By zfzmikey Go To PostThat's because literally no one is using that room.Well if that's the case then the designer/architect failed miserably lol. If your room isn't livable then it sucks. Looking pretty is secondary.
By zfzmikey Go To PostGiven the first quote, perhaps the echos are the intent.
Ayy lol

If you have money for that kind of a house, you got money for a room that’s nice to look at / read in
By Kibner Go To PostI think I finally realized what that room reminds me of: a hotel lobbyDrake would love it
By Fenderputty Go To PostIf you have money for that kind of a house, you got money for a room that’s nice to look at / read inThat doesn't change what I said, though. You can have money for all that while still having a room that looks great and is livable.
Peep this recent Manhattan apartment that was designed by famous Japanese artist Hiroshi Sugimoto. It has similar vibes to that other room but looks eminently livable too. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/06/t-magazine/hiroshi-sugimoto-architect-manhattan.html

One of my first thoughts actually was “that looks like a cool commercial lobby space I did for a hotel”
Money is no object for them obviously but i look at a room like that every time with "god to heat/cool that space is gonna take so much energy and money."

So much of a house heating up is insulation though and those concrete wall are thick as fuck. It’s huge but I would be curious to know actua costs
Well if your ceilings are super high and areas are very open it's still an issue regardless of materials/insulation.
Not totally fit for this thread, but a table with the potential to be decent looking while also being a fantastic gaming table: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wyrmwood/modular-gaming-table
Neat.
The beach structure reminds me of something Sci fi?? Can’t quite put my finger on it. A lot of the appeal of the structures are the natural environments around them

Considering how cluttered it is, not bad at all really

By Daz Go To PostHow much does Shroud make?I'm guessing a milli+ a year?
Moving into a similar setup (but instead of a window there are doors leading to a balcony) place at the end of the year - I too intend to get an L shaped but concerned that an Eames wouldn't fit or could make the space feel cramped.

I wish I had bought that chair back in 2013.
I might finally buy it next time I change apartments.
By Fenderputty Go To PostYeah I’ll agree there. Concrete and size could be problematic with regards to Echos
This has given me quite a sexy idea looooooll

Rural sheriff shit tbh. Gotta book people into the jail at all times of night why not live right next door I guess.
By Laboured Go To PostIt’s fucking Parasite
It's a jail affixed to a house. It's actually not that surprising especially when you look at the size of the town. Chances are you're just tossing family in that jail anyways. Some families have nice guest rooms, this house has jail cells.

🤔 I can’t stand the design, but with a little reno tbats my apocalypse house
Damn for 350k you can buy a mansion with your own personal prison so you can enjoy that free labor

Once you've made your peace with the facts that humans are being kept in bondage two stories down - its a pretty good deal.
In London 350k gets you a two bed flat and no prisoners.
By reilo Go To Post350k is a downpayment
Sell my house, take equity, buy prison house, get super chill part time labor Job to pay bills and have place to stick my kids when they act up. Wins all over the place
By Daz Go To PostFACTSWhere in London are you finding a 2bed for $350k?
