Competing with themselves in the GPU space and still making pro consumer moves like this and enabling Freesync on Nvidia GPUs.
I ‘spposeit could be spun as them walling these features off in the first place, but meh. It’s good a move in my eyes.
After months of Googling, I finally found out the Arctic Accelero III is gucci on a 2080Ti. Makes full contact with the die (unlike the Morpheus II), just requires some extra finagling with the small heatsinks on the GDDR6 chips for a flush fit.
Now to wait for pay day.

Good to know I'll be able to transfer the AA3 from my 1080ti, if and when I upgrade. Hopefully it'll fit on Nvidia's next gen cards as well.
I think I'll able to sell my current EVGA card faster, if I put the original cooler back on anyway.

Craft is a pretty decent smaller channel.
Doesn't mean you'll get me to like itx doe. 😞
Noctua still remain the gods of aircooling. Can't wait to see more Sterrox fans from them in 92mm and 140mm sizes and more updated heatsinks to go with them.
For Kado and others who may use their GPU to render stuff: https://www.techspot.com/news/79296-nvidia-announces-launch-creator-ready-drivers.html
awesomesauce.
and with the news of Arnold GPU Beta Renderer finally going public this week,
exciting times indeed.

Rehoused my PC today, back in the Cougar QBX and I'm planning to sell off my DAN A4. All in pursuit of another tiny case to cram all my shit in.
Back to my beloved Noctua D9L for now too. Such a good fucking heatsink.

Yay, got my Steam controller working in multiple games I was having trouble with. Had to install GloSC: https://alia5.github.io/GloSC/. The install file is here, if anyone else wants to check it out: https://github.com/Alia5/GloSC/releases/download/2.0.5/GloSC-installer.exe
By SUPER YARAK Go To PostDon't hate on vapes for liking a tight fit
calm down, auto
By SUPER YARAK Go To PostIf you don't need lube to fit a 2080ti, Vapes don't care.
The Cougar QBX is actually huge tbh. Can fit a 320mm long thicc af GPU, a 140mm CPU heatsink, a 240mm AIO, etc. It’s basically a regular desktop case just shorter
Nothing major and I'm still investigating. It's mostly a case of me being careless. Stupid, really. What happened is I suddenly couldn't access my main email account, which I've had forever and is tied to my internet provider. Apparently someone has changed the password.
I used to have a pretty simple password, which I used for almost every site on the interwebs. I've since seen the light and started using unique secure passwords (thanks to LastPass, mostly), however when updating I opted not to change the super old & easy to brute-force-hack email password, because it happens to be the same as my parent's internet and TV access password at their home and I didn't want them to have to deal with it.
Anyway, I've forgotten all about it and only thought of it hours ago, but a couple of days ago I received a notification from Steam saying that the password of my secondary Steam account has been changed. I completely forgot about it, because I was too busy playing Apex and I haven't used that account in years anyway. That account is tied an email address that is an alias of my main address. Same inbox and password, obviously.
So I guess someone must've hacked that old Steam account, found out which email address was tied to it and and started doing ... unsavoury things with it. I talked to customer support and apparently my email's been disabled because of suspicious activity, most likely a flood of spam. I'll have to call them from my father's phone, which is the number on the contract. Too late now, I'll have to wait until tomorrow.
Needless to say, that fucking password is getting purged forever, heh.

Add another number and that's pretty much the password, yeah. I've got nothing to hide, my dear Ninja.

In fairness, soon the only part of my PC with RGB will be the motherboard.
Gonna go with an Accelero III and two of those new Noctua sterrox fans underneath it for the GPU when I get paid. Considering buying those EK Monarch RAM heatsinks too since they look fucking neato. Then eventually, switch to an NCase.
what's a good case to build a workstation?
havent decided on the 9900k or the upcoming ryzen 3000
but my needs are:
plenty of slots/mounts for ssd and 3.5 HDD
-multiple gpu. so maybe a case thick enough to handle a vertical mount.
-air cooled.
I was looking at the Lian Li PC-011 WW/WX as a good option.

that case is mostly for open loop cooling (obviously can be used with just air) and you could save some money by going with some other cases, i can recommend some later.
Just curious, why multiple GPU?

Dark Base PRO 900 Black rev.2, maybe? I haven't really looked into cases lately, but this one caught my eye when searching for a few minutes.

Vray uses both cpu and gpu(s).
What other cases are recommended? I do like those new fandangled dual chamber chasis.
E: thanks, Kib, Ill check it out!

After watching that review, it may also be worth checking out the Silverstone RL06 and FT02 (same as RV02, but better). They offer better thermals.
yeah, ive got to consider thermal performance too.
there are renders that take 12hrs+ sometimes and the cpu and gpu are working at 100% load.

By Smokey Go To PostFT02 is old AFAnd, yet, still the best performing air cooling case out there. Especially if you upgrade the AP181 fans to AP182...
e: oh snap, silverstone now has a new AP183 fan, which is an upgraded version of the 181: https://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=847&area=en
not sure how it compares to the 182, yet
e2: after glancing at specs and such, it looks like the 182 has more performance (if you max it out) but the 183 does not take nearly as much power, so you can have it plugged into your motherboard instead of needing to feed it external power

Here’s a handy few lists of cases ranking performance in thermals and noise. Though keep in mind it’s “out of the box” testing for the most part, some may perform much better if decked out with good fans.
Anything that’ll allow unobstructed airflow and a Noctua D15 should be sound for you.
