By NiceGuy Go To PostVoting age should be 25-75 tbhif you can send an 18 year old to die in another country, they should at least get some say in it.🤷🏾♂️

Age restrictions is a poor idea.
By Laboured Go To PostI'm not going to be surprised when this eventually becomes a central part of the GOP platform.Eligible to vote! Lfg
Just made the cut off at 89
By inky Go To Postshanks wants the voting age to be 12
What?
I do think that if in the next political period you will be of legal age to work, then you should be able to vote. I think 16 is that sweet spot. Two years of working should be the minimum.
Original article was amusing.
On the same vein, it reminds me of all the handwringing around 'why are young people in favour of Irish Unity?'
By Burt The Samurai Go To Postit's legal to work at 16?
In the UK it is.
Pretty sure you can work when you are even you ger part time.

As an FYI, union electricians do not get not sick pay. They’re just really well compensated from a pay scale, retirement and healthcare perspective. Don’t know much about rail worker pay, but this sticking point isn’t a huge hangup for other union trades. None of the trades get paid leave from what I can tell actually
Hey Joe, the whole point of the strike is so that people understand the severity.
Peasant: I am worth more
Rich person: No you’re not.
P: Ok then I won’t work and since I’m not worth more, the operation won’t be affected
Now the rich person has to decide
A) this peasant won’t affect anything
B) I’m screwed now I need to work something out
When it becomes:
A) this peasant won’t affect anything
B) this peasant gonna fuck my whole shit up, luckily they have to work.
Things don’t change.

Korean President issued an executive order yesterday forcing cement truck drivers back to work.
Truck and lorry drivers have been striking since last Thursday, and cement and petrol supplies are down 90 and 30 percent respectively.
Executive order was only for cement drivers, and today is the first test of if they will comply. They can lose their license, face three years in jail, and be fined up to $30,000.

Specialists? Either way I’m not arguing they shouldn’t fight for it, just adding context. It’s never a contract issue to negotiate in IBEW / the locals I use, like Local 11. Sticking points are always compensation and then each chapter figures out the mix between wage and retirement.
I always thought it was odd myself.

Scary, these information technologies are getting so advanced that the job has never been easier for a dictator. Same tools that give you freedom excel at imprisoning you.

A CNN poll released on Friday found Mr. Walker winning just 3 percent of Black voters, who make up about one-third of Georgia’s electorate. That is less support than Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican, won when he defeated Stacey Abrams in the governor’s race last month, according to AP VoteCast, a survey of Georgia voters. The fact that this is a runoff is crazy
Those numbers do not spell the end of Mr. Walker’s bid. Mr. Warnock led Mr. Walker only narrowly among all voters in the CNN survey. A strong turnout among white Republicans across the state could lift Mr. Walker to victory.
A rare win social win? well damn

it's a ruse by the government. they're not removing the mandatory hijab laws. before the "morality police" was established, the regular police would enforce hijab laws.
the people want regime change, the mandatory hijab is just one part of the revolt.

After more than a year of high inflation, many consumers are finally starting to catch a break. Even apartment rents and car prices, two items that hammered millions of household budgets this year, are no longer spiraling out of control.
Global supply chains are finally operating normally, as more consumers spend more on in-person services like restaurant meals and less on goods like furniture and computers that come from an ocean away. The cost of sending a standard 40-foot container from China to the U.S. West Coast is $1,935 — down more than 90 percent from its September 2021 peak of $20,586, according to the online freight marketplace Freightos.
The moderation in inflation is just beginning to appear in government statistics. In October, the Federal Reserve’s preferred price gauge, the personal consumption expenditures index, posted its smallest monthly increase since September of last year, and is up 6 percent over the past 12 months. The better-known consumer price index is rising at an annual rate of 7.7 percent, down from 9.1 percent in June.
