By reilo Go To PostBringing up that some nurses might have stolen a few supplies (because shocker, it happens) is the same tactic that's used to claim that some people on welfare don't use their food stamps for wholesome means. It's just another way to discredit the entire program, or in this instance the medical professionals that criticize the White House's lack of concentrated effort to provide enough supplies. If states aren't allocating resources given properly at the local level then you've got a massive problem. Nurses packing their shit and leaving managers high and dry while the majority of contractors who handle everything from ventilation to cleaning being completely screwed along with private hospitals doing their own thing... That's not 300k masks stolen entirely but that's a likely majority of them not being where they need to be in a constantly shifting situation.
"You'd have the supplies if *waves hand* nurses won't stealing them!" It's a dog whistle, through and through. It's bullshit and not the root of the problem.
I'm not Trump fan but I think people need to get better at assigning blame at the right levels of government and the right groups. Defaulting to orangemanbad is letting way too many people off the hook.
By markao Go To PostHe just doesn't understand that a single nurse/doctor goes through multiple mask every hour.https://www.businessinsider.com/coroanvirus-holland-recalls-over-half-a-million-masks-imported-from-china-2020-3
And we recieved 600.000 masks(1/3rd of the total) that did not had the right standards (materials/shape) out of China. Glad that even in these times quality controll is still there.
Not the first time they've screwed over Australia either

Really?

No one has

By reilo Go To PostBut Trump is implying that. You're conflating two separate issues. Is he or are we just running with shit 😂
It's a factor that should surprise no one. There's no definitive statement on the totality of the problem other than maybe reporters should get on that.
Again, these local and private hospitals ain't shit on a good day but assuming they'll move in concert nationally, reacting as needed, is just not realistic without more than a few systemic failures to learn from as well as increasing ground level accountability.
I get needing someone to blame but the federal government NOT trying to trounce states right now isn't the biggest problem...
By Xpike Go To PostAre you honestly asking which?Even if you take that he was referring to the virus, he then the next day said he was referring to the Democrat's criticism of his handling of the virus. So he was "so busy" for .. a day?

Everyone deserve blame for the handling of this, just curious seeing who gives it to who.
By DY_nasty Go To PostIs he or are we just running with shit 😂"Where are these going? Are they going out the backdoor? You journalist should investigate this."
But I think we should give him the benefit of the doubt. His past actions have earned him that much.
Worst pandemic in a century hitting when Brazil have Bolsonaro, we have Johnson and the US has Trump

My bad, just gotta be a cool kid and blame Trump for everything. Nevermind that whole state/fed separation or what FEMA actually does. Or how states have failed horribly and blamed the federal government whenever it's convenient time and time again.
just saying trump is the one saying journalists should start attacking the people risking their lives everyday taking care of the sick

By Xpike Go To Postjust saying trump is the one saying journalists should start attacking the people risking their lives everyday taking care of the sickYou know the biggest problem with this "front lines" thing? Healthcare workers can quit. They're asked to do unreasonable stuff while receiving conflicting guidance in problematic conditions where management has been given the greenlight to be assholes as needed to the sound of applause. In most cases, that's wildly worse than what military has to put up with - and they can quit.
That is not good or sustainable. People should be horrified.
By reilo Go To PostMy bad, I thought we needed to give credence to baseless accusations any time Trump opened his mouth.A shortage/poor allocating of resources isn't baseless and yeah reporters should get on that.
Should they not? I don't even get why that's crazy 😂
Is it a factor, yes. Is it the only factor, obviously not.
Obviously not = journalists could get on that. Let's not have another Puerto Rico situation where the only thing we remember is paper towel jumpshots instead of elected officials laughing about livestock eating bodies in the street since the morgues are full while entire stocked warehouses go unaccounted for.

April 1st mortgage / rent is looming.
What's the gist on forbearance/forgiveness?
For us Californians I'm only reading that newsom is telling counties to decided eviction freeze.

I was thinking about going back to work this week but nah. Between that twitter post with the dead bodies being loaded into an 18-wheeler, NY being over 1000 deaths, Donald saying we should remain socially distancing until end of April when he was just trying to get shit open means this shit is nowhere near it’s peak. I’m broke, can we send our Venmo’s to celebrities?

Is there any relief for renters in the bill?So basically just a postponement
Yes. The bill puts a temporary, nationwide eviction moratorium in place for any renters whose landlords have mortgages backed or owned by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and other federal entities. This will last for 120 days after the bill passes, and landlords also can’t charge any fees or penalties for nonpayment of rent.
By Kabro Go To PostOnly thing i saw regarding renters….What if your landlord owns their property and has no mortgage? Maybe I’m overthinking but idk if last sentence means any landlord in general or just ones with mortgages backed by federal entities
