By reilo Go To PostI've been doing the lock-on, but for every enemy I do hit, it feels like I slightly miss twice as many. Snipers are mostly manageable, it's birds that are tough cause they evade like a mfer. Some of the camera needs work.Prompto's skill works great with birds and bees. I usually turn to him for it.
Also Sword of The Wise. The short warp strike helps.
By Kuma Go To PostFFXII has no flaws!Still one of my favorites. <3
Yurt you should try FFXII once the remaster is out.
Do the Royal Arms level up with you?
Don't really like the 3 I've got tbh, keeping track of your health is hard enough without your own weapon draining it

By Hitch Go To PostDo the Royal Arms level up with you?I don't think so. I'm currently using the engine blade III. 204 dmg which eclipse the royal arms I have right now.

Aight so I played the first chapter and a couple questions
- should i just not bother selling things i pickup?
- is upgrading weapons worth it or should i buy/find new ones
- what's a good way to do the sphere grid thing?
- is there a specific way to trigger combo attacks?
- how do i get more AP
Love the game a lot so far. Although I can't tell if I'm struggling more with the camera, the controls (still using type A) or the actual combat. And I really hate that stasis mess. and the sprint chaining thing is dumb. idk who thought of that. but other than those things i love it.
they really made the daemons come out at night really quickly too
it feels more like borderlands with jrpg gameplay so far.

Just started chapter 2.
My only problem is with the camera and locking onto enemies. Very annoying.

By domino Go To PostAight so I played the first chapter and a couple questionsI'm probably doing it wrong but I found that buying unique weapons (off unique vendors, usually before a dungeon) is better than upgrading your current ones + using the ones you get off the tombs and bosses of course

in any case, upgrading is worth it up to chapter 6 or 7 I think.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To Postloving the game so far. While pressing R1, click R3 to auto lock to enemies. Then you can just use the right analog stick to cycle through them.

I tried switching to Type B controls but ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I'm gonna give it a while.
I can't dodge for shit for some reason yet. Too used to games that reward constantly attacking/pressure. Feels weird to not be able to cancel in this game. Like... REALLY fucking weird.

The party banter is destroying me. Serious stuff an thangs happening but they make happy smalltalk about how great the weather is.
I don't think the devs could settle on what they wanted their game to be. Light-hearted adventure where 4 Britney back-up dancers are on their way to the show, or bitter revenge story where N-sync are on a comeback tour.
So many things clash in such unbelievable, fake and thoughtless ways. There's shit seemingly cut everywhere. Even MGS5 had more consistency in it's setup and delivery.
I think i'm halfway through but i'm not really enthusiastic about continuing. And fucks sake why does there need to be a 5 second pause after some fights, or 3 second black screens getting in and out of the car, all these little pauses that add up to annoyance.

The characters shine during the main quests, the banter is just there to fill in the silence.
I finished it btw.
Brilliant end bosses (first several bosses and dungeons were garbage)
fucking sensational summons, dont miss a chance to whip them out especially against bosses
fantastic build up in the last chapter
absolutely fabulous chapter 9
I liked the antagonist's motive for once
and a pretty damn good and memorable ending.
Lots of negatives in the first few missions and in their approach to open world but overall I've enjoyed it quite a bit.
My first FF and JRPG wasn't a total disappointment you guys!

Yurt definitely needs to try dat FFXII when the remaster comes. My second favourite game in the series after V.

I'm enjoying the battle system far more than I thought I would. There's a huge leap in quality from the Duscae demo to the finished product. I also like the fact that battles don't last 30 seconds like they did in 13. Worst thing they ever did in that game was make you so overpowered you never got to hear the incredible string section of the battle theme.
One thing that bothers me so far is the lack of context for the story. I'm being told to go to meet my bride to be. Why? Insomnia has fallen. What went on the past to make the city fall under such threat? I know this is explained in this anime movies but that's not good story telling. I'm sure there's some semi interesting political machinations going on but it's useless if it's not told in game. FF 13 had the same problem. The exposition and interesting back story was all told in the codex. What we got on screen was a butchered version.

By Ciaran Go To PostOh I auto-assumed you meant 7 😂It's not! XII is a real-time MMO combat, thing. But you have a lot of control and options over your AI team mates. Think you'd like it.

Oh man this post-game dungeon is waaaaaaaaay better than every single dungeon COMBINED :lol
WHY hide this you fuckers
WHY hide this you fuckers
man I want to do all that cool wall-warping that i saw on youtube but every time i get the command prompt it just never warps me up. only to the bottom of whatever pillar/wall i'm trying to warp up on.
I absolutely don't mind the light banter. If they didn't the game would be too dark for its own good.
It's like in Uncharted 3. Nate being mostly dark in his banter in the 3rd game made it a chore.
Also all these criticism about Prompto makes me happy Im playing with the Japanese dub :D

Nothing was worse (for me) than running around Elder Scrolls in silence. I enjoy the banter because it provides the world some much needed charm.
I also like the banter. It entertains me.
I have a problem with needing to do every quest possible. I am about to start the sword in the waterfall quest but I am now lvl 40. Woops?

Until then, I'll be playing TLG for a while.
This game is pretty poor explaining where to complete some of these side quests, esp. the Takka ones where he wants certain meats and what not. No idea where to easily come across garula sirloin.

By Kibner Go To PostI also like the banter. It entertains me.most quests are designed with little thought put into them just so you can get basically an endless supply of XP and money, you'll get burned out and risk ruining the game eventually. Just avoid the fetch like quests (including hunts IMO) except for the ones with a clear and defined purpose from important supporting characters.

the guy that asks you to look for gems is helpful for example, as it can lead you to a couple of dungeons very close to his treasure.
By reilo Go To PostThe third ice dungeon was great.I made an absolute mess of that boss fight :lol I don't even remember what the fuck happened or what the fuck was happening during the fight. It got way outta control so I just burned the whole area along with my party to the ground :lol
it's safe to say we don't see eye to eye ever since.
the dungeons and bosses get progressively better and better so you're in for a treat

it's...not very Final Fantasy, that's all I'm gonna say.

By Kibner Go To PostHrmm… I don't remember, then. I even finished his quest line.Every guide I've looked up said to go to Duscae and find it there, I just need to find the animal. I had the same issue with his very first quest, because the description didn't say WHAT to get only WHERE and I waited a day or so to do it so I completely had forgotten his request. His second quest didn't have any of these issues lol. That one had a marker and proper description iirc.

Only being able to play this on weekends is killing me...
For the Takka quest with the meat (the level 11 one) is there any way to actually get in that area at the time you can accept the quest? I ran all around this huge wall but it doesn't look accessible.
