By Kibner Go To PostReilo, try talking to Takka again and looking at his hunts. I think one of them may have the beast that drops the meat you need. Some quests bring you to the tipster that hasd the hunt you need instead of automatically enrolling you in it or something.I managed to get some then got ambushed by Imperial soldiers and some other monsters and died lol
Also the rescue the regalia mission is fucking bullahit omg
Nothing was worse (for me) than running around Elder Scrolls in silence. I enjoy the banter because it provides the world some much needed charm.
Divinity: OS did banter pretty well.. But I loved the Elder Scrolls silence and turning a corner and running into some crazy monster and running while saying "oh shit oh shit oh shit" out loud lol...
But you guys are making FF sound hype... make be a 2017 buy when it gets dry
I'm a little confused how Summons work:
1. When do they activate?
2. How long am I supposed to hold the button for? There's no feedback

By reilo Go To PostI'm a little confused how Summons work:I've been struggling with that for a while. Turns out that they're all contextual (I've only ever got Ramuh) and you have to hold the button for an age.

The holding the button down thing is weird especially in Wait mode because Wait mode kicks in if you're just standing there holding the button wondering wtf your summon is, and it then leaves you exposed and distracted from attacks. Best practice I guess is to run to a clear area and then summon?
Been too absorbed with playing Pokemon Moon. I will start and boot this up soon since I spent too much for it + season pass.
I guess I will need to rent and watch Brotherhood and Kingsglaive first too.

one triggers when you're struggling and the fight is taking way too long
you'll always get one fighting a boss outdoors IIRC

Finished the game last night.
The open world design is a complete waste, if i'm honest. It's littered with fuck all to do outside of triggering horrible side-quests that amount to either:
Go fetch this
Go kill this and fetch it's meat/horn/whatever
Go fetch these 5 things littered around the specified area
Glad it went linear for the final 3rd.

By Facism Go To PostFinished the game last night.Yeah it's nothing like Witcher 3, then again nothing is. That game just set a high bar that will take some devs years to catch up.

I enjoyed them though, loving even the slow rides towards the areas. Game is pretty relaxing and just what I needed.
By Facism Go To PostI will say i thought it ended up being a thoroughly decent game by the end. A solid 6.5/10 for me.Google how to get to the secret dungeon please, and play it NOW. Easily the highlight of the game..
Dont spoil what it is though 😇
A co-worker of mine is L73... and he's on Chapter 3. He has 700AP he can't figure out what to do with it.
By reilo Go To PostA co-worker of mine is L73… and he's on Chapter 3. He has 700AP he can't figure out what to do with it.LoL. Get all the teamwork abilities under 100 AP for sure. Two accessories for everyone, magic stuff under 100, combat techniques under 100, etc. Basically get all the things that change gameplay and the extra accessory slot first.
By reilo Go To PostAlso, wtf do debased coins do? I hear they help you level easier, but I can't find exactly how?https://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/932981-final-fantasy-xv/74659761
Crafting, apparently. I sell everything down to 5 so I've already lost a few. Oh, well.
By Kibner Go To Posthttps://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/932981-final-fantasy-xv/74659761Wait, how do you combine Fire with coins? Is it that 4th empty slot or whatever?

some of them give OP effects
How many unique enemies are there in the open world?
Personally seen the Bandersnatch behind Hammerhead, the Griffon near Alster Slough, the Kujata near the Nebulawood and the Midgar Zolom thingy near the waterfall

I wish there was more of the first phase of the leviathan fight. That kind of setup could be some real fun.

ah put my posts out of order.
It's still a decent game outside of the side-quest shenanigans. I didn't bother with most of them and was happy with an increased focus on progression later on in the game. Glad square pulled off an enjoyable game despite it's myriad issues.
Late game spoiler, that Ifrit fight was hype as fuck. warp-strike chains a mile above the ground all in your control, the cutscenes around it. All the big fights should have been that much of a spectacle. Great fucking music, too.
Would definitely be interested in a XV-2 if they attempt to get some mileage out of the setting and characters. There's a decent world and story here if you can fill in the huge gaps and inconsistencies.

the build up, majestic entrance, music, boss design, phases, summon...everything combined beautifully.
it's neat when you use ice spells too

Shiva's words allude to a longstanding beef between her and Ifrit. According to the guidebook Ifrit is the cause of the Daemon scurge because of his hatred of humanity, Ardyn was the first king of Lucis and put a stop to his shit with the help of the Astrals centuries ago, apparently killing Ifrit in the process.
Now they're best pals because of how Ardyn got shafted over the arrangement. There's so much here that could have been expanded on that is either poorly explained in the game or completely left out. Seemingly Ifrit is the actual main antagonist.
And man the Nif leadership being shown in one cutscene, never to be heard from again until you fight Ravus. Possible interesting political story elements left on the cutting floor.

By YungMagus Go To PostYa'll takin on the night road monsters yet?good defense and smart item/magic use let you deal with enemies up to 20 levels stronger than you imo

i dont afraid of anything
except that snake on the way to the waterfall dungeon. don't fuck with him
Basically if you stand still then "Wait" kicks in. It allows you to lock onto an enemy and scan them. Helpful with bosses where the Libra takes forever to scan, so you can just chill while it does it. It also allows you to target enemies better.
By domino Go To Posthow does this game play in "wait" mode? i dont know anyone that's played it yeti've been using it but its just jarring no matter how i feel. i can't understand why its triggered by idling instead of a button press.
there are times when its useful... you can track aggro (which is great), use items easier, scope out warppoints, etc. the issues i have are -----why the fuck does it take so long to analyze anything-----
like come the fuck on. there's plenty of things that take up your time in this game, libra shouldn't be one. on top of that, the information that could and should be there during analyzing (or waiting in general) is lacking. if wait mode is to be thing, and basically a way for you to gather information, plan, and sort through details THEN it should give you additional information that is appropriately fitting.
tell me that snipers like to hold at certain ranges, tell me that certain beasts like to gather together, tell me that certain appendages dictate certain attacks/abilities
'weak against daggers' is trash
Beat the story. Loved the bros and a handful of side characters. Villains weren't compelling. Narrative is a complete bust. Love the setting and gameplay, though, and look forward to the remaining sidequests and post-game content.
By DY_nasty Go To PostIs Prompto the worst FF party member ever?
It's his voice that does my head in, that and he talks a lot but really has nothing to say.
Looks like my guess was correct, they will be adding some stuff into the game to make it more complete and redoing a certain chapter to be not shit.
Glad they are. I know there are some who are mad about this but... I like it. Game is certainly trash in a few areas when it comes to story and this is something I welcome.

I played with English voices. Refuse to believe the original script was this full of puns and dumb shit. Unfortunately, even though you can play in Japanese, the English subs remain the same.
By DY_nasty Go To PostIs Prompto the worst FF party member ever?Could probably make a sizable list of ones that are worse.
By jjasper Go To PostCould probably make a sizable list of ones that are worse. The entire cast of FF VII minus Red XIII and possibly members you get after him is a good start, for me.
