Every time I watch a cold war movie I go into a rabbits hole about missile silos and defenses and shit like Cheyenne mountain / norad
I've never tried non-alcoholic beer. I'm curious. Haven't drank much In the pandemic anyway.
I remember seeing a photo, probably on twitter, of some craft beer bar on the continent and they had Tennant's up on the board with the rest of the fancy beers.

But that doesn't mean it tastes good either

By faridmon Go To PostSo I have been told by my doctor to change my diet and eat/make healthy foodGet a rice cooker. Learn to cut veggies and such safely. Cook the rice, brown the veggies, throw them together in a bowl and eat. Add seasoning and sauce as preferred. Maybe learn to brown some ground beef or cook chicken or other meat. A fried egg on top is also easy and tasty. Add any /all/none of that to the bowl. Experiment and find what you do and don't like. It's a great base to a bunch of different dishes from a bunch of different cultures.

Sandwiches are always easy to make. Burgers, too. Hell, steak and mashed potatoes are one of the easiest things to make. Add some corn (canned is fine) and you are good to go.

My diet isn't the worst, but its repetetive and most of them are high in salt and is to be prepared by oil.
I don't really like to eat meat/chicken so I don't eat take out, and don't drink alcohol
but there are issues like I don't eat much vegatables either, love eggs so i prepare scrambled/omeletts every day. For lumnch, I eat Pasta alot with variable diffrent sauces every day. I do eat rice, but its kind of pain to prepare it (as I don't have a rice cooker), I also eat food with high starch like potatoes, Cereals, bread etc, and beans, alot of beans.
I have had skin issues and my doctor told me to eat healthly, hence the question. Its not the worst, but with the lockdown and lack of excercise, i have became a bit over weight
Thats the main problem. I do drink fizzy drinks ALOT. I am almost addicted to it. Thats the first think i have to minimise

i dislike this so much.
Absolutely. My skinny ass dropped like 13 pounds within three months after dropping all soft drinks.
It weans you off of sugar, too, so that you don't need as much for things to taste sweet.

By faridmon Go To PostThanks guys!I feel like a lot of diet and weight loss advice sucks because people refuse to admit the obvious, that unhealthy food mostly tastes great and healthy food mostly doesn't. No matter how much the mommy and recipe bloggers insist, their lettuce wraps and faux pizzas will always taste like crap compared to a real burger or pizza. Cooking your way to better health would be fine if you had a crap diet, but it doesn't seem like that and you're probably not suddenly going to find a couple of vegetable dishes that you really love.

Just eating less is very difficult, but if you can manage then do that. Fasting works well for a lot of people, that could be a good option - you already do so at Ramadan, don't you? Normally I'd recommend cutting your amount of carbs, but often you would replace that with protein and doesn't seem like that is feasible for you either.
Key for me in the last decade or so was finding salads I enjoy. Broccoli and kale specifically were really helpful. Picking up foods that are relatively calorie sparse.
I grew up in a house where salads were limp and wet piles of poor quality veg, rarely dressed well.

Drink more water. Buy those little low calorie drink mixes for when you want a littler variety in your drink. They aren't ultra healthy but they'll keep you drinking water more regularly without getting so bored of it.
Run a calorie tracker for a week. You don't have to run it after that if its a hassle but you'd be surprised how much calories certain things are when you actually look at the label and add it all up instead of just glancing at everything.
Eggs are good as long as you're not having cholesterol issues. I would go 50/50 on your carbs and replace half of htem with some fiber carbs like vegetables. Pasta's only good for a cheap bulk, and if you're trying to lose weight, I would definitely buy a rice cooker and replace the pasta with a rice.
