By AlphaSnacks Go To PostI didn't recommend it. It's nice. But I wouldn't buy the shit.So he got a lemon. He should have been given another new vehicle.
Not quite. The fuel sending unit stopped reporting fuel level to the display. It kept reading the car had fuel, meanwhile it had none. It was stuck at half. The battery dying must've been something that happened after the tow - I think it was never shut off and died. The issue has since, returned btw. My dad just basically fills the car up once it reaches half a tank.
Audis.

That's not how it works. Especially not in NYC.
By AlphaSnacks Go To PostThat's not how it works. Especially not in NYC.I would think insurance would try and force it as a write-off? Especially if your family are probably long term clients. I would think New York has a lemon law as well. Seriously look into it.

How does it work then? Getting a brand new car acting like that and just dealing with it doesn't seem to be a viable long term option.
By jongkookie Go To PostHot damn!I guess these will be sold out. Can't wait for the GT4 version.
400HP twin turbo V6 with a manual transmission and a starting price of $40k(exactly the same as the 2003 350z accounting for inflation)?
Well shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
When are they taking deposits?
The longer I stare at it, it's just right. Good job, Nissan. I mean, we've seen the car for some time now, but they've captured that classic Z look very well.

This is not a write off situation, m8. It's a glitch. My dad needs to go back and tell them to replace the sending unit, which they did NOT replace the first time. All they did was replace the 48V system, since it drained and died. I told the dealer to replace the sending unit sensor itself when I was there. They didn't because they said they tested it and it was fine...but when the issue is intermittent, obviously shit works on and off. Just typical TERRIBLE Audi dealer customer service.

Every state differs. NY State requires FOUR successive faults and 21 days of out commission. Florida is two faults and 15 days out of commission. Also, if he opts for a new car, he's unlikely to get the same deal that he got for his back in Feb. And his deal was an absolute fucking animal loaded with incentives. So he won't keep his payments the same. In this scenario, it's not advised to get a new car since the fault is fairly small and can be avoided by just filling up the car Shaq-style.
That 400z does it for me. Plenty of power and all the stuff you want. Good throwback bits everywhere. Just have to wait and see how it drives now but the core proposition here is very damned good.
That front end needs a refresh but nice car overall. Glad we are seeing the likes of Emira and 400Z being alive and well.
I want the v6 Emira so bad, but I need to wait and find out more about how much it would cost for what I would configure it with.

I agree. I love it. Q60s do very good 1/4 mile times and speeds. The Z will weigh considerably less and benefit from an all NEW 9-speed vs. the old shit 7-speed. This bitch is gonna' fly. Should be every bit as quick as a Supra.
Plus manual. I'm going to weigh ordering one. I'll wait until they launch, test drive one and see if it's worth trading in the M3 for (although I doubt it...and may end up with a 4th sports car because I HAVE ISSUES).

Yyyyep... looks like it's basically V6 Supra performance about 8-10 grand cheaper. And you can get it with a manual. I'm definitely eyeballing getting one myself.
So next year Auto-Slaent is gonna get renamed to Z-Slaent? 😂
Seems like at least 3 of us are gonna be trying to get one.

I've heard there will be no pre-orders. If that’s true, hopefully it won’t be hard to get one.
Has anybody else noticed the adjustable strut brace? What's up with that?

By Smokey Go To PostI've been reading up on the Z. Sounds p gud. I just need 4 doors 😑
Here you go:
The Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 is pretty much the Z with four doors. Same engine and same automatic transmission.
I wasn't expecting that from Sakurai but I can relate to him when he says it's fun to drive a Benz. You don't want to stop once you get going in that thing. Sod the destination.

Nothing new. The 350Z had the EXACT same strut bar. Pretty funny to see it back on the new Z.

a) capacitive touch buttons are awful
b) this interior is what
c) what the fuck at that interface performance
d) what the fuck at that interface usability
I recommend watching this for the discussion on how bad car infotainment/user interfaces have gotten.
I will say that I've been driving the VW ID.4(which basically has the same infotainment/climate controls as the new GTI) ever since our store got one and I can tell y'all that I'm at a point where I've gotten used to it that it doesn't bother me anymore. IIRC, it took me at least a month(maybe even two since I could really only drive it once/twice a week) to get used to the controls. Also, VW has the ability to provide OTA updates for the interface and it'll become faster as it did for the ID.4 2-3 months after it came out.
And with that said, I don't think he's wrong at all about controls. It really sucked at first and was kind of a pain to use until of course I got used to it. But the fact that I had to get used to it really is the biggest issue... I shouldn't have to get used to it at all coz that's bad design.
Introducing it on the ID.4 was kinda understandable as it has a pretty decent voice assistant and it works 99.9% of the time, and you can literally tell it to make the car hotter/colder and it'll do it for example. I have no clue if that system is inside the GTI, probably not because no one else who's had the car has pointed out that the system exists.
Personally, I'm still waiting to see it in person and you can bet I'd be dropping impressions(assuming VW doesn't make us sign an NDA) as soon as the car is off the truck. But, you can probably put me in the camp of not buying it immediately or at least not anytime soon... the GR86 and new Z are pretty much calling my name lmao.

