Way out of the strike zone on the first pitch to the second batter and Chapman makes his own call to the bullpen. "Somebody come get me."
Tommy Kahnle and his 6.94 ERA (coming in) saves the day. This is not inexplicable loss #1 of this 6 game trip.
(If the call stands. Runner caught stealing second for the third out.)

By unknown Go To PostMIA is easy work!
Never any doubt!

It's the part of the season where I again express my disdain with Baltimore and Washington. Together, they claim Charlotte as a media market despite no actual television presence here (nobody carries MASN) (Cincinnati and Atlanta also claim Charlotte, but at least they're both on the air), which means I can't watch the Yankees when they're playing either the Orioles or Nationals unless it's an actual nationally televised game. I have MLB.TV, but the games are blacked out.
How's that for good customer service. The one way I can actually see their games, the way I'm paying for, is a way I cannot use.
The 4 games against Baltimore over the next 3 days will be radio affairs. Hello, John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman.

By Pac-12 Go To PostYankees are shit.
The season is shit.
Baseball is shit.
It doesn't help that Aaron Judge is still out, and Didi is out, and Sanchez.... actually, he has sucked all year anyway. But the Orioles have been embarrassing the Yankees all year.
How bad has Greg Bird been that some scrub hitting .211 is replacing him today. Luke Voit is sh...
Oh look, he just hit a 2 run homer to tie the game.

Friendship ended with Greg Bird. Now Luke Voit is my best friend.
Another 2 run homer. Neil Walker homered moments before, so it's a 7-4 lead in the 10th.

I guess it's good I am restricted to radio this weekend for NY, don't have to see the awful uniforms they're wearing. Tuned into the Dodger game and my eyes said "nope."
By Pac-12 Go To Post2 inexplicable losses coming tomorrow.
It's good to be wrong. It's also good that Tampa is treating Boston like they do the Yankees.
By Pac-12 Go To PostTampa swept Boston. Is it too much to ask one of your to join my Fantasy Foot Yahoo league that drafts in an hour? $75 PayPal Buy-In?
Is it too much to ask that the Yankees complete the sweep of Baltimore tonight?
By Pac-12 Go To PostYes, turns out that part is too much to ask. Then there we go! Yanks lose tonight we are in agreement!
Dammit Orioles you acting like bitches now. Yankees need to lose Pac-12 said it was too much trouble.
It's going to cost you $75 to get the Orioles to win.
That, or a Syphon post that turns into the kiss of death.

This is where I try a reverse jinx.
That bum Greg Bird is coming up with 2 on, 2 out, with the Yankees trailing by 2 in the bottom of the sixth. Greg Bird, who is hitting sub .200. And he has two minutes to think about it, as the White Sox are making a pitching change.
Fuck.

In my excitement, and multi-tasking with a work production issue, I misattributed the credit.
A-A-Ron. (Hicks.)
Hey look, that bum Greg Bird had a chance to come through again with a man on second, 2 outs, bottom of 8th, and didn't do it.
My MLB.TV feed cut out and I missed the ending.
Fortunately, it was a positive ending. Neil Walker with the walk-off in the 9th.

At least they made their 3 outs.
I'll never understand why you stare at the best pitch you're going to get all night long on a 3-0 count. Damn thing is always right down broadway, dead center of the strike zone. And you just look at it. When Hicks took that pitch, I said he's going to strike out, and he did.
