Supreme Court to Hear Case Pitting Gay Rights Against ReligionLet's check in with "state rights should supersede federal rights" Republicans

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court’s conservative majority seemed prepared on Monday to rule that a graphic designer in Colorado has a First Amendment right to refuse to create websites celebrating same-sex weddings based on her Christian faith despite a state law that forbids discrimination based on sexual orientation.State rights amirite
But several justices leaning in that direction appeared to be searching for limiting principles so as not to upend all sorts of anti-discrimination laws.
But what about if businesses want to say black people can only sit on one side of the diner and white people sit on the other side, or, maybe, not allow them to enter the business at all due to closely held religious beliefs? What about doctor's code of ethics and "do no harm" when it comes to their patients versus their deeply held religious beliefs -- are they allowed to refuse treating a patient because they are LGTBQ+?

WASHINGTON — The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol will issue criminal referrals to the Justice Department based on its inquiry, the panel’s chairman said on Tuesday. Will any of the bettors allow you to bet on which aide is gonna fall on that sword? Is Michael Cohen somehow involved? Can I bet on him?
Representative Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, the Democratic chairman of the committee, told reporters on Capitol Hill that the panel had agreed to take the step, but had not agreed on who would be the subject of the referrals.
The conviction on charges of tax fraud, a scheme to defraud, conspiracy and falsifying business records is hardly a death sentence for the Trump Organization. The maximum penalty it faces is $1.62 million, a rounding error for Mr. Trump, who typically notched hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue during his presidency.oh no

Warnock looks good. Outperforming his margins from weeks ago. I’ve been hopeful for GOP hood outs since control of the senate isn’t up for grabs
I don’t follow every state but Orange County is now purple due to a lot of suburb realignment. Katie Porter elected again as an example.
