By Kibner Go To PostIf you are talking about the GPU memory clock, then, no, not really. Modern Nvidia GPUs don't see much benefit from memory clock boosts.
Turing GPUs benefits a fair bit from overclocking the GDDR6. I’d say you get more out of +700mhz on the GDDR6 than you get out of running the best possible manual overclock on the core but I’m too lazy to double check that claim atm.
I think the Navi GPUs also benefits a fair bit at least the 5700XT anyway.
What do ya'll think about this monitor?

100hz and 21:9 is decent, but I've not seen any reviews on that monitor.
Got my Corsair radiators delivered today. They look fucking clean. Can't wait to get everything else through for the new loop.

I tried 125% but because I'm WFH I'm using things like Outlook and how the fuck am I meant to read most of that?
For you rich peeps with HDR monitors, can you have both a HDR and SDR monitors connected at the same time?
By Laboured Go To PostI tried 125% but because I'm WFH I'm using things like Outlook and how the fuck am I meant to read most of that?If you click on that view% thing in the bottom right corner of Outlook, it brings up the dialog box below, letting you save your preferences for zooming in:
Also, if you go to View -> Current View -> View Settings, it will open up this menu:
Click on "Other Settings..." here and that will let you change the font sizes for the column that holds your email listing (the middle column on my Outlook).
By Laboured Go To PostGoddamit I was looking for that :lolI was only able to help so quickly because it was something I had to figure out myself very recently. lol
e: i think those options also exist in those areas in all the other MS Office products
I was able to overclock the GPU memory by 800 without any issues. Debating whether I should keep pushing or stay as is.
Killing Floor 2 was the one that always crashed my machine if my GPU memory clock was set too high on my 1070.

Which GPU is it again?
I think the 2070/2080 Super can go +1000mhz without much issue, non-super cards usually around +700mhz. Silicon lottery applies like with any form of overclock though.
By HonestVapes Go To PostWhich GPU is it again? Its a 1660 Super.

By Zabojnik Go To PostAnyone? My brother is considering buying a C9 and wants to know what the HDR experience is like on Windows 10 currently and whether you can have the TV connected as your secondary display in HDR, while your primary monitor is SDR.I’ve not noticed any issues with HDR on the X27 and SDR on the 240hz monitor, but HDR is still a pain in the arse depending on the game.
Ubisoft games that support have be superb, you can SDR in Windows and the game will swap over to HDR when you enable it.
Other games still require it to be on in Windows for the option to present itself. RDR2 required it to be on in Windows and for the game to be running in DX12 as it didn’t display correctly with Vulkan.
Overall I’d still say it’s a pain in the arse despite getting better with time, but once it’s up and running properly it makes it worthwhile.
If you leave HDR on in Windows a lot of the headache is over too. I’m just stubborn and refuse to run it HDR at all times when only a handful of games that I have support it.
Thanks, Vapes. I passed the info along, much appreciated.
I really wish I had an easy way to connect my PC to the C9. I'd need at least 15m of cable, which basically only leaves HDMI over fiber, but there's no way I'd be able to squeeze the HDMI connector through the ϕ20mm or so conduit. I was hoping to find a HoF cable with detachable connectors, but the ends of the ones I've checked so far are still to thick. Only thing I'm able to pass through is plain cable.

I can already tell this is the beginning of an adventure that ends with Zabo just making his own HDMI over Fibre cables
By Kibner Go To PostYou could maybe mess with HDMI repeaters? Not sure how much, if any, latency they add.Wireless HDMI doesn't have the best reputation and ideally I'd want the full 40-48gbps bandwidth to make full use of C9's HDMI 2.1 capabilities, which wireless won't do. There might be some professional-grade equipment out there, but it surely costs more than a brand new gaming PC, defeating the point. Last I checked even entry wireless HDMI 1.4 stuff (that actually worked) was easily over 300€.
By NinjaFridge Go To PostI can already tell this is the beginning of an adventure that ends with Zabo just making his own HDMI over Fibre cablesI looked into all that stuff a couple of years ago, when we were setting up the network infrastructure at my parents' house. Might be doable. :D
Zabo, I am talking about something like this: https://jtechdigital.com/product/jtech-hdmi20-repeater/
but for HDMI 2.1 (which I am admittedly struggling to find). It is a physical repeater/signal booster. Yeah, it would be another thing to hide, but would let you extend your wire run to however long it needs to be.
e: i'm looking into this more and maybe that is what you were referring to when you mentioned hdmi over ethernet... my bad

HDMI over fiber. HDMI over ethernet would be perfect and for I moment I thought I had found the solution to all my problems ... but then I remembered that not even a CAT8 cable, which I've never even seen in my life, is rated for speeds over 40gbps, let alone CAT6 and CAT7.
Anyway, wire length is a secondary problem. Repeaters won't do me any good. What I'm unable to do is pass a HDMI connector through the existing electrical tubing in the walls, which is why I was (still am) hoping to go the fiber route. But I'd need a solution that lets me attach / crimp a HDMI/fiber connector/converter on the TV side of the cable.

Have you considered just moving your PC closer to the TV? Time to go all in on the small form factor portability.

By HonestVapes Go To PostLegend has it, he 3D printed his PS4 Pro.@zabo 💀
By bacon Go To PostHave you considered just moving your PC closer to the TV? Time to go all in on the small form factor portability.Oh, I have. I've considered switching to something like the Lian Li TU-150 case ...
... and even 3D printing a quick disconnect panel of sorts for the cables in the back. It might be worth it for the not very many PC games I'd actually want to play on the OLED and especially with living room VR in mind, but if there's a chance to simply connect a HDMI cable, then that's preferable.
The easiest thing to do would be to just build another PC, but I couldn't bare looking at it collecting dust next to the TV for weeks/months at a time.

That’s how it starts, Zabo. Then you’ll start downsizing further and spend a fortune on boutique SFF cases and niche aircoolers.
How do you all feel about this?

Considered one of the best value monitors for its features: 2K, 144hz, Gsync, 27", IPS panel. Good purchase overall.
Huh, never even heard of that variant of the GL850. It has no USB3 ports and a slightly worse backlight in terms of color coverage (sRGB vs DCI-P3), but at 100$ less, that's probably what I'd go with, if budget was a key factor. Very good deal for sure.
And I’m sold. I was expecting the MSRP to be a lot higher on this bad boy.
By EldritchTrapStar Go To PostHow do you all feel about this?Dope for gaming and productivity. You’re practically stealing it for that price.

By Kibner Go To PostWish I knew if the 360 watt rating was including the 2x120mm fans or not…It'll be with the fans. I don't believe it performs that well passively.
It's seemingly just an updated model of the Morpheus II to be fully compatible with the newer cards. The Morpheus II and the 8057 are identical in fin count, heatpipes quantity/thickness and overall weight so I imagine it'll perform just as well. Whether it can stand to dissipate a full 360W directly from a GPU die, I don't know but it's definitely capable of cooling something like an overclocked 2080Ti.
By HonestVapes Go To PostGive me the cheapest 3080 and the 8057. Give me 11137.
How great it would be if you could buy just the PCB + proc of a GPU.
EDIT: Actually, what's the difference? Seems to be about the same as the Morpheus II Core?
CPU had a single bent pin, in the most random location. I thought it was my fault (so I fixed it), but after sleeping it off, hell nah. Shit costs to much. Lol. The replacement comes Thursday.
The only bit of trouble that I really had, after figuring out how to install the cooler, was what plugs from the case go where. I don't know that I did that correctly. Everything else was fine.
