I’m still pretty meh towards ray tracing to be honest. My opinion may change after playing Control next year.

You've played Quake ii rtx? Exodus? Control is definitely the leader among games with it, but if you've played those other two and still weren't impressed....that's tough.

The thing has impressed me most time and time again is just really good HDR implementation. I’d love to see more of that on PC because when it’s done right it looks fucking phenomenal.

Quake ii rtx is phenomenal, vapes pls
Absolutely not something I would consider using as a daily PC, but the fact you can get such a strong PC in such a small form factor is truly incredible.

Yeah, I'm going to switch back. Had the issue when ghub was still in beta and assumed it would be sorted by now.
As much as I generally like Logitech gear, I'm glad to be free of peripheral bloatware.
Set the DPI and my colourway for the GMMK and Model O-, closed the applications and never needed to open them since.

I don't mind GHUB, though I really only use / need it for DPI switching when I'm alt-tabbing between desktop and Apex.
Works flawlessly, which I'm still surprised about.

i'm on a 1070 with an i5-7600k, would upgrading to a gsync 144hz/1440p monitor be worth it now or should i hold off until i upgrade everything?

I'd say go for the monitor upgrade, but hold off on upgrading the GPU or CPU for now. You've got the absolute worst pairing when it comes to upgrading to something substantially better with those two parts.
thanks for the input, im leaning towards the LG 27GL83A-B 27
is there any meaningful difference between what seems to be monitors with native g-sync support and g-sync compatible monitors?

Yeah, native G-Sync means the monitor has been certified through Nvidia and is guaranteed to have certain attributes.
I had the itch to upgrade but didn't feel like getting a 2080 Ti for $1200+tax when it's been on the market for so long, so I grabbed a cheap/used GTX 1080 Ti to hold me over until the RTX 3080 Ti launches. In the meanwhile I'm enjoying this level of performance and it's also nice having a non-reference cooler for a change (EVGA SC2 model) which is cool & quiet compared to the blowers that I'm used to.

Vapes and Smokey am disappoint.
Wise choice
My need to fiddle and tinker with my PC has manifested in spending an unhealthy amount of time in PC Building sim over the last few days. I tried iit out close to launch and didn't think too much of it, but now it's really quite neat. If your case in the game for instance, and you were to plan a custom loop this would be really handy to work out your tubing routes in game as a reference for how you want your PC to look IRL.
I've been tempted to pick that up just to fuck around with builds like that. Cheaper than doing it IRL.
By Smokey Go To PostGod I wish SLI was still a thing
Why you want to spend more money to not play games?
It’s always had it’s issuesanyway. I wish they could’ve done something to fix/remove the remove the microstutter with SLI so ATX/mATX served a purpose to me, but can’t say I’m that bothered that it’s been bushed instead.
By Smokey Go To PostI had very few issues with my Tri SLI Titan Black setup m8All that power....the doors must've looked incredible
Benchmarks were gdlk too

Why not try your luck with dual 2080Ti’s then? The issues with microstutter absolutely terrify me of ever wanting to try SLI tbh. Wouldn’t even bother me that some games don’t support it or play better without it, but the idea of it making gameplay less fluid overall kills it for me.
Because the days of nvidia actually supporting and pushing SLI are over. When I was into it, they made a dedicated effort to support the tech.
I had a 1300w PSU for that setup too. It was great.

got my Ergotron LX Desk Mount set up. It's really fucking nice, but holy shit, did I underestimate how much of a pain it would be to setup. No doubt partly due to me being an idiot, but also just the most awkwardly placed screw to tighten/losen parts of it up. had to go to youtube to look for it, due to terrible manual.
Anyone got any experience with HPET modification/bench marks?

I've had a lot of trouble with stuttering issues on a PC that's largely CPU limited. Just disabled it in BIOS and confirmed a disable in Windows, and things appear to be running better after early tests, but can't know for sure without more time put in or benchmarks.

I won't be moving on from my PG27UQ anytime soon. That reminds me...there was supposed to be a revision of it that used miniled, got rid of the fan, and some other stuff. Was supposed to release Q4 last year, and surprise surprise, it missed the date. I haven't heard anything since its reveal.
