That's a very possible outcome, but somehow you always find the energy, especially when you're alone with the kid. But not easy at all....
So my son started having night terrors this week. He’s always had sleep walking episodes but this is way different and super unnerving. He’s terrified, thrashes cries like he’s in pain and is super disoriented. Tonight he was crying “stop stop” as we walked into his room. Luckily he has zero recollection when he wakes.
We’re gonna call a doctors since it’s been 4 out of the last 5 nights. The first night was the worst since we didn’t really known watt was going on and kept him sitting and asking him questions which only seemed to exacerbate his issue. Last two episodes we’ve had him lay down immediately while rubbing his back and also trying to direct his thoughts by talking about Disneyland and mango slushes. It’s worked well and he’s asleep in 3 or so minutes.
It happens pretty consistently at specific times. 9:30 twice. Once at 10:30’and once at 11. I was reading that waking your child before can disrupt the pattern. So we’re going to try and completely wake him tomorrow at 9:20 and have him pee. He’s also had a weird lingering cough. This can also put him in that half asleep state that starts his terrors.

Going to get the kid his permit soon. His mom bought a Honda civic that she will give him when he turns 17
I’ve always hated the beach but we took our daughter and she loves it.
Guess that means a lot more beach days in my future

Where'd you go?
Went to Jones beach last weekend and it wasn't half bad, eventhough I somewhat dislike the beach myself too.
And yea young kids love the beach, you'll be back lol

I cannot believe it worked but we just pulled my daughters tooth stringing one end of floss to the tooth and the other to a nerf gun bullet.: Counted to three, fired and the damn tooth went flying across the fucking room 😂
My daughter started this year, too, in April.
She really digs it so far but doesn't realize schools are pulling the rope-a-dope on her and pretending shit is still sweet like daycare.

By reilo Go To PostIs she in a traditional Japanese school? That's gotta be another level of madness.Well I teach in public schools, so that ensured I don't have private international school money 😂
It's wild because Japanese schools, like their companies, have so many meetings and whatnot that could be just an email or a letter.
It's funny that she functionally speaks better Japanese than I do now 😒
By reilo Go To PostYour old ass was never winning that battle against a Japanese born kid, stop itMy old ass never thought I was going to win, just thought that I would still be in the runnings during 1st grade.
At least, I still can out kanji her for the moment.
By Kidjr Go To PostDaughter is 16 months. Help.Girls are usually amazing at that age.
My daughter will be 16 months next week
She’s amazing, but also a menace. I could be having a terrible day and when my wife calls before she puts her to bed, seeing my daughters face light up, that is priceless.
Been looking at private schools cuz my wife wants to send her to one…she better hope we win the mega millions on Friday

Just know, Rob, that whoever came up with “the terrible twos” is a liar who loves alliteration. The threes are the rough year
My youngest is 21 months now and the last few months have been great. Lots of running around, climbing everything, learning new words everyday and being absolutely fascinated by animals. He has really started to connect and play with his brother as well.
Only problem is his favourite word is no

They become vocal at 2 and say no and toss some tantrums. They still do all that at three but with more words and with attitude. My kids have largely been great kids, but the years are still different. Currently my favorite age range is 4-6. So much growth and they're still so into family etc. My 8 year old girl is already running off to her room to draw and shit because she wants time to herself and it makes me sad. lol
My daughter says no and throws tantrums now so hopefully she’s done with that phase at a young age
Terrific Twos 🤞
