big facts lad
May have found a new 60% board, lads. Hate the name of the brand, but a 60% keyboard with hot swappable switches and it's RGB?! Sign me the fuck up.

I was never into smaller keyboards, but now I really want to get a bigger mousepad for my BR needs. A small keyboard would be instrumental to having everything positioned exactly how and where I want it to on the desk. 60% version of the Logitech G633 pls.

I wish Logitech would make a 60% board.
It's just really fucking comfy having a smaller board. I keep mine at an angle for all the extra mouse space, plus I find it a lot easier on wrist that way. It's just great for me. The Anne Pro I have currently has been good for the most part, but it's bugged out on me twice in the last month. Goes completely unresponsive and needs resetting to go back to normal. If it weren't for that, i'd recommend it since the build quality is good and it's a pretty cheap board to buy from Banggood.
By Adam Go To PostSFF… Small keyboard. Vapes must be oompa loompa size. 😉
I'm a tall and rotund man, don't doubt it.
Asetek have come through with a 545LC revision. The new 645LT
https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/ayaep3/asetek_launches_645lt_to_replace_545lc_for_sffpcs/
The release coincides nicely with the DAN A4-SFX V4 release.
We have been working with Daniel from DAN Case on which changes to implement. At the same time we've tried to implement as many of his requests as we could. And I'd say we've done a pretty good job.
What changes is the 645LT bringing then?
-Asetek Generation 6 pump
-Noise reduction foam in the pump cap
-90 degree angled bends on the hex
-Slightly longer tubes to ease installation
we've kept the original non-sleeved tubing due to requests from the community.

By Zabojnik Go To PostWhy can't you just be happy with a mid tower case like the rest of us.
Where's the fun and challenge in that?
New bios update reset all my mobo settings and I forgot to save my oc settings so I had to redo my ram. Stable at 3200 now, thanks to the new update.
SSD's inching closer to my desired 2TB for $200 price mark. Saw the Intel 660p for $220 (not quite performant enough for me) and a WD drive that should be much better for $250.
A month or so removed from building the new rig, and I'm really happy with it. Really quiet. Fast. No mechanical disk drive, just SSDs. Everything is snappy. Feel good about the 32GB of RAM. Using 13.7GB at the moment (42%). Plenty of headroom for whatever else.
10/10 would do again

God bless vlc for being open/free and able to play pretty much anything you can throw at it. There are children that do no the horrors of realmedia formats.
By Zabojnik Go To PostI don't know, I think it's high time we started shaming non-NVMe SSD owners.
I’ve come close to buying a 970 and every time I come to the realisation that my regular M.2 is good enough.
I am considering 32Gb of RAM though.

Waiting for the silver Royals to come in stock on OCUK first. Need the 16x2 kit.
24 would have been more than enough for me, personally, but they don't really make kits to fit that size anymore.
By Smokey Go To PostNvidia bought Mellanox for $6.9 billion. Wooow.Makes sense, they already have the intra-node interconnect so now they can expand to inter-node. I haven't been able to use much Mellanox stuff, just some of their 10Gbe NIC's.. nothing special like Infiniband.

A friend of mine is looking to buy a 27" 1440p 144hz+ monitor. Budget is on the low-ish side and he's perfectly fine with a TN panel.
What's the go to these days? Still the Asus PG278QR? Someone here owns the Dell S2716DG, if I remember correctly. How is it?

Yeah bought it for my nephew on black friday.
Reasonably priced 27" 1440p 144hz with gsync.
He's still loving it for gaming.
And modern tn panels have come a long way.
It looks remarkable. The only thing where its weak is the black levels, its a bit washed.

The price difference is only like 50€ between the Dell and the Asus over here, so I'll probably recommend the latter.
If it's good enough for the gamer Laboured, it's good enough for my friend.

Fuuuuuu a true successor to my air 540 I need it
Except it's actually shit.
$250 could get you a really nice looking, functional and solid built case. Not this oversized bullshit covered in plastic.
By Smokey Go To PostNonsense. It can't be worse than my 540 , which I really like.Even HardwareCanucks shit on it, and they like everything.

Restricted airflow, not great cable management, cheap construction, and for a case with mounts for TWO 280mm radiators and a 360mm radiator, using a 360mm will conflict with installing either 280mm radiator.
Basically, it's $250 and you're paying for some plastic, a bad chassis and a lot of RGB fans. No bueno.
