I was just being lazy on the couch on my day off. My daughters sitting on my chest combing my beard, when shes finished she says "you look so cute dad!" Being a parent is awesome, everytime she uses a new word or phrase is blows my mind.

Awesome pic Ace. April 25th is getting close. Smokey is pretty spot on regarding gaming. Until they sleep 5-6 hours in one shot at night your sleep becomes priority numero uno. Even still I do most of my gaming at night. Saturdays I can swings some day time gaming in during longer naps too.

I don't think the time I initially responded to Ace was caught. Says 2AM :)
Prepare yourself Ace!
By Smokey Go To PostHope you getting all your gaming in now. Those early months are rough lol
I disagree. If you are again more than you probably don't get the kind of sleep that doctors recommend anyway. Consider being up late as bonus gaming.
Dig through your backlog and find games that mostly require the click of the mouse and very little else. That way you can hold baby and bottle with one hand and click with the other.
I've done this three times. I'm an expert.
I get a break for the first few weeks at least... the wifey will stay at her mom's... Kind of a Japanese thing

Word? I assume you will just visit and stuff.
I still don't know how you guys get game man, I find it close to impossible
By Kidjr Go To PostWord? I assume you will just visit and stuff.yeah she will go to mom's before she gives birth and mom will be on call when she hits labor and she will stay there with mom looking after her...
I still don't know how you guys get game man, I find it close to impossible
but hell yeah I will be there
Both my family and her family helped out a lot for those first couple of weeks. Especially since my wife was a C Section. If you're sleeping in a different environment though ... you will have some peace comparatively

Not sure about that. I mean maybe, but reading that relationship thread makes me shiver sometimes.

Yeah so fuck this lil nigga joking
But seriously I didn't think I'd need to be thinking about discipline at this age (14 months) but he's started throwing toys quite aggressively, he understands no and just waddles of if you tell him, and if you get heated starts blowing raspberries. And I'm pretty sure he just tried to fight me.
I don't know where it's come from.
But let him keep stepping smh

Not a parent, but try not to get heated. Kids will pick up on that and emulate it. Try to do positive reinforcement as often as you can as that usually provides more sustainable behavior.

Yeah sorry I just mean adding some base to the voice so he's meant to knows I'm serious lol
Yeah I'm trying not laugh but it is funny as hell seeing him strop but also don't want him to think it's ok to act like that.
He's at a childminder but it's him and two older girls and goes to play groups sometimes.
To get my kids to stop doing undesirable behaviors we made a buzzer sound like Family Feud. I don't even think we taught them "no." I think it was "wrong" or "stop."
My kids never threw anything that I didn't mind them throwing. I kept all my important stuff beyond reach or on lockdown. Actually, I do have a pic of my youngest tearing out the keyboard to my laptop when's I was writing my comps proposal. All I could do is sigh. My fault. Shouldn't have left it o me the floor.
My daughter DID hit me upside the head with one of her dolls while playing after a bath one day...never had any behavior problems problems with her after that. She was always mellow anyways.

That actually doesn't sound too bad...
what are some shows for a baby? my gfs daughter loses interest in anything besides this one garbage ass show on netflix.
stop has been effective since i read that post, so thanks PR

Daughter turned 11 yesterday. We got her Littlest Pet Shop and similar toys. I later asked my wife when she began to grow out of toys, and she said 12-13ish.
So I have one more year....
NP. I feel that "no" is such a common word, that it loses its power. Stop and Quit might sound awkward at first, but you will get the desired behavior.
Until your child develops a working vocabulary, I don't think that television will be effective. Kid has to understand even the basic stuff on Sesame Street, yo.
But if you REALLY want to try, I suggest Hi-5 which is discontinued. I think it was an Australian creation, but we got the American DVDs:
You basically need to find something that cycles through activities/play/song in rapid fire so that they do not lose attention for long.

And now I lowkey hate you because now I'm tapping my foot to some of the music and resisting the urge to get up and dance like I did when the kids were in diapers. lol

Yeah no didn't really seem effective and she would cry for like 10 minutes. When I tell her to stop bc she's doing something wrong, it's in a stern way so she knows she fucked up but doesn't cry. It's been like a week since I made that last post and in that time, I don't really need to even say stop anymore, I just give her a look and she knows what she's doing is wrong and she stops.
That show looks about right for something to keep her occupied at times. I try not to have her watch TV much (she's 17 months) and would rather have her play with her toys but sometimes she just doesn't feel like doing that.

You need something like this:
Take note at how the baby can walk and slide back and forth when old enough to touch the floor. This keeps them upright and they also can't escape. Don't get the ones where the baby is stationary, because that's not as fun to them. Also do not get a walker so they can (eventually) follow you around the house, lol.
she's already walking and following me around the house so its too late for that lol. i cant even poop in peace anymore
