CPS yes uh how do I report a dude who sends his kids to school with stale bread and a weird smelling condiment.
I saw the thread about dude preaching in the street that Santa isn't real but Jesus is.
Decided not to post there because the verdict was already in. We actually did the same thing. Decided not to lie to the kids. No tooth fairies or Easter bunnies, either. We still get them gifts, do egg hunts and all that, but we didn't want them beholden to fictional characters. As a courtesy, we told them not to tell their friends.
Y'all thought about what you were going to tell your kids about pots of gold at the ends of rainbows and such?

Christmas is a very special time of year to me and my family. We don't really celebrate other milestones, but chrismas, we go all in on. And i loved the whole thing as a kid, santa, reindeer, snow, little drummer boys, frosty, all of it.
Wouldn't deny that to my offspring.
Still extremely early and so we're not getting our hopes up completely yet as we've had a miscarriage, but my wife is pregnant again. She's about 3-4 weeks pregnant. Just barely enough to pop positive on a test but just shy of being late for her period. She just felt weird and took three tests and they all showed up with a faint line.
Hopefully this all goes through smoothly and we'll have our second 1.5 years apart from the first in late August.
Shits about to get realer.

Thanks ... we're keeping it on the low until we hear that heartbeat. Then we're telling everyone.
My wife's first delivery ended in C Section so we get to schedule this one.

By Kidjr Go To PostDid you know you can't give baby's honey?
Not until after we had the child and started looking up foods for kids. Pretty crazy but not that big of a deal considering they don't recommend sugar of any type until after 1 as well.
I also didn't know strawberries are highly reactive to kids under 1 too. Lots of kids break out from them and its often recommended to wait until after a year for them as well.

Eh
My son's been eating those Gerber pods for about 2 months now. His main nourishment still comes from formula, but 2/3 times a day he'll eat those fruit or veggie pods, and I'm sure the fruit ones have some sugar in them. Actually had his 9 month check up today, and everythings good. On the paper we got at the office it does explicitly say to wait on juice until after 1 yr.

Yeah our daughter is eating these cereal puffs that taste like banana that has super small amount of sugar in them. It's pretty minor though. I just googled those Gerber capsules and they have no added sugar FYI. Fruit juice is only recommended in small quantities too because of the same.
I think Honey has to do with some enzyme that babies don't have which we need to break the honey down. So it's harmful and not just unhealthy.

Ah ok. I just assumed fruit = sugar even in those capsules.

Ahhhh .... yeah I thought it was something like that.

Added sugar. Natural sugar through fruit is ok.

This.

Welp ...
My wife either has a Molar Pregnancy or the sonogram they took was too early to tell if it was a fetus or a tumor. She been bleeding for over a week now though. Really really good chance it's either a Molar pregnancy or another miscarriage. We're hoping it's not a molar pregnancy because we can't try for a child for 6-12 months if it is. It would be a miracle for this to be a healthy pregnancy right now.
She has a sonogram tomorrow along with blood tests to check the HCG levels. She may be sent to surgery tomorrow (D&C).
I'm just happy we have a little girl this time. It's made coping for my wife so much easier when she can look at her and know that this difficult process results in something we love so much.
Hoping for the best man
Pregnancy is really fucking challenging. It's like the body wants to reject it at times.
Really hoping everything works out for you two.

The first lost miscarriage was really hard. This one has been better but it's still rough on the wife. Thanks for your thoughts, much appreciated. Right now I'm just hoping it isn't a molar pregnancy and we can try again soon.
Pregnancy is hard and having a child isn't easy. You hear all these horror stories in HS about getting girls knocked up on the first time having sex etc etc and you're just conditioned to think that when you finally want to have kids it's as easy as busting a load. It's not. 20% of known pregnancies end in miscarriage, but they suspect the number is higher because so many people have an early miscarriage and it's assumed that it's just a late period.
That being said, I'm not sure how many more miscarriages my wife will / can go through. We're only 1/3 for successful pregnancies so far.
My daughter is in full on terrible two's mode. She dumped an entire bottle of cooking oil on the floor last night, I asked her why and she said "I don't know" in the cutest little voice (my wife got mad at me for laughing) She's so stubborn too, everytime you tell her no it's the end of the world. On the bright side she's really talking now, like full conversations. She spent 15 minutes trying to convince me that girrafes were just the parents of horses.

lmao this sounds so cute tbh.
So yeah my wife went back to work but I didnt realize how expensive child care was.
Welp ... I guess it's good it's just a miscarriage and not a molar pregnancy. It's really difficult trying to frame a miscarriage as a positive to my wife though. She's super down, understandably so. Hopefully the recovery doesn't drag though and we can get right back to trying again. I've got a feeling that if we miscarry for a 3rd time she'll start questioning if she really wants to try for #2. It's hard as a male dealing with this too because you just can't relate in any way to what your partner is going through ...
I'm going to have to move in 1-2 years towards the beach. My dad wants to retire and has plenty of equity and wants to be closer to the beach. I personally would like to not move and have some disposable income for once instead of living for my mortgage, but then I thought, "fuck if they move Grandma can't babysit and I"ll have to fork out for childcare!" I would rather pay for a mortgage than childcare so we will be moving. At least the mortgage is tax deductible and some of it goes to equity.

Yo am I evil for thinking of turning my child from a lefty into a righty, my mum did it with me but seems archaic lol
Don't turn your kid. Just help them along in making the right useful. Many of my lefty friends are pretty fucking ambidextrous, I'm jealous.
Sorry to hear Fender :/
I plan to make my son ambidextrous lol. Need him to hitem with a euro step left or right layup by 1st grade

We were sitting a the table playing a family game that came with the kids meals at Chick Fil A. This game was to challenge someone to do something you can do but you think they can't. Wife is the only person who can roll her tongue into a "U." I said she was a weirdo all in good fun, etc.
My youngest son turns to my oldest daughter and says "bet you can't whistle" and whistles in her face. She flusters, and he points to her and says "Gotcha! And we all laugh." So then she starts shedding tears crying. Wife is like ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW? We tell her to excuse herself to her room until she can compose herself.
She's 10 in the 5th grade and will be in the 6th grade next year. She a perfectionist...the boys can get in trouble 1000000000000 times but if she messes up once, she's fighting back tears. Wife thinks she's overly sensitive because when she was pregnant, her sister died, and she was emotional during the brain development stage of my daughter's incubation.
Wife said she was sensitive, but not THAT sensitive as a child. Her dad used to yell/verbally abuse. (I *was* the oldest/alpha/bully/smartass when I was a kid sooooo....).
Any advice on how to help coach super-sensitive child would be appreciated. My wife was so disgusted that she was originally going to take her to an American Girl store this weekend but decided not to....

Y'all kind of sound like dicks. She's in middle school now which means starting of puberty, hormones and every other classmate being a raging little bullying jackass. Why be so hardass?
Saw the echo live the other day for the first time and saw my kid's face😍😍😍 Appears we are a having a baby girl!
Not having any kids yet PR I can't tell you exactly the best route... but from teaching kids for about 12 years I can tell you that her behavior isn't really a problem unless you make it one.
