Trump called this White House defender ‘wonderful.’ He was fired from his previous job for alleged sexual harassment.

ASU’s 13-page investigative report describes a series of inappropriate incidents often initiated by Dennard with the two women in 2013 and 2014. The second woman said Dennard would sometimes throw things at her and that she caught Dennard looking at her breasts. When she tried to adjust her blouse, he said “Don’t worry, I’ve already seen it.” Dennard acknowledged making the comment, or something similar to it, according to the report.
Dennard also admitted to touching the first woman’s “neck with his tongue,” according to the report. In that instance, Dennard “came up behind EMPLOYEE 1 during another [McCain Institute] event and whispered in her ear that he wanted to ‘f---’ her.”
The report says Dennard and one of the women socialized outside the office and engaged in “banter of a sexual nature.”
Even so, it says, Dennard “engaged in much of this behavior in the workplace and/or during work events. Such conduct, of course, is inappropriate . . . unprofessional and unbecoming of a university employee, and in violation of ASU policy.”

Mueller may be an issue for Trump, but he’s protected by a complicit GOP congress and his position. This state stuff is a real issue for him though. It’s civil for now but their building criminal cases and his whole family is in danger. I’ve also read that NY also has the ability to dissolve a corporation that’s been doing illegal shit and is looking to do this very thing for the Trump org. His whole operation may blow up as well.
This dude is bigger than Cohen btw. The fact that he’s granted immunity in a case where the defendant already plead guilty suggest he has more info than just something to Nail Cohen. Tbis dude controlled all of the families finances. He shared the spot at the top of the org with Jr. Notice Jr didn’t get immunity lol
Yeah it's the State stuff I'm more interested in. There are a lot of people/businesses on NY that hate Trump for his MANY prior shady business acts and can help bury him in court. Trump could legit lose like half his NY assets.
There's absolutely no way it's getting worse. It's getting waaaaay more visibility and reporting though.
There's something to the idea of pushing the narrative that it is getting worse in order to influence more drastic changes and social shifts is a good thing, but whether it's objectively worse is hard to argue.
Worse than what? When we didn't record crimes against certain people at all and the whole town would gather around a lynching full of smiles?
By reilo Go To PostThere's something to the idea of pushing the narrative that it is getting worse in order to influence more drastic changes and social shifts is a good thing, but whether it's objectively worse is hard to argue. It's a lot of things.
Of course sensationalism - racism hasn't changed at all, but the first time in decades it's actually profitable to give significant attention to. That leads to all sorts of genuine efforts being led in circles by outside influencers.
Then youve got the reactive fear mongering. Whenever you see "race war" you immediately know you're talking to an idiot. America is wholly undefeated in race wars - and African Americans lost that generations ago. What this does is rev up completely irrational responses for some sort of resustance or change that either doesn't exist at all or is not even legitimate. You see this in the heavy handed pushback to black lives matter in particular.
Then you've got the people who just leverage all of what they know against a context of the late 90s to present day. "Hate crimes on the rise. Police brutality skyrocketed" those weren't even a thing until recently. Even now you can barely get either claim to stick so imagine what it was like to watch a friend get mauled for a day off a few decades ago. These people play into the manipulation by unconsciously disregarding the previous injustices, letting legislative figures off the hook completely for past broken promises, as well as presenting the idea that all leadership must be without flaw or criticism less they be no more than false idols who need to be torn down for the good of all.
This is the best it's ever been and it's still shit

mention that they've purposely redirected resources that could have been used to either investigate White hate groups or groups to help people get out of said groups.
As for actual change within the system there have been a few key elections were vocal activists have been able to get DA poitions.

Tensions between different groups whether it be ethnic, class, religious, is on the rise. Trump wouldnt have been a GOP president let alone the main candidate 4 years ago. Shit like first Unite the Right march, open nazis running for office would have been too fucking bizarre just a few years ago but now it's almost expected.

While racism, both institutional and amoung people, have been going on, the increase in occurrences of reported incidents is alarming.

