Didn't know you had a sled. Thought I was controlling the sled instead of the wolves for some reason, made the intro look and feel like shit. Kratos smiling after Atreus picks the deer up makes it goty already
Not gonna bother redeeming the preorder dlc for now at least, assume the gear is overpowered for a while and the armour looks like it's from a Warhammer 40k rip-off.

A really fun one though. Like shit happening out of the blue is kinda GoW's thing so you're always on edge unlike say Uncharted or TLoU when they talk your ears off

graphics are quite good even though you can tell it's a cross-gen game. but then again, going from a plasma in 1080p for the first game to an oled at a higher res for this one is quite a jump for me. the opening scene looks so much better than the youtube trailer would lead you to believe. i thought i'd be disappointed, but i'm really quite pleasantly surprised.
this is the first time i'm trying 3d audio in a single player game. it really is better than regular audio. feels fuller and more dynamic.
the boss fights so far much better than in the previous game. more varied, too.

Yeah I expected a more streamlined UI for the gear in particular given the reports of it being improved from the first game. Only difference I can see so far is that you can sort your equipment by the stat you want. A few hours in, feel like I'm still waiting to get back into the swing of things with the combat. Need to unlock a few moves, another rune slot, and generally find the rythm.

That's all it is so far.I'm only about two hours in and yeah it does feels pretty safe. Combat pretty much feels the exact same. Story seems pretty interesting though. Odin Soprano is pretty great.

Also the part where Atreus tells Kratos that Sindri has been helping try to find Tyr made chuckle more than it should have. You can just tell Kratos is like "Please stop me from killing this mfer."
Codex is jokes and screams last minute accessibility addition. And such a bad idea to give us an insight into their heads no?

I have decided that Yakuza 6 is the only good dad simulator.

Ok some parts of the Codex are written by Mimir and some by Kratos I think. Still, don't like it.
This mine area looks really nice, nice in particular for HDR with the sunlight getting inside through cracks. Game is way easier than the last one too. Not easy enough that I wish I started on the ultimate difficulty but it's very noticeable how much more sturdy Kratos is in this game. Having the Blades of Chaos from the start helps too I suppose.

Give Me No Mercy. Didn't want to lock into the hardest one because the first game became a bit of a chore on it.
