By Kabro Go To PostAmd Reddit will burn to the ground if Lisa doesnt announce 5ghz and no benchmarks.I've only been expecting like 4.3-4.4 GHz on the 16/32 c/t chips, tbh.
Will there be a stream for computex?
Steve Burke says most of the Ryzen 3 details won't be announced at Computex, just mostly X570 info... with the desktop specs to come at E3.
Told y'all if AMD had 16 core running at 5Ghz they would've been shouting it from the heavens, but all these shitcunts "leaking" specs for views, ad revenue and clout had you blinded
"It's just what i was told!" Says guy who gets paid to talk about processors but still apparently knows less about them than a random enthusiast.
12 core confirmed
Ryzen 9 confirmed
65W and 105W parts?
3800X $399 8c16t
3900X $499 12c24t
Something is 3.8/4.6GHz
56 x570 mobos, most at Computex
7/7 launch
3700x is 28% faster than the 9700k in cinebench r20, more single and multi thread performance at lower power
15% IPC increase!!!
🤔 🤔 🤔
Only 4.6 max
RIP AMD
Funny... the next time I spend 2 weeks watching vids on learning Adobe Premiere Pro cc 2019, going through online training tutorials and even taking an intro class on it for video editing, I JUST MIGHT want to see if my computer has the RAM to run it. I turned that shit on and uploaded a hour and a half long video to edit, and my computer after a couple minutes was like "F*ck this I'm out". Apparently I misread the RAM requirements, I thought it said 16 GB minimum and it actually said 32 GB minimum.
Yeah i think so. 4.6Ghz + IPC Improvement + better IMC for less than Intel's counterpart is good! It's just not magical.
If you wanted something flat out better for gaming than the 9900K (now the 9900KS) then yeah maybe dont be so hyped.

rYzEn 9 looks intriguing. Basically killed Intel's HEDT platform.
I'm hoping we get some monitor news. I've been eyeing a 1440p monitor and I'd like something that has HDR etc.

whats the point of monitor news anymore

yeah. it's a bit...weird.
By HottestVapes Go To PostYou're getting 8 cores at 4.5Ghz, 4.6Ghz maximum. IPC close to Skylake, if not on par with. Don't believe the hype.
Here’s my guess from January 3rd. How’d I do?
great. I'm suspecting you didn't expect for them to phase out the threadripper platform which is why the cores were off...

No idea. I didn’t think they’d start eating into to their own market share by going higher than 8 cores on the desktop CPUs while still likely having an abundance of 12 and 16 core Threadrippers.
From what I’ve read so far though, their line up is better than I expected. Not liking all these motherboards with fan on them, but I’m seeing some really nice looking ITX and even a DTX boards.
Personal pick would be the 3700X or 3900X.
Would be wonderful if they provided the same level of competition for Nvidia, but I guess that's asking too much.
also, wow @ a 64 core epyc server chip :o
e: man, those power draw and performance increase improvements may turn around the laptop sector in favor of amd for the first time ever

Looking forward to the reviews and benchmarks when they drop. I’ve no interest in upgrading my 9600K but I’d love to squeeze that Asus DTX board in my NCase just because it’s such a niche form factor.
Can't wait to replace the chipset fan on X570 with a passive heatsink, like in the old days. I think I still have one of Zalman's somewhere in the attic.

Full cover waterblocks for motherboards when?
I read somewhere on reddit that puget systems already has samples ready to be published but there's some kind of embargo.
really itching to see how 3900x performs on certain softwares.

Funny thing to note on that Gigabyte ITX board, the powerstages are a higher amp (70a), but it's still a 6+2 phase VRM and it's $220.
The Asus B350i I bought (and still have) for my R5 1600 was £150, 6+2 phase VRM and 60a power stages IIRC. Can imagine it'd handle the 3900X fine at stock settings.
Not complaining about the price though, I get the reasoning behind it increasing.
what is this monstrosity
is this just an enthusiast thing or are they gonna make normal motherboards with pcie4
By rerixo Go To Postwhat is this monstrosity

The perspective makes it look like the PCIE slot is blocked, but it isn't. The highest end Gigabyte board doesn't have a fan either.
Putting some genuine serious thought into a full custom loop again. Been pricing it up, should run me around £350 all in if I go with a cheaper pump/res but around £400-£500 if I go with the dream (Swiftech ApogeeDrive II and custom NCase external reservoir).
Also toying with the idea of doing a GPU loop first, then adding the CPU to the loop later on since my 9600K is totally fine on air but I really want to fuck around with water cooling just to do it.
Decisions, decisions.

Fufufu.
You (and Kib) have talked me off the ledge.
Now that I've slept on it, considering the 3900X for sure.
Can't wait to "BUT SMOKEY" this summer.
By diehard Go To Post? Premier should run OK with just 16GBYeah I tried that... my computer bugged the eff out the minute I tried trimming the vid. I'm using Openshot for now but I have to spend another $150 on memory if I want to use the stupid software.

Nvidia released their "Nvidia Studio Driver" but im confused by it, is this replacing the "Creator Ready" driver? Are these optimizations for these apps not available in the Game Ready driver? I mean they even highlighted game streaming on the video.. and that doesn't make any sense.

Happy with the X27 since I bought it, a newer version coming out that's better isn't going to invalidate my happiness with the product I purchased. I could go the Smokey route and sell this one and pay the difference for the newer model, but nah. I'm happy.

Who knows when it's coming out either. If I build an AMD rig like i was alluding to a few weeks ago, I'll probably just keep it, and run either rig on it. I need to replace my B6 OLED next year , which I'm definitely going to do, and hook a rig up to that.
Operation no cable left behind is proceeding well. I'm almost done, just need to add a USB extension cable for my cheapo foot pedals (which are routed through a slim wall channel, along with DP / HDMI / monitor power cables) and affix a net of sorts on the desk's underside for any USB charging cables, so I can conveniently tuck them away when not in use. Non-garbage retractable USB cables are not a thing, as it turns out.
Really happy with how it's all been coming along. That Ikea cable rack is a godsend. Plenty of space for two big power strips, a couple of power bricks and all the cables, with room to spare for future additions. Glad I went with the giant Galant rack instead of the smaller Signum. Also glad I bought the below cable clips instead of the more readily available round push-in ones. Plenty of space for thicc speaker & power wires with these.
Turns out I have no real need to wrap the cables coming out the back of the PC in a sleeve, which I bought just in case. My Define C is hanging right below my desk and so even if I go out of my way to peek under the table, all I see is 10-15 cm long bundle of cables going up and to the left to the Ikea rack. I suppose I could cut off a 10cm strip from the sleeve and wrap that shit up to appease my inner cable nazi.
As for the wall / arm mounted X34A, I wish I had bought an even longer DisplayPort cable. 1.8m is somehow still not enough to have as much slack as I'd ideally want behind the display, though so far I haven't had much need for moving the monitor around. Even so there's enough for a good 20-25cm of movement in any direction, so I'm probably good. The only scenario in which I'd maybe need to have the monitor much closer to me is if I one day decide to mount a couple of flight sticks at the front of the desk, which would no doubt have me sitting further away.
So, yeah, virtually no cable in sight as I walk around the room and sit down. I even got rid of the cables coming out of the two floor lamps to the left and right of the desk ... by hanging them. I need to de-ghetto the zip ties, clip the four legs and paint / carbon wrap the mounts (goes for the LED strip mount as well), but you get the idea. A great side effect is that it makes cleaning / vacuuming the room that much less annoying.
Feeling pretty good at the moment m8s.
