Did my social distancing walk today and a woman with mask, probably in here seventies, came up to me (still respectable distance) and asked me what day it was as she pointed to a closed up office lol.
Apocalypse is near y'all.

By Daz Go To PostMan, the restaurant and hospitality industry must have collapsed by now.All the places here are doing take outs even if they never did before and from some contacts i have it seems that many are doing fine. I'm sure many of them suffer though.
US we are looking at eastern, mean while in the UK
a lot of people will be surprised how long we have to deal with this virus and changes to are way of living.
The issue of the three weeks is for us to review where we are and see if we’ve had an impact jointly on the slope of that curve. But I think to make it clear to the public if we are successful we will have squashed the top of that curve, which is brilliant, but we must not then suddenly revert to our normal way of living that would be quite dangerous.
If we stop then all of our efforts will be wasted and we could potentially see a second peak. So over time, probably over the next six months, we will have a three-week review.

good news from Italy
"We should be very close to peaking,” said Attilio Fontana.
“Today, for the third day in a row, the numbers have remained constant. There is no longer the growth that has accompanied us in recent weeks.
“We have remained at the same level in terms of new infections. This, according to epidemiologists and statisticians, should be a prelude to a reduction in infections.
“Let’s not say it out loud, otherwise we risk failing the commitment of all Lombardy citizens to preventing the infection from continuing to spread, but I have one more hope, a hope supported by numbers.”
imagine that guy being politically unstoppable

Where do you live?
By The Frankman Go To PostDid he just accuse NY of stealing masks and ventilators?Yes that's what he seems to be saying if you can manage to gleam anything from his verbal diarrhea.
I mean, the whole state?
The peak death rate will be in 2 weeks. What’s in 2 weeks time? Easter, when Trump said everything should go back to normal.

By FortuneFaded Go To PostSo in the video above, he is not accusing healthcare workers of stealing masks because he doesn’t outright say it?I don't pretend to know what that dude is talking about half the time, but no I would not. There is an insulation that something strange is happening with masks, whether the implication is about healthcare workers stealing them or UPS drivers having a box fall off their truck I don't know what his point is.
He's definitely accusing healthcare workers of walking out backdoors with needed supplies. And later hoarding ventilators.
One of my friends is a nurse. Yes, workers have been stealing equipment. It's not hard to imagine. Especially when not everyone signed up for or believes in this "front lines" idiocy...
He just doesn't understand that a single nurse/doctor goes through multiple mask every hour.
And we recieved 600.000 masks(1/3rd of the total) that did not had the right standards (materials/shape) out of China. Glad that even in these times quality controll is still there.

By i can get you a toe Go To PostYeah except the sheer volume he's implying is not about pinching like that. Some hospitals are vastly better off than others. They've been asked to help allocate supply as needed and they're in a way justified in saying "no, we're gonna hold what we got for when it does get bad here".
Hospitals nationwide aren't this agile. Conditions aren't so great that all staff are protected. Ppl ain't just gonna sit there and take risk. Ppl ain't above stealing from a hospital on a good day either.
By domino Go To PostFuck liberty
Bringing up that some nurses might have stolen a few supplies (because shocker, it happens) is the same tactic that's used to claim that some people on welfare don't use their food stamps for wholesome means. It's just another way to discredit the entire program, or in this instance the medical professionals that criticize the White House's lack of concentrated effort to provide enough supplies.
"You'd have the supplies if *waves hand* nurses weren't stealing them!" It's a dog whistle, through and through. It's bullshit and not the root of the problem.

Not a good look when Starbury seems like he's doing more to get supplies to NY hospitals than the President is...
the root of the problem is that the leaders of the us were too busy saying that it was a hoax to properly prepare for this emergency so now that its happening they are trying to distract the public as much as possible from their fatal incompetence
