Well fucks probably on their social media or something but I don't know what to tell you. It is a pretty big thing to just omit especially if you thought you were much closer but people are strange like that.
By diehard Go To PostSo i have a friend who lives a couple states away that I've been pretty close friends to for like 20 years, i'm also friends with his wife. Talk to him about once a week over gchat with mostly dumb stuff, movies or games or whatever. Last night i heard from another friend that oh his wife is pregnant and about to give birth any day now. Neither of them ever even mentioned it… is it just be or is that sketchy/weird has hell? Feel pretty angry and a "well that lets me know where i stand" feeling, but just wanted to vet it.My best friend didn't tell me until after his daughter was born... they were a little worried there were going to be problems with the birth so they didn't want to tell a lot of people.
I wouldnt feel too bad
yeah
its not always "congrats!" and happiness to share. there's all kinds of complications that just make people uneasy and not necessarily willing to put everything in the open.
dealt with a friend announcing a pregnancy then having a miscarriage later on and watched her cut off damn near everyone for a year.

I totally get the miscarriage stuff but don't you usually start telling people at least a few weeks before it's going to happen (or when the pregnancy is super obvious)?
I would feel better if it was a surprise to my mutual friend (I think there is at least 4 who knew) too, and they hadn't known for 6+ months.

Some people don't say shit till like a week after kiddo is already in the world cause their fams are batshit.
everyone's different man. sometimes you only want to share happiness when you're secure about the happiness to be shared. all kinds of shit goes on.... i wouldn't trip too much. could be anything or nothing and wife/husband > friend
not even saying something had to have happened but dead ass i didn't tell my friends and family that i was getting engaged and i'd never been happier

alright i'll try not to be upset.
really hoping some sort of explanation at some point though, not just a "oh yeah that's our kid btw".

my grandma is still low key upset and she can stay that way lol. i totally get compartmentalizing. its never personal

A lot goes on in a pregnancy. I was hesitant to say anything because you just never know. Even during delivery shit can happen just like that. Maybe they took it to the max and just didn't want to say anything until the baby and Mom were perfectly healthy after delivery.
But casually bring it up if you want.

yeh man it really isn't a big deal. A lot of my friends were radio-silent on their pregnancies until the birth was happening or they already had the kid and everything was ok.
we didnt find out my cousin was having a baby until 3 weeks before.
but that was mostly because they all wanted to avoid my mom's "I told you so" shade because my cousin was in HS. little did they know she'd still be at it 11 years later lmao.

My family experiences two miscarriages. We didn't tell anyone about our second child until 4-5 months in. Our immediate families had it figured out since she didn't drink a sip of alcohol, but they respected our clear desires to not talk about it until we brought it up.

i REALLY don't drink enough
i need to stop bullshitting and just commit to two beers a day
If you’re going to drink at least go with wine or whiskey
I'm amazed at how damn near 30 or 40 years worth of white women give af about Jennifer Aniston vs Angelina Jolie.
got 2 numbers in the checkout line out of it tho

Question:
Would y'all take 2 months of free rent, and pay full amount rest of term, or that same amount prorated through the lease?
At a Difference of about 600 a month??
🤔

depends on the situation man. if its a nice place and i'm settling into a new job or something.... maybe
but 6 months lease only. nothing airbnb can't solve in that scenario imo

It's a 12 month. Moving next week, never been able to time it to where I could take advantage of these types of specials.
Not sure which way to go
So I joined my company that I'm at nearly two years ago and as we try scale the md has realised he's paying too much in commission now that I'm consistently invoicing x amount a month, he gave me the heads up but announced it yday. Its not terrible (new commission scheme) but am loosing a good amount off my gross pay yearly , I really don't know if this is the time to go alone or just appreciate business is what it is and swallow the hit.

I imagine losing that much consistent business would hurt a lot
Sounds like he should've had a better system for negotiating your invoices? Do you work on time spent or task based metric for your commission?
I don't answer my phone for unknown local numbers. I have no idea why these Slovenian scammers think I'm gonna answer international calls. Lmao.
Warn the older people in your lives to be weary. Scamming season is upon us. It's strange though. Confirmation bias for 500, but I've never had to ignore this many calls...ever.

