Is tangentially related to the debt ceiling increases and can be avoided with 60 votes.
Note: i realize debt is something Dems might use as a scapegoat for why something new can’t be added, but the debt ceiling is not. It’s there as a piece of legislative antiquity and is now used by the GOP as leverage or they blow up the word economy. Our credit rating shouldn’t be tied to politics.

Chuck Schumer referenced the debt ceiling for reasons why we can’t have nice things when Mitch isn’t passing anything anyway?
To be ultra clear ...
Debt, Deficits and the Debt Ceiling are all different things and from a legislative standpoint, the debt ceiling needs to be abolished. It is not a political issue to pay bills previously approved through the legislative / political process.

And, no - black sites should be something people remember vividly but don't. Indefinite holdings are something the executive branch flexes routinely

Equally good.
Want it well known that Have I Got News For You are enormously complicit in this. And I'm not joking in the slightest. They massively legitimised him in the mainstream.

Helped perpetuate the "bojo" persona
They started giving him panel show and presenting gigs so he could spread his brand of "harmless, funny toff" politics. That was most people's first exposure to him, and they thought oh look he's just hamless, fun Boris.
He's a venal, inept and racist cunt and I hope he burns.

By Laboured Go To PostWant it well known that Have I Got News For You are enormously complicit in this. And I'm not joking in the slightest. They massively legitimised him in the mainstream.I've seen this before, and it massively overstates the relevance of the show. It's watched by a tiny fraction of the voting public, and most likely people that spend their friday nights watching a political panel show are already going to be pretty knowledgeable about politicians anyway. He had two stints as mayor of London that had a much larger impact on his reputation than a couple of stints on a panel show.
It's just like all the era lunatics who wail on about the newspapers in the UK even as they become increasingly irrelevant and read by nobody.
Not s surprise. Middle class people who like their insurance don’t want it replaced ... yet. A blossoming public option would likely see and increase in public healthcare and a decline in private though. I doubt a public option would pass unless the senate flips tho
