Although I feel like the gaming space would be at a much worse spot without Sony's PS4, I feel at the same time that PS4 has been a wash for me. Their big hitters were all solid, but I didn't love a single one unlike their PS3 titles. Hopefully TLOU2 changes that.

Had the same issue.
1. Change the region
2. Pause the download
3. Open settings change download speed limit to 300kb/s
4. Resume
5. Open settings change download speed limit to 0kb/s.
Worked for me.

You wouldn't download a PC.

Awesome, working now, thanks.
Didn't think I'd see the Switch eating up the X1's lunch given it launched years later and runs at the same resolution as some PS2 games.

Everyone going to pop out a netflix show next gen.
By jjasper Go To Postweird how the PS4 sold yet was so poorly supported for so long post launchBought one on launch day and sold it a few months later until Bloodborne came out for it.
2013-2014 was fucking harsh for PS4/X1 releases.
By Yurt Kojima Go To Postthey almost had the gameplay with 2 but for some reason decided to streamline it with 3

I was talking about the witcher 3 and the poor updates it got but yes the first year or so of this gen was a disaster. every developer/publisher thought they would fail no one was expecting PS4 to do what it did.

People were so down on new consoles.

I think the piss poor sales of the Wii U clouded some people's judgement on the 8th gen.
Everything about the run up to and launch of the PS4/X1 was hype. People I never knew were into games were pre-ordering and queuing up for them, shit was magical.
Hyped to drop 449.99 on a Fisher-Price Kid's My First PS5 and 129.98 for Horizon One Dawn and Spider-Man Greatest Edition at launch next year
Awwww yeah
Awwww yeah

anything was good compared to TW1 tho
2 was at least somewhat challenging
By HonestVapes Go To PostI think the piss poor sales of the Wii U clouded some people's judgement on the 8th gen.It was a combo of the Wii U plus every publisher thinking mobile was the future and that console sales would continue to trend down. I am not sure anything related to Xbox one was hype more the opposite. And really the xbox sales kind of justified the thinking. In fact who knows where we would be if PS4 sold like xbox.

2012 was a miserable year for major releases (asscreed 3 + halo 4 + far cry 3...and?) + mobile gaming was at its apex = guess consoles are over

Although the PS4 still massively outsold the X1, here in the UK a lot of people still bought it. Even with all bad the PR following the E3 showing, I reckon the sales between the two would've been much closer to 50/50 if they were priced the same in the UK. Anecdotal as it is, to this day I know more people with an Xbox than I do a PS4.

2012 was The Walking Dead episodic craze, what a horrible time that was.

By HonestVapes Go To PostI think the piss poor sales of the Wii U clouded some people's judgement on the 8th gen.I didn't know anybody that picked either one up at launch. The launches kinda came and went and they were both pretty available at retail. Microsoft had created so much confusion around the Xbox One that it was not nearly the same event as the 360.

It’s still the same people who bought a Xbox that are more excited for next gen. Basically they are just happier this time around that they aren’t getting served a shit sandwich and told to smile like this gen.
Objectively speaking there’s simply no way any meaningful amount of people who switched over regret it.
I think that’s also the driving force behind MS decision to reach out for the PC market, because they know it won’t be possible to match the competition in revenue if they stick to their box.
The 360 remains the anomaly and not the trend for MS gaming hardware division.
