Atreus sections were pretty meh
Last section I just sped through it lol
Finale was pretty good but could’ve done more but I’m assuming they didn’t due to wanting everyone to finish it, they definitely made it more casual which is good since you want everyone to beat it
I never played god of war 2018 until Sep 2022 and had no intentions of buying a ps5 til much later but after finishing 2018 I had to play Ragnarok on ps5 since 2018 sounded like jet engine on my ps4 pro and that was a digital copy
Overall they were both amazing games and there’s tons of things you can do moving forward, spin offs and save the next main game for PS6 in 3/4 years

By Fenderputty Go To PostJust got game … 3 hours in. Did they ramp up damage Kratos takes? Feels like enemies hit harderUse your shied.

Everything is clicking now. Played like 3 souls games since the last GOW iteration lol.
Really digging it so far. Combat is fun. I like how they reward swapping between weapons. Story is great and it’s hitting some dad moments for me hahah

Later on in the game yes, but it never feels good. Especially since you have to take your thumb off the left analog stick to do it.

By Kidjr Go To PostUr meant to swap weapons, what like mid combat?
If you freeze or burn an enemy the opposing weapon damage is increased and it’s not a small amount. So yeah … as an example a light runic attack on the blades will light dudes on fire sending them into “burn”. If you swap to the axe you get added damage until the status effect wears off. Then you can freeze em and sap back to blades

The skills for boosted damage happen early tho. lol
I do agree it feels off using the D pad, but most of the moves that inflict a status slightly stun the enemy being attacked

You can get ahead if you start doing it from the start, but iirc the game only starts giving you enemies with different resistances in the same combat encounters a fair bit later on. Maybe even only in the trials, can't remember it happening in the story.

You can burn a fire dude freeze an ice dude. The status effect itself may do nothing but the weapon swap does. Burn a fire dude and swap to the axe and damage goes way up from what I can tell. Poison dudes seems to get wrecked from both
Edit like the enemies who spit those little evil lizzars out of their back
