Here in Brazil we have 2 national ID documents haha
By Elchele Go To Postyeah, it's weird USA doesn't has a national id card or somethingbecause that would mean you dont need to go through a million hoops to prove youre a citizen and be able to vote
By Elchele Go To Postyeah, it's weird USA doesn't has a national id card or somethingIt’s a federation. They have state ID cards. Canada doesn’t have a national ID card either for the same reason.
By Elchele Go To Postyeah, it's weird USA doesn't has a national id card or somethingThere's several kinds tbh. Just a mess juggling them all and what each is used for or the validity/purpose of each is a headache.

By Perfect Blue Go To PostIt’s a federation. They have state ID cards. Canada doesn’t have a national ID card either for the same reason.yeah. like in my case its easier to leave the country than it is for me to register my vehicle and update my plates.

asking because I generally don't know, but do you guys have significant differences between provinces?

what a shit show, incredible how much the US has to accommodate people who refuse to go get a shot
The C.D.C. will recommend that some vaccinated people wear masks indoors again.

By Patriotism Go To PostLooks like they're trying backdoor national id card with the covid passports. What are you hiding? Going to call Priti to look into you
nice one, "iT's JuSt An Qr CoDe REEEEEE" guys
it's just always been my interpretation that at least here, we got a lot of non-nationally supported stuff because the US is simply unaccommodating even when traveling from one state to the next. breaking away from that archaic structure isnt on any parties agenda either.
generally the system we've got (combinations of class a/b/c identifications) fits but its easy to wedge obstructions into it when you decide to include other things into what should be simple verification. if you want ID by itself, cool. Adding proof of insurance, proof of residency, next of kin, credit, tax history, etc into the same qualifier is the headache a lot of the noise is centered around.

By Xpike Go To Posthttps://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/27/health/cdc-masks-indoors-delta-variant.htmlAt this point I wish someone would just get on TV and say “we recommend wearing masks. If you don’t want to wear one, good for you, shut the fuck up and don’t wear it”

18 months later and I still have to hear about infringing on your personal freedoms. If you wanna die then die, just please spare me your rants

By DY_nasty Go To Postyeah. like in my case its easier to leave the country than it is for me to register my vehicle and update my plates. The requirement to register your vehicle in your new state within 7-days of moving is a total fucking nightmare. Yes, let me drop everything to go hang out at the DMV for hours right after I just moved to a brand new state. Not like I got shit to do to get adjusted here first.
Speaking of DMV, why some of these common tasks aren't online is also frustrating. At the same time, I don't trust them to keep my identity safe so lolz
By Daz Go To PostThe complexity is a feature not a bug.to... make the people with the resources to move between states go through a hassle?

By diehard Go To PostNot when old enough to need things like ID.bro
I've still never even gotten a passport
From my own personal perspective, traveling internationally is an essential part of one's existence.
By diehard Go To Postto… make the people with the resources to move between states go through a hassle? This lines up with everything I've ever heard about the DMV
FWIW, my roundtrip flight from SF -> NYC -> Bracelona was $450/person in October 2019. ijs.
Spain in October is perfect weather FYI.

By diehard Go To PostI've still never even gotten a passportexplains a lot.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostI remember reading a crazy low amount of Americans don’t have passports.Nowhere else has freedom so why would they ever leave here
By Lunatic Go To PostThat's because you never used to need it to travel via air.In the US you can still travel via air without a passport (I think you just need a REAL ID state issues ID which has been the norm for over a decade here). In my defense, between Alaska and Hawaii you can see a lot just by staying the States. Not in my defense, i haven't been those places either.

What about Mexico. Or is Puerto Vallarta not your thing?
By Perfect Blue Go To PostTravelling internationally is a pure luxury so it’s understandable. From experience, it costs less to vacation in many parts of Europe than actual places I wanna visit in the US. Mexico, too.
Mexico vacation >>>> Hawaii vacation
I just don't go anywhere. Used to go on vacations with my family to the usual places but the furthest I've been in 15 years is probably Yellowstone (320 miles).
By DiPro Go To Postor just food.Food and architecture for me.
By DY_nasty Go To Postin my experience, most places suckThe Caribbean is pretty nice.
