By Fenderputty Go To PostLooks like we’re going to get cool cgi battles anyways. You can tell many of the sequences are in actual locations using mix of practical and CG. It's not all greenscreened to death.
By Punished Dean Go To PostShang ChiI was also bored in the middle, and then kind of apathetic by the end
Marvel needs to stop with their ugly lighting and poor/obvious CGI
Also, the fight scenes were poorly shot imo
Other than that, the film was pretty much ok. Got bored about halfway through
Tony Leung was the best actor in it
Fight scenes in the first hour looked good to me though

Marvel doesn't make good movies. They will never get better because the general pop culture consumer don't give a shit about what they put into their mouths as long as the trough has food.
and not surprised to hear the greatest actor alive was good in a movie
By faridmon Go To PostIt’s only one of the Wachowski’s doing this? What is the other one doing?Lilly is working on a TV show called Work In Progress. She said that after all the changes she had gone through, she needed to do something new and take a bit of time away from the movie industry.

Good in her, can’t imagine doing blockbuster after blockbuster is healthy way of living
Did not expect it to be on streaming day 1.
If I can pay for Peacock through Google Pay as I do with HBO Max, definitely will subscribe for 1 month.
I mean all hero movies lean heavily on the Jesus story. But all of human religions use the same the archetype for their main figures. It's as human as breathing. They all build on the Sumerian writings.

Until the opening credits start and James Wan's name appears, I kept thinking that I was watching a Syfy Channel or The Asylum movie instead of Malignant.
Opening scene was seriously that bad visually and in terms of acting.

Glad I obtained it in exchange for legal tender.
Malignant is probably the most insane movie of the year.
I had a blast but I can see it being very divisive.
That opening scene was definitely that way on purpose.
It's James Wan telling you "listen, this isn't your serious horror movie, accept the campiness and enjoy".

I'm glad that James Wan made a ton of money with Aquaman, The Conjuring and Insidious for Warner Bros because that's the only reason why someone at WB looked at that script and said "sure, make that movie".
Most of the movies I’ve been watching lately have been around 90 minutes long, 120 at most
I wish more movies were that long. If you can’t manage to write a good movie in that time then making it longer isn’t really going to make a difference.
Anything longer just feels like the equivalent of an open world video game. Focusing on quantity over quality.

Fine with long movies if it earns it. Godfather earns it. Irishman earns it. Return of the King earns it. Lawrence of Arabia earns it.
I don’t need some interminable 144 minute movie that should have been 101.

Irishman def didn't earn it, not to say it wasn't a good movie. Could have been shaved down some for sure.
Casio Royale was too long and it wasn't even that long. Can't imagine why an action film like Bond needs to be almost 3 hours.

It was like..3 hours too long
All of these tentpole blockbusters are too damn long. I don't see the point.
Partly why I think Dunkirk is my favourite Nolan film. So tightly paced and well made.
edit: has n8 ever seen a film not in English

Allah has blessed us once again.
By bud Go To Postdunkirk feels too long, even at 100 minutes. It has no plot and it repeats scenes within itself of course it's too long at 100mins
It's all personal preference of course but for me these days:
Movies over 2 hours need to provide some kind of catharsis/pacing or themes that keep me engaged.
Action films, especially those of the likes of Bond do not do this.

Mission Impossible: Fallout has a 2hr30min runtime and it's a perfect action movie so you are completely wrong
Apparently the new Venom movie will be 90 minutes long. So either it's a taut, well paced action romp or a slapdash mess of a film with incomprehensible action.
It's the latter.

youtube algo recommending Gen Z'errs reacting to Matrix Resurrections - they weren't even born when Revolutions came out.
scust.

By FortuneFaded Go To PostIs there an MI film which isn’t overrated?2 because it’s a piece of shit entirely.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostIs there an MI film which isn’t overrated?Right? They're cool action movies but an entirely forgettable franchise. Fast and the Furious too, I don't know if someone's being serious when they hype up one them,