Today I had a chance to drive a Porsche for the first time. First I drove a 2003 911 and surprisingly I didn’t like it. The steering wheel was heavy as far as turning it, the engine behind you was loud, and I really liked the looks but not so much driving it or the interior quality.
Then I drove a 2015 Macan and it was amazing. Super nice interior, more than 2 seats, very easy to drive, and also had that great Porsche exterior look.
Now I’m planning to aim for one of those next year, after I buy the house this year and have a garage to park it in. I definitely didn’t expect to like the SUV more than the car but I guess actually driving a car is much different than just liking the way it looks.

They are fundamentally different type of experiences despite sharing the same badge -- especially those older more analog 911s. Although the Macan is seemingly the more engaged of SUVs/CUVs out there.
I will buy whatever video game that lets me drive the new Lotus Emira that is coming out.
Was just talking about it with a friend of mine, and, man. I really want one. Waiting for their configurator to come out and give me a price in USD for the build I want. I think I currently have ~$35,000 left on my Cayman's note. I might have to wait and buy one used in a couple years.

Lotus took a big leap towards the mainstream with the announcement it's building four new EVs, and only one is a sports car. The others include a sedan and two SUVs. And on top of the new product announcements, the automaker revealed its Lotus Technology division is going to set up headquarters in Wuhan, China.https://www.autoblog.com/2021/08/31/lotus-four-evs-sedan-crossover-suv-sports-car-technology-china/
With the Elise out of the picture and its pockets full of cash from Geely – parent company to Volvo, too – Lotus is moving forward with its ambitious expansion plans. It announced it will grow its line-up of models with four electric cars shown in the sketch above: an SUV called Type 132 internally and due out in 2022, a sedan marketed as a four-door coupe known as Type 133 and expected to go on sale in 2023, a second SUV referred to as the Type 134 that will make its debut in 2025, and a sports car currently dubbed Type 135 that we'll allegedly see in 2026. This isn't the first time Lotus has made wild claims about its future, but this time it might actually have the funds to pull it off.
Wow, the Emira is literally a swan song.
This is different though. They'll even be manufacturing all of Lotus cars in Wuhan going forward now. Only their sports cars will be developed in England and it sounds like not even built there. Wonder what's gonna happen to those factories.

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. announced the super sports model "NSX Type S" on August 30th. This Type S is a special model that expresses gratitude to the users who supported the NSX, and is limited to 350 units worldwide. Limited to 30 units are available in Japan, and the price is 27.94 million yen.
Might not be the prettiest thing on the outside, but the more I hear about the Rivian truck the more interested in it I get:

My little brother wrecked my car, so I have stepped into the future. Bought an EV. Not a fancy one, just a Kia Niro EV, but it's fun haha. So far no range anxiety or anything since it gets over 240 miles on a full charge. Not like I've been driving much.
Nice! We looked at those but the Ioniq was so much cheaper it was basically impossible to justify the cost difference for a pure grocery getter
Hope your bro is OK, sucks it has to happen that way but oh well.

OH yeah my brother is fine lol, my 07 avalon didn't make it though :( Really didn't want to buy a car in this market, but whatever.
I don't think the ioniq is for sale in texas because stupid stuff, but whatever. I think I'd take the extra range anyways.

My landlord owns a Lincoln Navigator and literally no one, not even his family, is even allowed in the vehicle
Why
Gotta say though I love watching him try to get in and out of his driveway. I live in queens so if you’re not familiar, these driveways are tiny. It’s not the suburbs where you have room for 3 F350s and basketball hoop

Lol yeah...the driveways in places like Maspeth, Glendale, Ridgewood are absurdly tight. I don't understand how old American cars got in between them to the garages behind the homes. Awful planning by the original builders.

Did y'all see what Subaru did to the upcoming WRX?
Plastic cladding in 2022 and with the rear looking a puckered asshole lmao.
I'm not even gonna post pics coz I don't want to ruin y'all's eyes but just imagine a Crosstrek sedan... that's pretty much the new WRX.
🤮🤮🤮
Speaking of SF, how's it to drive around there for out-of-towners?
I'm gonna be there this weekend for Porter Robinson's Second Sky fest at Oakland but I'm staying over by the Moscone. The package deal I got includes a rental car so I'm definitely gonna use it to go outside of the city(like the festival, Daly City for Filipino food, etc) so is there anything I need to know about driving down there and if y'all have some recommendations for restaurants and stuff do let me know lol.
The last time I was there I hit up the House of Prime Rib and I'm probably gonna go back this time coz it was delish, also hit up Ryoko's but I dunno if I'll try to go there this time coz none of the peeps I'm going with love sushi like I do(nor do they want to spend the money after I told them how much I spent over there just by myself 😂).

Better than New York? IDK all the west coast cities have about equivalent roads. I will say though the huge advantage of being in the Bay Area is that you can find some incredible roads within a 2 hour drive -- from going north on the CA1 to Stinson Beach or going south to Montery/Carmel by the Sea and beyond. There's also some great mountain passes you can do.
Ryoko is whatever. If you want a better sushi experience in a hole-in-the-wall kinda thing I'd recommend Eiji on Sanchez St. For Italian go to Amarena on Russian Hill. Il Casaro for pizza in North beach. Burmese Kitchen, Amphawa Thai, and Boiling Pot are all great and they are all on Geary. I'll add more to the list later.
