By RrusheR Go To PostI used to buy pirated CD's in a street market. I miss that one on one with the pirates, looking them in the eyes knowing we were doing crime in broad daylight. Digital just doesn't have that human touch, the rush is gone.I had a neighbour burning PS1 games back in the day, fiver each or three for £10. I wasn't one of his customers though, I swear.
I don't condone it, but I there've been times I wish I'd pirated a game in the past year. GOW5 and Remnant: From The Ashes come to mind.
Reminds me of the good old Amiga 500 days.
I think out of the hundreds of games I had, about 4 of them were actual purchased copies lol. People would even photocopy the huge game manuals to circumvent the copy protection.

A friend of mine got his Amiga 500 from a distant cousin. The games came in a single plastic bag, filled to the brim with pirated floppies.
Must've been at least 150+ diskettes in there. One of them was Kick Off 2. What a time.

Piracy was really the only way to play games during my childhood, no legit game stores anywhere, the game shops all sold pirated CDs/DVDs. I buy games now, piracy converted a lot of people in third world countries who had no chance of playing videogames otherwise into legit customers when they grow up and get a job.
I started with a gameboy and then waited till PS1 for my first console because my dad ain't shit
wait no we had a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive first. Was all about Gunstar Heroes and Ristar <3
I feel like in an alternative timeline I'm probably either a Sonic fanboy or a furry

I had a teacher back in 5th grade that sold pirated games to us. Basically we spent most of the time in music class just looking at looking at the list of games he had for sale.
I always enjoy soft modding consoles, used to do the memory card soft mod for the PS2 for free to my friends. I think the thing I mostly used the PS2 soft mod for was PES/WE patches, I always had around 10 discs with different patches for each version.
I still soft mod consoles it for the fun of it, turning the SNES classic into a retro machine organized by platforms and with the covers all correct was a blast and I'll probably do the same to the Vita soon.
I don't have the time or patience for the games I do own, much less to pirate games.

I kinda quit gaming during the PS2 era until Feb 5, 2009.

I used to get all my consoles from a mate who worked in EB/GAME whatever back in the day. PS1 with FF8 and 5 other games plus a another pad for the mate's rate of £25? Why not fam? PS2 with Silent Hill 2, MGS 2, CV-X, DMC and an extra pad plus memory card for £60? Would be rude not to. Similarly got an N64 with Zelda, GoldenEye, F-Zero and 4 pads for £50.
What a time to be alive.
What a time to be alive.
my friends had a modded ps1. i wanted to get it done, too.
i saw an ad in the paper and, together with my dad, went to this old man's house where he had a line of people waiting to have their playstations modded. took a few minutes, cost us 50 bucks, and then we were on our way.
buying cheap copies of games also happened by coming across an ad in the paper. remember this woman driving by to our house to deliver my ordered games. 5 bucks a piece, iirc.
what a time that was.

incredible prices lmao
My dad used to work with a guy (who subsequently ran off to Croatia to avoid the taxman lmao, but that's a different story) who owned a game shop and used to let me and my bro browse the shop and pick whatever games we wanted, remember getting WWF No Mercy from him, what a game.

Now I just need to not go broke before the end of the year to get it. So hopefully covid goes away and I can get back to work.
Otherwise I'll be on the streets soon. Allah bless me.

By HonestVapes Go To PostDisregarding any talk of morals and supporting devs, piracy is too much hassle for me. I’d rather pay for the game and download it through a client like Steam, get the most out of my DL speed, and not worry about downloading the latest cracked patch.
how can you be a true pc ubermensch if you're not on a private torrent tracker that gives you steam-like download speeds
By Mystikal McGhee Go To PostI’m still waiting for that average game control to come to gamepass. What’s taking so long?
it's on psnow for 6 months.

This looks amazing. Hope it's not trash.
