I’m so in on a new matrix even though the best thing about the series after the first movie was Monica Bellucci in a red leather dress
Animatrix was pretty cool tho

I always Felt like the second and third movies suffered thematically when compared to the first. The actual reveal of the existence of the matrix was such a mind fuck in the first one, and that reveal made dodging bullets and those visuals new and exciting.
By the time 2 came out , the novelty of dodging bullets wore off and there was no way to capture the audience in the same the first did with that reveal.

2 had the highway scene tho
battle for zion was trash tho and the whole final roadtrip just never hit the mark

After clicking on the different pills at least 5 times each. On addition to the time being read aloud, the footage somewhat changes. I just got the black cat, the door opening on the roof, Neo force pushing people away, lots of pills dropping...
By reilo Go To PostThere's 180,000 combinations between the two pills. Each minute is a different combo of clips.I'm glad they took the time to do that instead of spending any time at all not hardcoding video into a 16:9 format. It's only about the 60th time I've posted about that but I still feel its not enough.

i hear the new movie will introduce the black pill
I wonder if Disney execs have some kind of internal bet for how boring, ugly and hate filled they can make their franchise films before people stop going to them.
Also this post led me to go look up the 90s live action remake of the 101 dalmations. Apparently it was poorly received at the time, with a 40% RT score according to Wikipedia. Have standards just plummeted off a cliff or something? 101 Dalmations was a pretty average children's film, Glenn Close aside, but it was still a million times better than all of the new live action Disney stuff.

By Perfect Blue Go To PostPeople out there really spent $30 for Cruella on top of the D+ sub. Disney are terroristsStill cheaper than a movie ticket lol
By DiPro Go To PostStill cheaper than a movie ticket lolMaybe in Switzerland.
By DiPro Go To PostStill cheaper than a movie ticket loltickets at my local cinema are £7 each ($9.65 currently) and my wife gets a free ticket every month through her health insurance so it would have represented a much higher price to watch Cruella through Disney plus for me
My cinema is doing a movie pass deal. £10p/m and a ticket to every film released. At least I didn't pay £7.40 for Suicide Squad.

Good cast but Big Short was bad and Vice was dogshit. Not for me, Clive.
We'll always have Step Brothers. Modern masterpiece.
If any Slaent users were 60s Nouvelle Vague actors, I'd advise you to stay indoors this week. The guy from Breathless died in a skydiving accident and now this guy.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo have apparently been talking to Marvel Studios about potentially coming back for another superhero movie, but those talks have hit an “impasse” over concerns from the brothers that Disney might dump this hypothetical movie on Disney+ and pay them less.No wonder Feige was heated. He was already gauging the fallout before Disney even put out a statement. Seems to be at least a few steps ahead of all the other suits
That might be overstating it, as this is coming secondhand from a WSJ story and not from the Russos themselves, but still. “People familiar with the matter” believe that there are at least some concerns from them. However, unlike with Scarlett Johansson, whose Marvel career was pretty much done after Black Widow anyway, there’s no reason to think the Russos wouldn’t want to come back and make another Avengers or whatever someday. After all, those last two movies were kind of a big deal, both culturally and financially, so losing the Russos could have a bigger impact on Marvel’s future than losing Scarlett Johansson’s goodwill.

Enjoyed Shang Chi. Typical marvel formula (very reminiscent of black panther) but some of the action was good. Shang Chi's dad was down bad!
But speaking of marvel formula, they have to stop with the 'serious moment interrupted by moment of levity". In fact, they should have an editor just score out all attempts of humour and tell the writers to pick 3 to be allowed to stay in.
Guy beside me in the queue pulled down his mask to sneeze without covering.

Fuck theaters.

get paid simu
By Old King Rob Go To PostBuy stuff outside and bring it in
Come on Fender you should know better
I mean we do that too, but I mean even a popcorn is a ton of money. Theater is only worth it for shit like dune. I paid premier access for Raya, as my kids wanted to watch it and I needed something new. Got to drink a beer. Pause the fucker. It was an overall cheaper and more relaxing experience. I will likely spend more on early access than I ever did for the theater
I refuse to be too hyped after the Reload before the Revolution debacle.
Also, the night that I saw Reloaded was forever ruined. Lakers fans will remember the Lakers getting their ass kicked in Staples Center by the Spurs; everyone crying on the bench too. Less than a hour later I hate to drive to the movie theater and my nightcap was a viewing of Reloaded.
