By LFMartins86 Go To PostNetflix bought the rights for Andy Serkis's Mogwai from Warner Bros.Mogli. You had me thinking he was going to be in the rumored new Gremlins movie.
It was supposed to come out on theaters in October but now it will be released globally by Netflix on early 2019.

By diehard Go To PostMogli. You had me thinking he was going to be in the rumored new Gremlins movie. My fault, my brain just goes directly to Mogwai when it sees a name starting with "Mog".
Gizmo has to be the best fictional pet of all times.

Of the two movies set in Oakland that have been released this month, Blindpsotting is the one that affected me far more. I suggest trying to see it if your local theater has it.
Fallout was great. Those chase scenes in Paris were incredible, just fantastic film-making. Some of the best set-pieces i've ever seen in a movie. Christopher McQuarrie should probably be nominated for a best director Academy Award for real.
Feeling very vindicated that my feeling towards McQ after Way Of The Gun and Usual Suspects was that this man is fucking good.
Still need to check out Way of the Gun.
Saw MI: Fallout today and goddamn that shit was insane hahaha. Great action movie.

Decided to rewatch all the Mission : Impossible movies since they are all on Netflix here and the cinema is closed in August on the island so I will probably only get to watch MI6 in September.
Watched the first one tonight, forgot how old it was but still holds up.
It's crazy how different the series has become.

By FortuneFaded Go To PostI wonder who wrote itI can't believe Vin Diesel is still part of the cast. is like burning money
He gets paid silly money for one line which could easily be done by the most rudimentary impressionist and any freeware audio mixing programme
And they say footballers get paid too much

Dear MoviePass Members,
First and foremost, I want to personally apologize to each of you for the inconsistencies and unreliability of our service over the past few days. Additionally, I regret our lack of proactive communication with you during this time; we are working hard to improve the communications to our community moving forward.
Over the last several days, we’ve begun making changes to our service that will help us continue to offer our members a high-value, low-cost, in-theater movie experience.
We believe that the company we have built — the fastest growing subscription company in history with more than 3 million members — has revolutionized the movie industry in the U.S. The first half of 2018 saw the total box office grow by almost 10 percent compared to last year, and we know MoviePass is responsible for a significant portion of that unprecedented growth.
In order to continue growing our service and maintaining a high level of financial discipline, we need to make some modifications:
We must reduce availability for big new-release titles, such as Mission: Impossible - Fallout and other popular new releases, at least for a while as we adjust the business model. We are working on making this more clear in the app so you know which titles are available.
Showtimes that are offered through our service will vary from day to day, and every showtime may not be available. We encourage you to check the MoviePass app for showtimes before you leave for the theater.
While our customer service team has made great strides of late, we still have a long way to go to provide the most responsive customer service experience for you. In the meantime, access to immediate support may become limited. However, we are working to prioritize the requests of members who are at the theater and introduce more self-help tools, as well as focus our resources on fixing glitches and bugs in the app.
Finally, we want to be as transparent as we can with these changes and any future changes. We are committed to giving you the best experience. We count on your support and loyalty while we implement these necessary steps for the company you’ve grown to love.
Thank you for your understanding and patience, and we’ll be in touch with more updates as we have them.
Mitch Lowe, CEO of MoviePass
I've cancelled my sub.
I thought I could make it through the day without watch it. I've just seen and heard so many bad things about it, that I decide to take the plunge. And OMG, that is atrocious. I dunno what the fuck Tom Hardy is thinking with that accent. And a turd in wind? RAZZIES incomming
Watching The Negotiator. Underrated film. I'm not sure what has aged worse though, Spacey's reputation or Jackson's hair.
Heavy hitters are going to start rolling out and people think BP has a chance against stuff like If Beale Street Could Talk

By RATHasReturned Go To PostI'll keep repeating it until proven wrong, Black Panther is gonna get nominated for a lot of categories that it shouldn't. It's the large box office movie for the Academy and their voters to show how hip (woke) they are and an opportunity to laud it get people talking.
C'mon it's not like the Oscars aren't uniformly handed out to shit and undeserving movies on a yearly basis anyways.
this is one of the most stacked years in terms of quality movies since 2008. Only those ignorant about all the films releasing during award season would believe that BP has a chance.
So I finally caught up to the rest of humankind and watched Infinity War . It is probably useless to do a spoiler warning for a movie im the last person on earth to catch, but to be safe HERE BE SPOILERS
Avengers : Infinity War :
It is common to hear online people decry marvel movies as being " samey " and " safe" , which is why IW is such a surprising movie - It is very fucking bold . By that I mean that it breaks a sort of unwritten contract that all previous movies of this genre held true - The heroes dont win by punching out the strongest, they first got to learn a lesson ,grow as people or find their moral core . Only then, the universe grant them their third act victory.
On its face IW is about sacrifice : the marvels heroes must learn that sometimes there is no clean victories, and the must sacrefice either themselves, their loved ones, or their morals ( " we are not trading live") in order to win . So sacrefice they do, and so does the bad guy, and boy they do sacrifice alot ... but in the end it just dosent matter. Fuck you , Thanos win . Destinity still comes .
Like i said, its rather bold to make such a fatalistic movie in contrast of all the previous marvel ones .
Then there is the fact that its a great spectacle. I shouldnt have waited for home release . thats my bad. thats on me. But theres alot of great and visually interesting battles, and everyone get a moment to shine . Its not simple to balance such a huge cast and the Russo's did great.
So why dont i like this more ? maybe because looking back a day , i dont remember anything beyond the fire workse and the bleak ending ? As far as i recall the movie is just a linear series of battles between a purple duded and changing roster groups of 5 heroes . It is a fine " series finale" for the last few years of MCU movies, an entertaining watch , and a it just didnt hit me n the feels the same way it seems to do to plenty of other .
3.5/5 please dont kill me

I haven't kept up with cinema in the last year
How did I miss the news that Jim Carrey is playing a live action Dr. Robotnick on that Sonic movie? This is insane casting.
Infinity War is perhaps the first legitimately great Marvel film imo
Finally has the stakes to get invested in it.
How are they going to approach the films between now and IW2 aside from making them all prequels, or just bringing the heroes back thus removing the stakes from IW2?
edit: nice, just read that they filmed them back-to-back. Hopefully IW2 will be out sooner than I expected then. Will probably make a rare trip to the cinema to watch it
