By domino Go To PostKathryn Hahn must be a directors dream.I'm living for her. I hope this will be her big break.
She can give you anything
I honestly found the latest episode of WandaVision kind of disappointing
Sucks that I know nothing of Marvel comics character so none of these character reveals are doing it for me
I loved Hahn’s performance though

The reveal did a lot of the heavy lifting for what was ostensibly a set-up episode.
Hopefully they'll stick the landings, but if they do, then the slightly episode will have been worth it.

Damn, so are they actually using the Darkhold and bringing in Chthon?
A bop. Catchy as hell.

Star content is already popping up if you search for it on the search bar.
Very pleased to inform that many of the movies I looked at are in 4K HDR like Alita, the new Planet Of The Apes and even the original Independence Day.

Star officially on there now, decent selection in the UK, glad I've got somewhere to go back through Futurama
best thing about D+ is that the titles are all in german for me even though i've set the app to english so every time i want to watch something i have to google the dumb german name for the movie because they somehow don't have the movies show up under the original name. drives me mad.
netflix even finds the movies when you put in a vague description.

Even more idiotic, if you list all the titles they are clearly alphabetical ordered by their original name despite only displaying their translated name.

Captain America? Nope. We don't have that movie. May I interested you in "The First Avenger" instead? We also have some "Krieg der Sterne" over there.

german has some very silly translations it's also required to put a dumb tag onto every title.
can't just call a movie "Alien" nah, we need to slap on "Alien - The eerie creature from a strange world"

my favourite one is "Airplane!" i mean everyone knows what an airplane is so no need to go wild but nah
"The incredible journey in a crazy plane"

I enjoyed this episode (wandavision), probably more than I should, but maaaaaaaannnnn I wish they executed some of the elements better:
- Agatha was playing the role of a therapist, but did we really need her to recap every flashback, two seconds after it just happened?
- Hayward comes across as more mustache twirling than any other antagonistic force in the MCU. Throwing red hadoukens means she can cast a phoenix down? You know she damn near bodied Thanos, and you just parade her dead bf / fiance's chopped body parts, in front of her, and know that she isn't going to slap fire out of you? Wat. Also, what does this say about the rest of The Avengers? Lmao. Straight trash.
- Furthermore, he was fucking right. There is an episode left, and they have plenty of goodwill with me, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on how they handle Wanda. If they try and absolve her of the fact that she's currently a whole ass terrorist, then this shit instantly drops several tiers.

its a character episode not a story episode
i thought it was nice just to see who Wanda is considering she's been a background character in everything else

Absolutely.
It also goes to show how lucky they got casting Paul Bettany. I will miss his presence if they don't pull the fuckery that it looks like they will, to keep him around.

I liked the last episode, but there were couple of things that made me roll my eyes.
Agatha's thirst for Wanda's memories is just a story exposition. I mean, they could have told that background story so many different ways, but no, we have to know about these details because a Witch who wants powers, kidnaps children, kills a dog, entraps Wanda, just to go through her memries.
That was kind of cringe.

The worst bit was "Its TV night so we have to speak English" and then the mum looking out the window at a war going on and thinking fuck it lets watch some Dick Van Dyke
That’s life for some people bro
Gotta keep the kids minds focused on something else

The exposition was a bit silly, but I thought the episode was really good - especially the scene in the Avengers base.
Also tbh, going off some discussions online, some people absolutely need character moments explained to them.

Not gonna lie, freaking loved the final episode of WandaVision. Really glad that none of these shitty nerd comics theories came to be true.
Yeah, it was a Hollywood ending, and that’s exactly what I want from my MCU film/series

Nah, this ending was rushed, and at odds with the subtext of the show. In fact, it actively spits on it's face, in the last few moments. The more I think about it, the more displeased that I am.
I fuck with the show, still...a lot, but this finale was kinda nonsense, to me.

Yeah I was a bit disappointed that we ended up with the Marvel standard laser flinging boss fight. They were going the right way for a bit with the mental traps and stuff, but abandoned that for the big light show.
I enjoyed how they resolved Vision's fight tho. Was very true to his character.

its was cool, liked the conclusion to all the characters' storylines, but felt the sword director had no real purpose there beyond being a dick, and monica was there essentially just to get her superpowers
that scarlet witch outfit tho, phew

Series finale was completely meh. Overall I'd say the most excited I was during the show was the Pietro reveal and multiverse possibility it brought. Everything else was mundane and boring. It has top notch visuals and good charismatic actors and characters. But overall I'm leaving quite disappointed. have very little hope for the other marvel shows now.
By LabouredPatriot Go To PostAnyone watched Raya yet?Just finished watching it.
Really enjoyed it. Awkafina was crazy good as the dragon.
Not too sure about the massaging it’s trying to convey though. Trust brings world peace?
there are worse ways to come back to consciousness than Teyonah Parris on top of you lol. lucky Ralph
finale was good for what it was but disappointing overall. it couldve been hell of a lot more interesting. guess we will cross those bridges at a later time
the disintegrating/fragmenting/recomposing was cool as shit
im on board for the Falcon/Winter Soldier show but we'll see about Loki

Yeah, pretty bad finale overall. Was boring and while I liked the chemistry between Wanda and Vision in the first few episodes, I feel like it got worse as the series went on.
Maybe I'm just bored of this MCU now, no interesting characters or plots.

Weak finale. The Evan Peters casting turned out to be a joke, the resolution to the final fight was telegraphed in the "Previously on WandaVision", Monica did barely anything and Wanda's big sacrifice ends up without any weight because White Vision has Vision's memories and the post post credit scene shows that the kids are not gone completely.
Is Wanda going to fuck everything again just to save people who "died"?
That means that she had 0 personal growth after all besides becoming the Scarlet Witch.

Decent finale
Feel like if Dr Strange multiverse of madness was really coming out next month he would’ve made an appearance
If you never lived with reruns/tv land of old ass shows it would’ve been terrible for you
My bro hated it until the 80s episode / fake quicksilver popping up

What a shame they just switched back to MCU's formula for the last part of the season. Still the best MCU material since the first Guardians movie
I think th series tried to do too much, the pastiche of the old time sitcoms to new era more cynical single camera shows was a nice touch. Q
Paul Bettany, what can you say, so much subtle screen presence and charisma. I tgink he holds this show together.
My only dissapointment is how Monica is handled. Apart from that, very solid show - especially for their first attempt to TV from such a a massive and beloved property.
