The prices don’t really correlate with performance or where they fall in the product stack though. Supply and how well they mine crypto do sadly.
The 6500XT and RTX 3050 both have very small dies compared to the higher tier cards, which means more cards per wafer can be manufactured. They’re also both very weak mining GPUs. UK supply for the 3050 is stated to be over 1000 available through retailers on release.
The 6500 XT is definitely a bum deal still at £200. £150 or lower and I’d consider it acceptable as a budget card providing it’s going into a PCIE4 slot.

This is the only RGB software I've come across that works across all my different branded components and peripherals without any issues. It's not without some flaws, but for the most part I can set a colour across all of them or an effect and it just works.
I've had issues with the software for my ASrock board in the past which is now solved completely by just using this software instead. Overall, it's working for all my different branded parts. ASrock, Logitech, Glorious, EK and G.skill.
Hmmmm. This has caused the RGB on my Corsair fans to disappear and never to return despite uninstalling it and deleting the settings.
By Laboured Go To Posthow would I know m8 I can't see there's no light this is a disaster

I’m almost certain it has fans. New PC has been fucking great mind you. Actually playing video games on it and everything. Wild stuff.

By JesalR Go To PostWe’re still around £150/TB on PCI-E 4, hope that shit drops some time soonI’ve seen £120-130 often, especially around when the PS5 got expandable storage patched in.
I'm still rocking my Optane drive as my OS and application drive. The latency on it is so much more important for those tasks than bandwidth.
I will be curious to see how games that use Direct Storage effectively will favor bandwidth vs latency and to what extent.

I've been having to recommend pre-builts to people who want a new computer. I may even have to do that myself. Feels bad, man.

Oof, I was hoping Hopper would go away from triple 8 pin connectors, triple slot cards, and the like
Well, my quest to find a HDMI 2.0 / 2.1 extension cable that allows for 4k / HDR / 120hz / VRR between my GPU and the C9 oled continues ...
Combos tried so far:
3070ti FE <-> 15cm HDMI 2.1 flat extension cable <-> 2m HDMI 2.0 cable <-> C9 ...... no signal
3070ti FE <-> 15cm HDMI 2.1 flat extension cable <-> 3m True HQ certified HDMI 2.1 cable <-> C9 ...... no signal
3080 Gigabyte Gaming OC <-> 35cm HDMI 2.1 flat extension cable <-> 2m HDMI 2.0 cable <-> C9 ...... no signal
3080 Gigabyte Gaming OC <-> 35cm HDMI 2.1 flat extension cable <-> 3m True HQ certified HDMI 2.1 cable <-> C9 ...... intermittent signal
Based on partial success of that last combo I've ordered a shorter HDMI 2.1 certified cable (1m) and another, non-flat 15cm HDMI 2.1 extension cable, hopefully the third time's the charm.
The C9 seems to be extremely finicky when it comes to HDMI extensions, but has no problems doing 4k / HDR / 120hz / VRR over a single, cheap af, 2m long HDMI 2.0 cable (presumably using DSC, it's impossible to tell).
At this point I don't even care about my precious DP / HDMI connection panel at the rear of the Meshlicious, I just wanna get to the bottom of this.

By diehard Go To PostTried an optical HDMI cable?Not yet, I'm keeping that as my last resort ... or not. The problem is very likely at the extension cable part of the chain anyway, so if this new extension I have coming and not even a super short HDMI 2.1 copper cable will do, then an optical HDMI cable probably won't help either.
If nothing works I'll just use a single HDMI cable like I'm doing now. I was hoping to avoid the small annoyance of fumbling with it every time I take the PC down to the living room, since the HDMI port is kind of hard to get to in its default location near the bottom of the case, and I was also trying to avoid stressing the HDMI port on the GPU whenever I feel like gaming on the OLED, but it's really not a big deal.
By HonestVapes Go To PostThe true answer is to build a dedicated living room PC.No, the realest answer is ultrawide QD-OLED monitor, leave living room gaming to the P(leb)S5.
Might have just snagged another 3090 FE off the italian LDLC, waiting for confirmation / storno. Fuckers quietly upped the mrsp by a 100€.
Gods bless DLSS. Getting 70-90fps with almost everything maxed out in Dying Light 2 in one the most demanding areas of the game.
EDIT: Storno'd. RIP.

lmao ridiculous
By Celcius Go To PostBut can it cool a cpu running Crysis?Using that thing while gaming would be pretty silly
By Celcius Go To PostBut can it cool a cpu running Crysis?Depending on the CPU, absolutely
From the reactions I thought it was a brand new cooler ... it's the same one that's been out for like 8 months. Carry on.
Genuinely surprised the Ryzen 5000 series hasn’t dropped in price yet to respond to the prices of Intel’s 12th gen. Lowest I’ve seen is the 5600G at £190. £190 for a 12400 or £170 for a 12400F, either are a decent step up in performance.
By Laboured Go To PostHow am I supposed to buy this, it won’t fit in my car
I’ve come to really dislike this case layout on the ITX side. Purely for the 240mm AIO support which always results in squashing fuck out of the tubing.
Looks nice tho, can see a 240mm custom loop on the CPU working out well.
