By Pennywise Go To PostHe also got all those people buried in the crypts. Kind of a stupid move to move your weakest characters in there.
That too, if they all die then everyone in the crypt will die instantly, should’ve had them flee away
By Epic Games Store Go To PostGreyworm is toast and Brienne got her ending, she's done. Two shock death without killing an A tier character. Mormont's story is done too, nowhere to go for him and he's old anyway.A black guy and a woman "fighter" being killed in a TV show isn't really a shock at this point
People who are safe for now:
Jon, Danny, Arya, Sansa, Tyrion, Jamie
Everybody else is 50/50.
Honestly it would be really cool if everyone in the surrounding area is wiped out next episode like a White Walker atom bomb strike, except maybe Jon and/or Dany, so they/he/she can move the plot where it needs to go for three more episodes; stab Cersei and Euron with Lightbringer or something

Dead
Jorah. He fucked himself over by saying Tyrion is the right Hand. Now he has nothing left to offer.
Grey Worm. He ain't going to Naath because he will literally die straight away on the island(at least in the books)
Theon. He will sacrifice himself for Bran.
Jamie. I thought he would survive the whole shit, but sounded like Bran knew there would be no after party for Jamie.
Edd. He had his reunion with the Sam and John on a wall. Now it is all over for him.
Beric. Dude literally gets killed in every battle he has been in, this time nobody is bringing him back.
Pod. I think he will die, but they did him dirty not knighting him.
Brienne. No more point to Brienne, especially if Jamie dies.
Varys. No point to him in the show now. He will die revealing that the voice he heard in the flame is that he would be killed by Nighty at Winterfell.
Hound. He will die saving Sansa(Maybe Beric sacrifices himself to bring back the Hound)
Arya. Too much death for her not to catch it, but only if Mel returns.
Melisandra. I feel like she will return with the Red Priest Army and sway the battle. She sacrifices herself to bring back Arya.
Survives
Tyrion
Sam. No way he dies. One of the big theories is that he is the one writing the whole story.
Little Sam and Gilly. I kinda feel the whole Nighty is after Bran might be a red herring. I actually think he is after Little Sam. White Walkers seemed to start to mobalise after he was stolen from them. Most will die in the crypts before they realise that the Night King is there, but Gilly and the Sams make it out.. Trailer spoilerI think that is when we see Ayra running with a cut on her.
Gendry. I think Gendry survives and will be legitimised by the end of the story and continue the Beratheon house..
Lyanna. I think she survives somehow and continues the Mormont house(otherwise switch her with Jorah)
Tormond. No way they kill him. he is the link to the wildlings.
Davos. he will survive as a link to the common people.
Danny.
Bran.

When has being a wildling ever mattered lol tormund never should've lasted as long as he has. Everyone poured one out for him last season -twice- ain't no way in hell he's skating again. He's cheated more death than anyone left in the show. A giant white walker is stomping him the fuck out and his death will generate light to moderate shrugs from everyone that sees it
Killing Arya on Sunday would make her story arc the biggest waste in the series. She’s off’ed two dudes on the list I think, only one of any consequence and a full season ago, and decided to let to two at the wall live. Cersei and the mountain still exist. Her making it this far only makes sense if she gets to move those plots along. Fuck we wasted I think two full season on her becoming some bad ass too. She didn’t survive this long only to have a sec scene and get rekt in her first white walker battle
By Fenderputty Go To PostPSY being SLAENT’s Tormund makes too much sense, reallyWhitest Slaent poster I know, so yeah.

They are a 10,000 year old culture. I don’t see them being wiped out, at least not their representative. Once everything goes down, Tormund will be there to speak up for them.

She will die and be resurrected by Mel.
Her death list is stupid and the show pretty much said as much when the Hound asked about Beric.
why would they ressurect arya? she has no importance in this, she's just a random woman.
on the "no way they die" list she might be top 3 besides Jon and Dany. way to big of a fan favourite and her story isn't nearly close to being done.
we all know she will face Cersei at one point, probably with the jamie mask.

