No, they really think that they'll be good with Russell and Towns playing.
This is what Rosas has been trying to do since last May.

I feel so bad for Boogie. His career arc is a fucking travesty for someone as talented as him. He was just gassing up this team/organization like 3 days ago.

The Lakers needed to waive someone to make room for Markieff Morris, and they choose Cousins over Troy Daniel. Just days ago, Cousins had been praising the Lakers and mentioned how he wanted to come back for the playoffs, but he won't play a single game in the purple and gold. Cousins has struggled to stay healthy since his Achilles tear with the Pelicans, and chances are there's not going to be much of a market for him this summer.Troy Daniel and Markieff over Cousins. Such a shame.
By unknown Go To Postlol laker fans were hyping cousins.Getting an ACL tear before playing a game would probably deflate any hype, right?
Looks like the Lakers informed him yesterday he was getting cut. That's good to know we didn't do it secretively.
I like signing Morris, but I'm not sure if it really moves the needle very much. I suppose replacing a player who hasn't played all season with someone who can contribute is good, I just hope his head is on straight.
This also means, hopefully, less 3 guard lineups on the floor. That means less Rondo? Hopefully? They said they want Kuzma to play at the 3 with Morris at the 4. Caruso/KCP/Kuz/Morris/Dwight is a good bench unit, even replacing Caruso with Rondo is better than having them both on the floor at the same time.

Wow, just yesterday ESPN published an article of Cousin wanting to play in the playoffs. I guess that solves the potential locker room problem with 3 centers looking for minutes.
Douchemarcus gets no sympathy.
LOL @ him hyping up Faker chemistry, and now being waived. Fakers always got your bac.... 😂

I gotta say these new Timberwolves are more exciting to watch. Beasley getting a chance to play starters' minutes, young players like Reid/McLauglin/Hernangomez getting a chance to play. Plus Culver and Okogie play hard when they are out there.
OKC is a good team and CP3 has been fantastic in the clutch this season. Whoever they are in a playoff series with will be fun to watch.

Weak group of free agents so if they don't pay him someone else will.

My era... ish... was Rusty LaRue (got a ring with the Bulls). He was actually 3 years ahead of me, so I was in middle school and then his senior year overlapped with my freshman. That was the best basketball, football, and (probably... less sure on this one) baseball prospect NW ever produced, at least to my knowledge.

That's the kind of name you'd expect to hear in Days of Thunder or Talladega Nights.

Days of Thunder did have a Rusty (Wallace, real driver) and of course Russ Wheeler (fake driver), so can't argue.

I mean, 8 in the west is 500.
Playoffs should at least be teams that weren't merely average (or worse). More teams, same playoff number => more records on average above 500. Citation: math.
But if I'm sports czar, I'm expanding the league (Seattle and a +1) and I'm eliminating conferences entirely. Keep divisions (4 of 8, 8 of 4, who knows?) but balanced schedules otherwise. 16 teams get in, seeded accordingly.

The goal is to make the average games more watchable. Adding 2 teams would just water down the talents even further and create more blow outs.

Hey, I also said cut the playoffs to as low as 12. Bottom line, if you're letting more than half the league into the playoffs, you're by definition dipping into mediocrity more often than not. Only the strong should get in.
But I don't worry so much about expansion and watering down. Population in general and the basketball-playing population in particular are growing. Players are bigger, stronger, and faster, and more diverse than ever (thank you: Europe, Africa, Asia). The talent pool is strong, and certainly far bigger than it was when the last expansion (replacement) team was awarded to Charlotte. Seattle should have a team, and just as importantly, no city should have to lose a team for Seattle to get one.
(So also, when (not if) I'm sports czar, the teams will at minimum be a public/private partnership. Cities/Metros/States will have at least 50% ownership, so a greedy owner cannot look for greener pastures. If a team moves, it's only because the people decided to sell to another city.)
Mediocrity is relative. Expand the league today's mediocre teams would have a better record, despite losing talents. That doesn't make them better and the actual competition gets worse.
I don't see how one can say the talent pool is strong enough to support additional teams when so many teams are struggling to put up a competitive roster right now. Where do you magically find these 30 players?