T-Mobile has those scam calls show up as Most Likely Scam to let you know
I try not to answer unknown numbers unless I applied for a job. If it’s important you can leave a message

i wish i never got to be privy to the "why" behind personnel decisions at work. it really frustrates me more than when i was in the dark and shit just felt like Basketball Reasons when it went down.
so we have this chick that's leaving at the end of the year, i think. no one really knows. but when she told everyone we were like "ok cool bye" cause she sucks at her job. nice girl but a spade is a spade. so they worked out some shit for her to stay until the end of the year since her new job doesnt officially start until 1/1.
word gets out the owner basically worked that out to give himself a month to convince her that she should stay. weird but ok. so we're trying to figure out when she's actually leaving so we can reassign all of her shit and actually get some work done. so i ask my boss to just let us know what's up because this is really stupid at this point and she says we can't make a move until the owner either convinces her or gives up trying.
(from here its paraphrased but you'll get the idea)
at this point im just scratching my head so i just ask "what's going on here. she sucks at her job. she always finds some way to push off her work on other people and tbh nobody likes her anyway so it's not like she'll be missed"
"well (the owner) is convinced that she just has the right mindset to succeed. she just needs time"
"what on earth gives you that idea"
"well he really liked the fact that she announced in the staff meeting to everyone one week that she had set a goal for herself for the week, and followed up the next week having hit it"
"oh you mean the goal that if you extended it out to the whole year, wouldn't equal what me or you or this other chick do in a quarter (the 3 of us probably account for 60% of our business?) that's what's got you all embarrassing yourselves to try and get her to stay"
"well obviously the numbers are important but your mindset is too. we need more people like her because it pushes everyone to do better"
"i could go outside and throw 1 rock and hit 10 people that will do more than the nothing she actually does. you all have fired people that do 2 or 3x what she actually does because it wasn't good enough but because said some stuff that made you all fuzzy inside now we just have to have her? aight when she doesn't hit any of her numbers like she never has in the 6 months she's been here don't come ask me if i could dig up another X amount of business like you usually do."
"you should be more positive domino. we really believe if you have the right mindset that the rest will take care if itself and (the owner) thinks she has it"
"oh like *insert all these other failed pet project ppl from our owner because he falls for people that say the things he wants to hear*. for a sales position its ridiculous that you somehow decide to focus on everything but her actual sales when you decided we just MUST keep her. at this point i hope she does stay just so you can realize we were right about her in another 6 months."
i didnt expect this to end up this long when i started typing but whew this shit got me tight. they are so focused on the wrong shit its unreal. thank god this girl aint on my team.

To me? No.
I could see some ppl saying she is.
Wouldn't really change what I thought about as a person if she was hot to me tho.

lol, i'm in a somewhat similar situation at my job domino. Biggest difference is that this is just a job and i'm assuming your job is your career. I'm in full fuck it mode.

Nah I could lose this tomorrow and wouldn't bat an eye. It's just something I stumbled into and ended up being great at and it just worked out for my situation post-college. I can't see myself doing it for the rest of my life, at any company in the industry.
By Random Ass Username Go To PostBe careful shit talking about the boss's side piece brehs.
If that's the boss side piece Idk if I'd feel sorrier for her or his geriatric ass.
So I did end up getting that job. It’s still a hefty raise but it’s not as big as I’d hoped. And I would be working a shit ton (essentially investment banking hours).
But it would be massive for my resume. I’m really torn. :/

Is this the thread where I mention that I had a mental break, did something horribly dangerous, was deemed to be a physical threat to myself, and I'm now on two medications that are making me feel really weird? Is that this thread?
One cool thing that happened though...while I was doing that dumb thing, I had a friend that had some sort of sixth sense thing kick in and she had a panic attack and just "knew" something was happening and stopped it.
Anyway, I'm ok, guys. But...yo.
