You need to find that balance that suits you with sensitivity though, a lot of people don't seem to realise that. Too low is a chore to use and can make you lazy, too high is just too hard to control and will cause inconsistency. So many people just look to whatever professional player is using and try that, then go on to the next without ever finding their real comfort zone for sensitivity.
I find 1600DPI feels nice with the O-, and in Siege my hipfire sens works out to be a 40cm 360. ADS sens works out to be a 40cm 180. I can use those settings in most other games though, MW, Apex, etc. I feel I need a higher sens, so I adjust on a per game basis.

I just start off with every game so that a comfortable full-swipe of my mouse gets me a 360 (so that a half-swipe gets me a 180). Depending on the game, I will go up or down from there.
That is why I need that light mouse, to avoid making me lazy. 1.46 at 400 dpi master race. One almost full swipe across my mouse pad will do a 180

Wait no. It is 455mm. I thought i wasn't using the big boi. But no. I just do sick fliccs. I aim with my arm way more than the wrist really, that's just for micro adjustments
The aiming around 0:22 should give you a good idea of how low that sens is. You can see me lifting the mouse to turn around, due to running out of mouse pad space a few times

This sale has been weak af for PC gear. Only thing somewhat tempting me is 32Gb kit of RAM.
Would be great if I didn’t already have pretty much everything maxed out as it is mind. Those HDR400 4K/144hz monitor are going for well under a grand, which is really decent. There’s 9700Ks going for under £300, loads of sales on GPUs, 2080Tis for £900, etc.
Think it might be the first year I pass on all these sales.

really taking a wide arm stance, really begining to aim with my whole arm stepped my game way up. I also try to focus on always recentering and keeping my arm loose so i can snap or swing to where i need to when i need it
By HoboVapes Go To PostI agree for the most part, but I definitely think it's more practice than just being gifted. You spend 8+ hours a day using a mouse and aiming, unsurprisingly you'll become really good at aiming.I was really thinking more of skill ceilings and the fact that a lot of people seem to think you can punch right through with the right combination of perfect mouse + perfect settings + ideal hand posture, when these things are far more likely to simply expedite your way to the top of the skill bracket you (fortunately or unfortunately) find yourself in. Some things you can and absolutely should train and adjust, some you can't.
It just so happens that fast paced / twitch fps games are very abundant with the latter.
I definitely got better at Apex after I switched to a lighter, more comfortable mouse and re-adjusted my sensitivity. Coming from PUBG I had to up it twice, because I was getting destroyed in close-up combat due to how long it took me to turn around. I was constantly running out of space on my rodentpad and kept banging the mouse against my giant keyboard.
But, like, I could be playing Apex for 8 hours a day and Shroud could quit gaming and in 10 years I would still get annihilated in a close-up 1 vs. 1 situation, when we're both strafing and sliding and shit and he's simply far better at reacting to what's happening in front of him and tracking my movement. No amount of settings and training and me playing with the confidence that comes with having been in those situations thousands of times will help me.
Life is largely unfair.
Some people are capable of hitting pull-up 3s at the logo and some can't, even if they practice just as well and twice as much

I'm at 1600 dpi. 1 ingame Apex, 3 ingame CoD. Siege i can't remember, i think its something low like 8 for vertical and horizontal and then like 60+ for ADS

I have the 500gb version, and yeah it's been great for a couple of years. Although I moved my OS to another drive already.
It is however hard to justify buying a SATA SSD these days, when a 1TB Crucial P1 nvme SSD can be had for the same money.

But I'm guessing you don't have a m.2 slot on your mobo.

Seems I’m in luck? What’s the benefit of an nvme style ssd over the other?

Form factor and speed mostly. Although the latter mostly applies to specific tasks; for regular OS usage and game load times it should be almost the same.
If you buy an NVME just make sure you put it in the right slot tho, as that motherboard also has an M.2 form factor slot that will only give you SATA speeds.

As inky said, it's debatable whether you'll notice the difference in speeds / snappiness outside of raw file transfers, but it's basically free performance, so why not. At the very least it's less of a hassle to install. No cables needed, you just pop it into the m.2 slot, that's it.
By Zabojnik Go To PostYou are in luck indeed.I found that the most incredible thing, the way they just click in and then when you look into the case and see no big hard drives anywhere, cables etc a magical moment in life

All that wasted space, I wince at it now.

Why is it so fucking hard to find a Display Port 1.4 3m cable on Amazon that isn't blag or stupidly expensive?
the more i look at ultra wides, the more sad i get there was no good deals yesterday. feels bad man. i mean look at how sensational rdr2 looks with super ultra wide

Needed to load an unofficial program to get the cutscenes running at 21:9 too though, they were letterboxed without it.

Yeah I saw the letterbox fix mod, when searching around for some sweaty skin abigail mods. I also have had close to not problems with rdr2 on pc, but the launcher itself kept fucking up while downloading for me...

It was done when I got home so I can't complain.
Copped an Ryzen 2600x in the end. Was cheaper than the 2600 for some reason (it no longer is and has sold out).
Spent the entire day assembling first my sister's PC which is downloading Planet Zoo as we speak and then my new PC.
Fuck the Corsair Carbide 100r. Cunt of a case.
The plastic container of the stock AMD cooler had cracked so I spent a good amount of time fishing tiny plastic shards out of thermal paste. Not nice.

By inky Go To PostThat case looks like EZ mode compared to an Antec 900 where I built my first 3 PCs.It's just a cheap piece of shit compared to my case. There are holes next to the mobo for cable management so I spent a good amount of time threading all cables through it so everything looked nice and neat. When I was done and wanted to put the side panels back on I found out that there is absolutely zero room for cables behind the mobo. Had to redo everything.

By Wahabipapangus Go To Postso close to pulling the trigger on the super ultra wide from samsung. someone talk me out of it.I want to say that since you're going to have more than one monitor one ultrawide + one pleb aspect ratio screen is more than enough real estate and immersion for both productivity and gaming, unless you're working on multiple document / spreadsheets at the same time or edit videos or follow the markets on a daily basis ... or are into driving / flight sim games, and that I don't really see the point of a SUW, other than the cool factor.
At the same time though ... do it.
RIP.
well FM is a kind of spreadsheet i guess.
On sale until tomorrow, it's cheaper than the Alienware AW3418DW and pretty much exact same price as the X34P, plus it got hdr (which i know is a mess on pc, but hopefully gets better)...

Although I'm happy with my monitor set up, I did consider selling the X27 for a super ultrawide in the past. Though, I'm generally quite happy doing faux-ultrawide on the X27 by running some games at 3840x1620. I tried it awhile ago with a 1080p monitor (1920x810) and it felt small. Despite being the same screen size, it feels bigger on the 4K screen. Looks good too, saves some performance and makes for some nice screenshots.
i ordered it. however it isnt sent until the end of the week, so will take a look for sales tomorrow on their cyber monday bullshit, to see if i turned a bit more sensible by that time, especially if some deals on the alienware uw.
