It's OK friend. I know you'll post another update in a few days of the next European automaker posting record suv profits and destroying their sports line
One thing. In the same meal. Disgusting Americans.
By Lunatic Go To PostIf you are asking that question just buy a Tesla. You need to be more specific for use case, budget, cuv/suv/sedan/compact
By jongkookie Go To PostYep, we need more deets. If you've got questions about Volvo's XC40 Recharge, VW's ID4, and the Taycan, I might have answers for ya.
i know nothing about cars. i just need a decent mid sized family vehicle with as much range as possible but rarely need to drive more than 250km a day.
budget is tricky considering regional prices but toyota corolla hybrid levels i would guess as that is the one i will buy if i don't fancy any electric.
i'm replacing a prius if that helps. i need the PS5 of cars not a gamer pc.
the ID4 was on my list.
Oh lawd, the PS5 of electric cars would be a Porsche Taycan or anything above $90k USD. 👀
XC40 Recharge and the ID4 are more like the Xbox Series S.
If you want space, then the XC40 probably isn't for you as it's pretty much a boxy compact SUV, but there's still lots of space so it might work. The ID4 is bigger, maybe the size of a Mazda CX-5 or a Toyota RAV4 but you really need to get into one and acclimate yourself to it coz it's kinda counter-intuitive at first, until you get used to it.
Range wise both cars get over 400km AFAIK so it's not really an issue.
Okay wtf, as an American, even I'm now disgusted.
The fuck man lmao.
Lmaooo. Maybe they'll just take an Urus and put a smaller body on it. That might work right?

My bingo predictions:
• Stylised NACA duct on the doors
• Some form of teledial wheel
• Rear light treatment roughly in line with those of the original Countach
• The shape of the rear wheel arch cutouts to mimic Countach ones
• A slatted engine cover
By DiPro Go To PostTy.
If you're replacing a Prius, the EVs to look at are:
Hyundai Ioniq
Chevy Bolt
Nissan Leaf
All can be had on dirt ass cheap leases. We have an Ioniq we used to replace an ancient Rav4 that we're getting for well under 200 a month and it's great.
If you intend to use it for road trips, I'd recommend a PHEV and would be looking at:
Rav4 PHEV
Prius PHEV
Ioniq PHEV
Honda Clarity PHEV (while you can still get one)
not a fan of PHEV and they're mad expensive here. i'd rather go for the corolla. we have a second car if we want to go longer. the EV would be for daily commute type of stuff.
i'll check those out ty. (chevy aren't sold here)

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the EQS sedan, its flagship electric vehicle, will cost at least $100,000, as it began taking orders in Germany on Tuesday. The base model, which has a 90kWh battery pack and uses a single electric motor to power the rear wheels, starts at €106,374.10 — roughly $124,000. The more expensive dual-motor, all-wheel drive variant features a 107.8kWh battery pack and will start at €135,529.10 — or nearly $159,000.wtf
For instance, Mercedes-Benz will electronically limit the steering angle of the rear wheels, but there will be an option after purchase to pay the company more money to increase that steering angle by a few degrees for a tighter turning radius.
There are, of course, more software-focused upsells that will be available. For €89 per month (after a year free, of course), EQS owners will get the privilege of playing Tetris, Sudoku, and other mini-games on the massive “hyperscreen” in the dashboard, among other features. Thanks Tesla

There's enough idiots with one hand on the phone whilst they drive, so i assume this is for them to expediate the moment where they kill someone or themselves.
This thing better be a proper Integra, hell I'll even take a luxury'd out Civic Si!
But if it's like the Countach(aka a cash grab) with some bullshit hybrid shenanigans on the HR-Vs platform, then no thanks.

If they do it right, it'll basically be the new Civic Type R with DCT, SH-AWD and a leather interior for 45-50K, in the low 3Ks weight-wise. But with how the TLX Type-S seems to have turned out, who knows? (Very good but too damn heavy)
$3.16 here
I miss when it used to be like $2 last year. Used to be like $25 every time I filled up, now it’s like $45

Reddit and Jalopnik have independently seen a Mercedes-Benz memo to the automaker's U.S. dealers bearing bad tidings for AMG fans. The memo explains in part that "MBAG has prioritized its focus to comply with various global, external and internal requirements, as well as several other factors, including but not limited to, challenges in the supply chain that have an impact on the product portfolio offered in the U.S. market." FYI, MBAG refers to the German company name, Mercedes-Benz AktienGesellschaft. The result is that Mercedes needs to temporarily suspend sales of 17 models in the U.S. for the 2022 model year, all powered by the hybridized 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. Thirteen are AMG 63 trims, three are regular Benz 550 and 580 trims, one a Maybach trim.RIP AMG
Saw a new Audi RS6 yesterday on the freeway. Oof it is so sexy and looks so much better than any other new car I've seen other than the Lexus LC500. He still gave props to the M3 though 😎

