeks. By 3 months she was sleep 12-13 hours at a time. We would put her to bed at 6:30 and she would take up at 7-7:30 everyday. This is obviously wonderful. We got to put her to bed, get some alone time and then get ready in the morning for work before she wok.
My son on the other hand .... This asshole hasn't figured it out .... At all. At 4 months he should be sleeping in 5--6 hour chunks, but he's still sleeping like a newborn. Dude wakes up every 2-3 hours on the dot. Both Lauren and I are back to work so we're sharing the nighttime duties and we're both walking Zombies. He's got a cold now and is up closer to every 1.5-2 hours just needing help back down. Dude wakes up at 6Am every morning too. Which fucks our getting ready for work time. He's all smiled at 6 in the morning though so it's hard to get mad. We just stay permanently tired.
During the so cal meet up, I was out until around 12 but then drove home. EVERY FUCKING NIGHT I went out I got home, brushed my teeth and layed down around 1 and the little dude would be waking me up before I could even think of falling asleep. Then he was up at 6. ARHA"GIHA"igNAQep

Her name is awesome because the word for flower is Hana so it sounds spring-like but we used different kanji to give her name more character to it

Molars are worse but so far our girls sound similar so maybe you’ll get off like I did
Just had his 4 month check up. Doc said if he’s trying to get out of his swaddle he’s ready to be out. Said to start letting him cry it out and learn to self sooth. My nights are about to get worse before they get better lol
By Smokey Go To PostI don't believe in that self sooth. My son could go all night.
It worked for me and my brother when we were younger, and it worked for my daughter. That being said I'm not operating under the assumption that it's going to work for my son. Each kid is different.
I remember trying it and him literally going on for hours and hours lol
then it would transition from like the whine to the full blown cries with hiccups in between and i couldnt take it ;_;
then it would transition from like the whine to the full blown cries with hiccups in between and i couldnt take it ;_;
Yeah I think the longest my daughter cried was an hour. We started at 4 months with her too. The later you start the longer ymthry take from what I understand
So far so good with sleeping it out. He's already noticeably better at getting himself back down after only 3 days. Last night was the first time in a long time we only had to get up once to feed him. The rest of the time he cried himself back down. The first time took about 45 min this last weekend. I'm glad we started at 4 months. Takes longer the longer you wait to start.
It's fucking Christmas daily for me right now. Letting my son cry it out has been a life changer. He wakes up once a night to feed and we don't even rock him back down anymore. He does it on his own. If he wakes up before his feeding at 3AM, he cries himself back down in 5 min. I'm only getting him about 85% of the way down for bed too. He gets himself the rest of the way down. Little guy even slept and entire night for us once. To top it off, he's waking up later and sleeping until 7:15 or so in the morning instead of 6.
Both of my children's sleep improved greatly from crying it out and now daddy is getting to work earlier and refreshed for the first time in 4-5 months.
