By Zabojnik Go To PostCould've sworn you had metal side panels on your NCase.Who said I wasn't planning to ask you to 3D print a windowed side panel for it?
I'm planning to move over to a Lian Li Q37, or possibly O11 Mini depending on the price and how soon it releases. Just waiting on certain things to become available again first. Though that Cooler Master case I posted the other day could win me over, it's doing a lot right from a design stand point.
Edit:
I bought one extra fan to go along with two that came with the case. Should I put it at the front so I'll have two intake or at the top for exhaust?
By Elliott Go To PostI bought one extra fan to go along with two that came with the case. Should I put it at the front so I'll have two intake or at the top for exhaust? How are the fans that come with the case oriented? In general, you want to make sure air flows in as direct a path as feasible with cool air coming in and hot air being moved out. If the case does not have an exhaust fan, it is usually (but not necessarily always) a good idea to add one, as long as the intake fans provide adequate amounts of fresh air.

By Elliott Go To PostIt's one exhaust at the rear and one intake in front, I believe. Two intakes and one exhaust would be more beneficial than one intake and two exhausts, imo.

By Zabojnik Go To PostWhat CPU / cooler did you get in the end?Since I went with a more conservative gpu, I splurged a bit for the cpu and got a Ryzen 3900x. For the cooler, I ended up getting a Be Quiet Dark Rock 4.
That's what I have, no TG tho. The case is suspended under my desk, ain't nobody got time to look at it.
Think I'll go with something other than Fractal for my next case. Still like their core design, but after three cases ... Definitely a high flow case.

Only with shame can we understand the true meaning of honour, Zabo-kun.

Actually know a way around this. PM me for tips.
Hope you lads are proud of yourselves. Yet another poor soul taken from us due to the perils of PC building. You people.
Sorry for the lack of updates, I got up to installing the motherboard in to the case last night then went to sleep.
So things have gone mostly good this morning, the motherboard lights up and fans spin whenever I turn the pc on. However, I plugged it to my monitor using hdmi and I'm not getting anything. The monitor is detecting a connection but its just a black screen. Could I have mounted the GPU incorrectly?

Did you plug the display cable into the motherboard or the GPU?

You plugged the HDMI cord into the motherboard or the GPU? If you plugged into the GPU, try directly into the motherboard instead and see if you get a picture.
By Elliott Go To PostI plugged the hdmi in to the motherboard.
Plug it into the GPU, fam.
I think I'm really gonna go for this Lian Li Q37. It's a big boy compared to previous three ITX case I've built in, but it's so much friendlier to a custom loop. 80mm of clearance at the top for radiator + fans, 45mm below the GPU. Plenty of space for tube routing and pump/reservoir mounting.
Most importantly, the glass front and side will show off my Trident Z's.

Nice! The first build is always the hardest. But now you know kinda how things go together so if you need to repair or replace a part, you will be more familiar with the process. :D

Probably should've waited for the mouse and keyboard I ordered to come in but fuck it I was excited and for now I'm just happy it actually turns on.

This is the most satisfying part.
Congrats on your success, Elliott.
Welcome back, lad.

By Zabojnik Go To PostCongrats on your success, Elliott. For reference, the O11 Mini that will be based on that case is reported to be 38 liters.

By HonestVapes Go To PostPerfect for putting in a home server closet. Though you probably wouldn't need that much server CPU power for such a thing. 🤷♀️

Y'all know I move from case to case on average once a year, right?
I'll be back in a true small form factor case before you even realise.

May need to do some house cleaning. Don't know what's taking up so much space on the nvme drive (C:).
Or just get another one.
I got the 2TB 860 SSD in Feb 2019. Still same price ($300) on Newegg :l
By Smokey Go To PostDon't forget to check out the Inland (in-house Microcenter brand) SSDs if you are getting a new one and don't want QLC.
