By DY_nasty Go To PostI should've been more specific
I'm not really talking about bills as much as I'm talking about investigations. If you can waste time with Mueller and Hope Hicks, you should be able to call up some of the more openly crooked redistricting fights.
Hmmm ... hadn’t thought about this. Also not sure what scope / capacity an investigation would cover. Like can the house just hold hearing on whatever the fuck it wants? I honestly have no clue.
By DY_nasty Go To Posthow you gonna get to real far left platforms when you can't even do the easy stuffHow's that working out for Trump?
idealism is asking for sweeping pay reforms when you can't even protect teachers unions
idealism is asking for billion dollar corps to pay taxes in one breath then handing them huge contracts in the next
paved roads and clean water, basic infrastructure revitalization was a key point of trump's campaign - and instead of hitting on multiple issues at once by incentivizing work programs/trade schools to address those specific needs (which would move people away from those heavy urban areas and address some of the overcrowding headaches) they talk up stuff like student loan instant repayment which just pushes a ton of problems simply further down the timeline.
i don't have a problem with the younger leaders in congress, i do have a problem with the priorities.
and people really need to understand or accept that a lot of americans like certain shit.
some of the far left ideas of taking/repurposing private property? im sorry who are the fascists again…
And lol, fascism is by definition the opposite of socialism. More and more is being pooled by the elite and things will eventually blow over in this country, if the left isn't ready to take on the ruling oligarch the right will (just listen to the likes of Tucker, and the message that Trump ran on even though he's done the exact opposite), it's always happened in the past but now there's more uncertainty with the impending doom of rapid climate change within our lifetimes. Bern man has been the only candidate that has made that his number one priority. And all this talk about plans and policies, that might resonate for the wonks but for people in the general populace respond to messages not policies, Hilldawg had tons of policies but I personally fail to recall even one!
By Fenderputty Go To PostSo like something rather than nothing. Cause liberal Bernie ain’t getting shit passed from his agenda. He's not far-left, he's left but not "far", our media and politics are right wing and corporately owned. A big part that is often forgotten in America is that direct action is essential in any movement, and Bernie has been hitting that point in every speech. The establishment would like you to think that just voting their people in will fix everything. If Bernie won, he'd be walking in with a Republican senate and an hostile house, he would need to show the country how deeply special interests are imbedded in the government. Polls have shown that M4A is popular, and he would keep that energy going, much how Trump has done with his base and not how Obama completely shut it off once he got into office. If you look at Trump, he has forced the Republican to his will and if successful Bernie could do the same with the democrats. Voting in a moderate like Biden will do nothing except stop the abhorrent appointees, but he'll do fuck all about rising healthcare costs, rising tuition costs, cost of living, climate change etc. It'll be a patch holes in a sinking ship.
Bernie ain’t that far left because he’s not an anarcho-communist is some hilarious shit too.
And then left the Dem party to caucus with the GOP
When we wake Smoke Dogg from his cryo-chamber, he'll take on the GOP Covenant and all will be good.

To be fair, before I saw there were subs at the bottom, it sounded like she said "they kept my mom."
iirc, one of Gove's great ideas was that the intelligence agencies should remain active, quietly assassinating people until the Troubles were won.
Went to the county fair today, the local Republican group had a banner with portraits of Fredrick Douglas and MLK on it.
By Destiny's Abortion Go To PostYeah we need more unfettered capitalism and homeless people on the streets.Open borders tho 😂
All the immigration policy is good for right now is exactly what you described - the worst of capitalism, itching to exploit the fuck out of undocumented workers, and a growing homelessness issue.
By Fenderputty Go To PostThe debt limit not even being talked about is a fucking joke lol

By DY_nasty Go To PostThe debt limit not even being talked about is a fucking joke lol
It shouldn’t even be a thing, and I don’t want to use it as leverage, cause our credit rating is more important than politics, but Jesus fuck talk about walking into a trap. Day one they’ll be complaining about out of control debt and holding that rating hostage
His base loves hearing that stuff.
The Debt limit is there for Republicans to ignore but bitch about when Dems are in power, and is there for the dems to use as an excuse why they can't actually implement any sort of grand progressive policies.

Since 2014, a succession of budget deals has waived the Budget Control Act caps, and the deal in its current form does not revive them past their expiration in 2021.But tax cuts
Meantime, the federal debt has ballooned to $22 trillion. Despite healthy economic growth, the federal deficit for this fiscal year has reached $747 billion with two months to go — a 23 percent increase from the year before.
During the first two years of the Trump administration, the debt increased by more than $2 trillion, in part because of the 10-year, $1.5 trillion tax cut and large spending increases Mr. Trump signed into law."It's necessary when I do it"
Lawmakers and officials who once raised alarm over the growing debt — including Mr. Trump himself, who warned in 2015 that debt over $21 trillion would “have effectively bankrupted our country” — have largely fallen silent. In the first round of Democratic presidential debates, the national debt was barely mentioned, with candidates choosing to focus on countering economic inequality and beefing up government programs.