My guy made a post stating that it’s getting worse. He also states his reason for saying so, in that it’s on pace to be the worst year based on police brutality statistics but sure, he’s definitely comparing 2018 to 1960s even though police brutality wasn’t a statistic back then
But hey don’t let me stop y’all from being the workest, wisest black men to ever walk this planet.
But hey don’t let me stop y’all from being the workest, wisest black men to ever walk this planet.
I think sensationalist statements that genuinely forget, misinterpret, etc history don't help anyone, regardless of the motivations of the person doing it. History is important. How we got to here is important. It's ever easier to fall back into awful shit if you forget or don't teach the awful shit or say "these times are the worst in generations." They aren't. Absolutist language like that is just dishonest. Compare it to an actual year in an awful era. Do the homework.
We aren't even talking about generations is the point...Pops was born in 1935 and saw lynchings.. shit if I was born 10 years earlier I would had not had full "rights" as an American.. Yeah is it getting worse from the "progress" we made? Sure, it seems that way but the reality is that it was better hidden and they cleverly started the reverse racism buzzword and created victims out of themselves...started challenging facts pushing counterpoints for everything that was horrible throughout the US history (stuff like "hey blacks owned slaves too..." or "Africans were selling the slaves..." and so on..)
Basically it has always been there bubbling under the surface and waiting to pop up again.. like promised...

you talk history, you talk context as well. if i said this was the worst generation for women in history i'd rightfully get clowned on the spot
There's a way to talk of certain kinds of regression without sensationalizing and it's important because it's pinpointing the exact issue rather than just making hollow grand statements. Far as I know redlining been a thing but in some parts it's getting worse again, that would be something specific to pinpoint, rectify and we'd all learn some shit about the economic underpinnings of racism in a given region.
something getting corrected and discussed is nothing to get butthurt over lol. i swear that's my biggest headache dealing with any racial talk at all. a discussion/critique is not a wall. you can disagree with people burning flags and not be a coon. buying a gun doesn't make you a criminal. you can rap about appropriate framing of a particular time in history without it being an attack on another's character.

Excuse the comparison to rape here but rape is reported more than ever, does that automatically mean more rape is happening or that more types of attacks are recognized as sexual assault? More victims feel compelled to come forward? People can't just force themselves on their spouse anymore? Less people ignoring the prevalence of statutory and predatory abuse and outing rapists?
So the question becomes how can one consider something rape if the times didn't even do so in many cases? Victims were shushed up. It will be reflected in any statistics you try to gleam from that era.
it would be the same with any reports (or lack there of) about being manhandled by the police as a minority.

This is a vastly underrated post. Not enough upvotes for this.
One of the things I remember learning from other posters in this thread, like RAU and blackace, is that black people weren't even allowed to form their own communities in the South. When they had a good community with a good school for their kids and other good public services, their community got bombed, or legit burned down, I can't remember which exactly. Just when they were starting to get ahead, there was no more recourse for them, and no repercussions for their attackers. It was just heartbreaking, and maddening.
And I agree with DY, if the likes of Jeff Sessions could have their way, shit like what I described above would still be happening everywhere all the time. There would be state sanctioned vandalism and terrorism of black peoples' lives so blatantly as if to dare ye olde moderates to do anything about it at all.
So basically what I'm convinced of is: the Civil War never ended the way it should have been ended. There was too much mercy shown. And I used to think I want to get the hell out of America. The acceptance of Trump has shown us that half of this country still doesnt give a fuck about poc as long as they get theirs. They'll make up excuses/reasons for anything.
I just heard on Chapo Trap House that the legislature in Georgia just closed down a bunch of polling places for the upcoming election because the Democratic canidate can potentially win (She's female and Black). They didnt even give any bullshit reasons, just closed them.

The idea of a new civil war, race war, or 'cold' civil war is pure romanticism.
If you want to say that "America is now reaching a boiling point" these days, then you're kinda ignoring what America's flash point temp actually is. Also, it suggests not one but two fully unified forces convinced that a force on force conflict would not only solve all of their problems but would be worth it *and* be more gratifying than talking shit while going to work in relative safely.
If anything we've grown so far past that in our dirt dealing that it'd be a few steps backwards. Its much easier to point two poorly framed rhetorics against each other towards the same goal than engage in a rally of the troops.
Hell, community leaders don't even get assassinated like that any more. I'm not talking specifically minorities either. Union leaders used to get knocked off for showing too much heart. Now? Its real thing to have people believe that Unions are bad lol. There's no war to fight with that type of thing taking place. War been over.
And for the history heads - I still say that the Missouri Compromise is what defined America when it comes to race.
