About what I expected. Not bad, not great either. Also, that idle power consumption is ridiculous, they need to address it asap.

By Kibner Go To Post7900XTX reviews are out. Rasterization is ahead of the 4080 and, at worst, tied. RT performance relative to the 4080 depends on title, but the 4080 pulls ahead by ~40% in the worst case (for AMD) and ~10% in the best case.
I miss the days when Radeon was owned by ATI. My x800 Pro was a beast, drivers were awesome, and life was good.
Now I wouldn’t even consider switching back to Radeon.

If anyone needs a Corsair 12VHPWR cable, for some reason Best Buy is selling them even though Corsair’s own site has never had them in stock: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/corsair-600w-pcie-5-0-gen-5-12vhpwr-type-4-psu-power-cable-black/6527256.p?skuId=6527256
Just ordered mine for whenever I eventually upgrade my videocard. (was able to use a Best Buy gift card I had as well so it worked out even better)

Nvidia removing GameStream from the Shield TV, so I'm assuming they're removing support from the PC drivers too.
I use it pretty often to play certain games on my phone or iPad when the TV is in use, so that's intensely irritating

Assuming Moonlight gets updated, you should be able to continue to stream from your pc.

Nvidia uses much lower level APIs for GS (and also Steam Link), so maybe someone can eventually figure out how to use it.
By Celcius Go To PostDoes anyone make a 480mm AIO?Probably. Though the pumps in AIOs start struggling past 360mm (they kinda already struggle with that size radiator).
There’s definitely some 420mm AIOs that’ll perform as good or better than a potential 480mm in any case. Though 280mm AIOs are the sweet spot.
I kinda feel like once you are wanting to move to any performance advantage of 480mm then you are also moving into custom loop territory.
Lenovo has announced two 4K monitors using Mini LED tech, and they seem like very interesting choices for someone who wants a nice display but won’t be doing any hardcore gaming. The 27-inch ThinkVision P27pz-30 and 31.5-inch P32pz-30 come packed with 1,152 dimming zones, a bevy of ports, and even the potentially unprecedented ability to send 140W of power to a laptop — and despite the high price points of many Mini LED monitors, they’re both expected to cost well under $2,000 when they arrive in August 2023.
The ThinkVision P32pz-30, meanwhile, will come in at $1,599, and while Lenovo’s current press release lists prices as “coming soon” for the 27-inch model, a previous version referenced it being 1,699 euros (around $1,800 USD), according to Ars Technica.27" more expensive than the 32"? Can someone explain that to me?
It does come with a KVM switch so this might be what I've been looking for if I can find it on sale at some point.
Probably same resolution so much higher pixel density, which is probably more difficult to manufacture?
Did I come across the Asus Pro-Art PA32UCR-K before?
It's available now at $1,499, but it has half the dimming zones of the Lenovo coming out next summer, 80W charging, and no KVM.
Although, it is a shame these are all 60Hz. It's ... good enough but would've liked it to be 144Hz at that price.

Well for me the MSI 1300w ATX 3.0 PSU has been back ordered for…forever…I was on the list and it just shipped out to me today. Gonna send the Thor II back, I had been holding out for a 3.0 PSU and apparently that one has been hard af to get a hold of. Didn’t expect it until next year tbh and got the Thor II in the meantime.
Gold vs Platinum but I’ll take the extra 300w and 3.0 compatibility.
Also gonna keep a eye out for the 13900KS

I was looking through my amazon invoices and just realized I've had this Noctua NH-D14 since Nov 2011. I've gotta say - they make a quality product. Started out cooling a 2600K, then a 7700K, and now it's cooling a 10700K.
With joysticks and pedals sorted - very happy with my picks, VKB are midrange kings - I recently started looking into head tracking, the final step to achieving flight/space sim nirvana. (Well, actually, that'll come playing with a VR headset, but that's a project for later next year.)
There's a couple of ways to go about it. The old and trusty route is by using a camera / infrared tracker that's looking at an arrangement of IR LEDs that sits somewhere on your head(phones). That's how TrackIR, the most popular head tracking solution, has been doing it for more than a decade.
Its many clones have since improved on it, mainly by replacing the wired wearable sensor clip with a wireless / battery powered one, and brought the entry price down by utilizing a cheap webcam (a modified PS3 Eye works surprisingly well) instead of a "specialized" IR tracker. The pros are many: very accurate tracking, good tracking range and most importantly - very low latency.
The other method aims to get rid of the one negative of tracking IR LEDs - having to wear a gizmo on your head. The likes of Tobii and AimXYZ track your head or rather your face directly.
I was almost set on spending 250€ on a Tobii, however ... I've been experimenting with a camera, OpenTrack (open source tracking app) and a couple of free "AI face tracking" plugins for the latter and, well, I'm both impressed and disappointed. The tracking itself is actually pretty solid when everything is set up properly. Tobii's face + eyes tracking is even better, however a big problem with all these face recognition solutions is latency. 800-1000ms might be fine for leisure flying in MS Flight Simulator, but when dogfighting in Star Citizen and other combat sims where you're constantly swinging around ... you don't want any sluggishness.
So now I'm leaning towards IR tracking. I could wire up some LEDs and 3D print a housing for them and a battery myself, but I'll probably just buy this bad boy, since it includes a 240hz IR camera and is very reasonably priced.
Thanks for coming to my head tracking talk.

I know some ETS2 fans hooked up their IR sensors onto a ball cap that they would wear while playing for ultimate immersion.
e: i've also been interested in head tracking for similar reasons as you, i just never got around to doing anything about it

By Kibner Go To Poste: i've also been interested in head tracking for similar reasons as you, i just never got around to doing anything about itIt's really easy and quick to set up, if you ever wanna test it.
All you need is a webcam (or your phone's camera via DroidCam app and server on PC) and Opentrack. You can use the included "neuralnet tracker" plugin to set up face tracking or install AITrack alongside it. I got better results with the latter. Neither's tracking was what I'd consider good enough, though I didn't spend much time tinkering with settings. Anyway, it's the latency that's the real killer for me.
I watched a couple more comparison videos on the subject and I'm confident IR tracking is the way to go for my use case.
Just ordered the above mentioned Grass Monkey King Puck, cost me half what a Tobii would've, which is nice.
Imagine one of these with an X3D Ryzen 7000...
and since AMD is supporting the socket for a long time you could get a board like this and then use it through several cpu upgrades potentially

Unicorn of a PSU. I was in the backorder list for at least a few months. I also thought it was gold for some reason and not Platinum which was a pleasant surprise. Thor II going back to Newegg.

Think I'm going to do this for my rig:Snag a 13900K
Move to Maximus Extreme Z690 due to its PCIE 5.0 M2 slot, use with 13900k.
Transfer everything to my 7000D case
New display - Asus PG42UQ or Neo G7
RTX 4090 + Vertex PSU in Dec/Jan
I've got a certain Order of Operations I want to follow, and definitely want to upgrade from my 850w Seasonic to a 1000w/1200w unit, but those Vertex 3.0 PSUs not releasing until December has me adjusting. Really thought they'd hit closer to RTX 40 launch.

Given I can probably get tax back on it given I need a monitor for work, I might go for it.
Haven’t seen any other QD-OLEDs coming that look like they’re around the same spec. Should probably wait for CES right?