This Smokey/reilo beef is the most fun thing I've read all day lol.
This statement is moot imo. I'd argue that AMG has been dead ever since they put that nameplate on every single car they make. BMW is guilty of this too with their M brand but at least there's still a huge distinction between a proper M car and a M340i for example(which is pretty much the highest trim in the lineup that won't encroach the real M car).
As for gas, I only get my gas at Costco and you know shit is fucked when 93/premium is over $3 bucks(which it was today) here in Dallas. Just days ago it was under $3 bucks too. Hell it was around $2.50 2 weeks ago.

AMG V8 thing is just temporary. They've literally ran out of components to make them. Sales of the G-Class are INSANELY strong right now, so it must hurt MB to be stopping it for a year. People are paying 30K-40K over MSRP for these. It's fucking insane.
Had to come off $1700 today for my car, although it could've been worse. Sounded like a knocking engine from the car and i thought it was a wrap. Turns out the timing belt, water pump, and some other part have basically gone bad, and need to be replaced. The timing belt was mentioned to me when I did my 100k mile checkup...but I passed it off. The car is sitting at 129k miles (2014 model), and this is the first incident we've had outside of standard maintenance since we've had the car. Not bad. Onwards and upwards to 200k.
This got the wife and I talking about a second car (fr this time). We need one as my son is about to start school, and we'd like to get something with AWD.
Our Accord is paid off, and in great shape. I want to add aa high performance car and will most likely lease it. She wants a Macan (or Velar, but think she's really leaning Macan), but we'd be looking at the S trim to start. She'd be getting hers first (in the next 3 months).
As for me...I've been spending the last few days configuring M3 Competition Xdrive models to lease...👀
Comes in at about 90k. I'm intrigued by the V8 in the AMGs, and I feel like I should really look at the RS Audi's, but I'm not as drawn to them for some reason. Maybe a test drive would help. Either way, we'd have 3 cars (which has always been the plan), but trying to figure out the timing.
Part of me says just get a Hellcat lol

I remember looking at Accords years ago. One of my old bosses had one of the older models. Outside of tires, he spent about £500 on it. Only reason he doesn't have it anymore is because someone drove into it. Such reliable cars.

What about an Acura TLX Type-S? The one with the 350-something-hp turbo V6? Then again, it is just a souped up and luxury'd out Accord so I can understand why someone would hesitate at it, especially if you already had an Accord to begin with.
I'll also be the heathen and recommend the M3, it's actually a great car if you can get past that horrendous ass grille. Other than that, there's not really much I think besides what's already been mentioned. A C63 AMG would've been nice too I guess, but as mentioned above, good luck getting one this year much less next year.
May I interest you in a 2022 Volkswagen Arteon then? It'll be hitting the dealer lots in November(or shortly after the new GTI and Golf R comes out which is supposed to be next month). The 2022 version will get a 300hp and 295 ft-lb of torque engine vs the previous one that was around 30hp and 30 torques less. Best part tho is that it finally ditches the 8-speed automatic transmission for a proper VW dual-clutch automatic, meaning you get DSG farts and that it should actually be a somewhat decent sports sedan. I'm actually leaning towards the Arteon now since I really want to keep my GTI instead of selling it off for another thing.
EDIT: I think I'm buying a BRZ or GR 86 next year:

In terms of the exterior, the rear looks fantastic while sort of only looks okay? Feels like two different cars from front and rear.
Big fan of the interior though, a modernised classic interior.
Hot damn!
400HP twin turbo V6 with a manual transmission and a starting price of $40k(exactly the same as the 2003 350z accounting for inflation)?
Well shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.
When are they taking deposits?

I didn't recommend it. It's nice. But I wouldn't buy the shit.
By reilo Go To PostBattery died! Let's be fair
Not quite. The fuel sending unit stopped reporting fuel level to the display. It kept reading the car had fuel, meanwhile it had none. It was stuck at half. The battery dying must've been something that happened after the tow - I think it was never shut off and died. The issue has since, returned btw. My dad just basically fills the car up once it reaches half a tank.
Audis.