As a way for Mel to redeem herself for burning alive Shireen. I think it would be a pretty cool way for Mel to go. Sacrificing herself to save Ayra, who is about the same age as Shireen. The guilt overcomes her and she dies in Weateros like she said she would.
that makes sense for fans but in universe there's absolutely no reason to bring her back. she has no importance.
I genuinely hope they all perish without redeeming themselves
my Thoros died and they all should suffer for it

I can see Podrick making it out alive this battle.
I hope Thyrion gets it though, man has been useless for 2 seasons now.

The show sorta needs a wtf moment where violence is beyond shocking. The best way is to kill all kids and weaklings in the crypt. It'll be called the crypt massacre or something. And yeah that foreshadowing is not the most subtle.
My feeling is that they've kept things very safe and predictable for over a season now. It's all been total fan service when the show has been built on being like anti-fan service at times. Hope they change things up and do the unexpected.

So tons of buddy comedy and pairings that people were "shipping".
By Gaby Go To PostI mean… at this point, without Martin, it's literally fan-fiction. Fiction written by fans. So tons of buddy comedy and pairings that people were "shipping".innit. Dont watch HBO's behind the scenes footage, it's very discouraging. Especially when the writers talk about the scenes and the reasonings behind them
'i love these characters so much *voice breaking* i wanted to show them all in one scene sitting together'
'we wanted to do an original song because we haven't done one in a while'
i love these characters so much i gave sansa an entire arc about being raped instead of properly developing her into a littlefinger-esque manipulator
Well I mean, as a successful middle-aged entertainment biz white guy, he does have 4 decades of reinforcement assuring him that's how you give a female character depth

I mean, certain characters have plot armor. Kill everyone around them and eventually thing get less complicated. Obviously this is very loosely tied to the story as Martin sold HBO the ending but hasn’t written it yet. It’s not like the major plot points should vary much from what will eventually come out though. Which gives me hope for the ending of it all
There’s a sleeping dragon under the crypt is my favorite fan theory every. It’s dumb a fuck and I want it to happen
But really who is ready for Dany to try and kill Jon just to found out the dragons won’t listen to her or he’s fire proof

That scene made me think that Tyrion is the story-teller.

Bran probably knows Tyrion's story with his Chapter Select hack
By Gaby Go To PostThat scene made me think that Tyrion is the story-teller.i thought that too for a while but then i remembered that they made a point of telling us how smart Tyrion is like 4 times in the episode. i think he will figure something out involving Bran's backstory and this scene showed us where he knows it from. which will then lead to a heroic sacrifice from him.
Jamie would probably try doing something heroic to save the hacker too
@Epic
he explicitly asked for his story IIRC
@Epic
he explicitly asked for his story IIRC
yeah he did, did i say anything to the contrary?
i think they set him up to do something heroic on the battlefield.
1. they made a point of saying that he's smart
2. he said that he changed and his whoring days are over
3. he did the "i think we might live"-speech
4. he talked to bran to gain knowledge about the night king
5. they didn't allow him to fight even though he wanted
seems like a setup for him to save the day and die in the process completing his arc. he grew up with everyone hating him so it made him only care for himself and ends up being a hero respected by everyone who survives. i don't think they can help themselves and have redemptions/fan service moments for all the A-tier characters.

Like in Tolkien's, I thought a character would be the storyteller. I thought it would be Sam, because I'm looking for a connection to all storylines, Sam was tied to Jorah and he's the representation of the non-fighting big boned nerd (GRRM having refused to go to Vietnam, etc). But now Tyrion has a link to all and Sam doesn't know King's Landing's story.
What I like about having a character as a story teller is that it allows narration to be non-reliable, thus giving a reason for the fantasy elements. Tyrion can write himself wittier, he can use magic to fill in the blanks of what he doesn't know, etc.
