Not only are they trying to go full EV, they're trying to go several notches upmarket and compete with the likes of Bentley

I don't think this is happening either... like where tf is this thing(s) if it's even real?
It just sounds like it's vaporware at this point with how silent they've been completely... like the brand is literally rotting away at this point they need to say something. And to kinda put that in perspective, our CPCs for ads today compared to last year is down at least 50% lmao. Good for our marketing budget I guess, but bad coz that means no one's clicking on them.
It's kinda sad really. Everyone I've talked to knows Jaguar is a sports car brand with a very specific clientele and those people are NOT gonna easily cross over to look at a luxobarge so it makes me wonder how they want us to sell them things if it's not vaporware.
Jag is pretty much just SUVs in the uk. Rarely see XE/XF anymore, but their SUVs are all over the place.

it sucks. All the jag managers on my road used to have XE/XF/F-type company cars and now they all have that Haram-Pace shoebox bullshit sitting on their tiny driveways.
By jongkookie Go To PostI think Jaguar is dead y'all.
😤
They are in limbo. Their CEO quit last month after fucking the entire JLR brand and their direction. They have no strategy in place. They need to quickly bring the hybrid F-Pace over to the US, because it is a GOOD product with decent range in EV-mode. They need to improve the battery on the I-Pace and introduce a longer wheelbase, because, again, that is a GOOD product just slightly outdated and small for this fat ass market. The 5.0 needs to live, imo. It needs to be paired with a battery in a future sports car or in the future XJ. At the very least, the XJ needs the BMW 4.4L V8 with electric assist.
It seems like nearly every time I get on the road in the last ~4 months or so there is always someone that is trying their best to involve me in an accident. Driving way under the speed limit, crossing multiple lanes of traffic in a single motion to cut me off, driving the wrong way down a one way, sitting in the middle of the road to make a turn (and blocking everyone's view of oncoming traffic), bonking their horn at someone sitting at a red light with no turn option available, and like ten other things I've forgotten by now.
I hate it.

Welcome to the club. I'm wondering how any of these people passed their tests
In America? What test?
Fun fact: In Texas, children as young as 14 can get a driver's license without needing to take a test as long as their parents sign a waver claiming they need it to drive a tractor on their farm.

It sounds Texas af though.
Not too far off: https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/driver/parenttaughtprogram.htm
Your parent can claim you are good to drive.
And to be frank, I think the entirety of the US -- no matter which state -- does inadequate driver certification. It's barebones, low-bar, and lacks any sort of real education to become a driver.
And don't get me even started on enforcement.

I'm sitting here getting a few thousand views on my brand new 1 week old YouTube chan....and Demuro buyng a CGT after selling a chunk of his company.
Last sale on BaT was around $1.2mil so that CGT was basically chump change out of the $37mil he got. 😮💨
Speaking of expensive shit, I just saw Tavarish's tweet... kinda surprised it took a while coz that had to have been from the CarTrek jump.

My Camry is 13 years old. Just got my steering wheel squeak fixed and now my driver’s door has a rattle. Feels like I’m playing whack a mole. Would be nice to get something newer but this only has 133k miles. I just wish the interior quality was better. Seems like it got much better starting with the generation after this.

My 2014 Honda is at 147k. Still only had one major issue and that was my fault.

Do any of you fine gentlemen use dash-cams? I could use a recommendation or two after nearly wrecking today. Fucking Land Rover Nonce undertook me so close my parking sensors went off, and then cut into my lane close enough that they went off again. Had to slam breaks hard enough for the ABS to kick and nearly sent me off the motorway. Sick of other people nearly killing me every day I drive.
I really should get a dash cam. Idk how it is in other parts of the world/country but apparently in NYC once it’s dark there are no more rules.
Always some dumbass going the wrong way down a one way

My "watch out this guy is about to do something dumb/aggressive/dangerous" list for NY drivers:
- Any one of Maxima / Altima
- Golf / GTIs
- Every BMW but especially pre-2012 3-Series
- Minivans in Flushing
- Tinted windshield
- Obscured license plate

If you see a tinted windshield infiniti you better hope you’re in good standing with God cuz your time might be coming.
"The fact is we need both BEVs and hydrogen," Daimler Truck Chief Executive Martin Daum told Reuters. "The amount of energy BEVs need is so enormous that I see a strain on our grid that ultimately it can't fulfill."I for one, welcome our EV vs Hydrogen Fuel Cell war
Daimler Truck will invest up to 15 billion euros ($16 billion) on fuel cells over the next decade, Daum said.
Feels like we wrote about Consumer Reports' 2022 Brand Report Car and 10 Top Picks a few weeks ago, but it was last April. So the mag is back with a ranked roster of 32 brands and ten vehicles in four categories for your debating pleasure. Starting with the brands, last year's top three were Subaru, Mazda and BMW. This year, the Munich crew climbed two spots to win the prize thanks to "Superb road test scores and solid results in CR’s reliability and owner satisfaction surveys." Subaru narrowly fell to second, maintaining its four-year run in the top three. Mini, eighth last year, jumped five spots to get the last step on the podium. The rest of the top ten was Lexus (up one spot from last year), Honda (down one spot from last year), Toyota (up three), Genesis (up 12), Mazda (down six), Audi (down three) and Kia (up eight).wild

Damn...
I use Garmins. Mini 2 on the Mac. Dash Cam 57 on the others.
Still in SD quality. Give it time to process up to HD.
I'm sort of surprised this video here got a lot of traction for a brand new channel:

Any feedback would be great, as well. I'm still making lots of adjustments as I go along. The 296 vid was shot using a 360 cam inside, my Galaxy S Fold 3 outside. The 488 vid (and Huracan vid) used a Sony ZV1F all throughout, but the auto-focus was going nuts and the res was set to 1080p. I had to color correct the 488 video, as well.

I think I’m gonna go full electric when I buy a new car in March / April.
The new inflation act tax credit only put applies to cars made in US though which limits my options and really makes Tesla more appealing as they also just slashed prices
I can’t afford a lightning with any decent package and doubly so a Rivian. That leaves the Y or the ID 4 mostly. The EUV is too small

I was so hoping I could avoid a Tesla. I liked the Ioniq 5 a lot and the EV6 too

The ionic 5 no longer qualifies and is a car so the credit onky applied for 55 and under
55-60 top end, but it would have to be an “suv” to be 55+ and get the credit.
I don’t dislike the Y, just Elon lol
Also for various reasons, I’m forced to buy in April. An electric Chevy blazer will be out this summer but I can’t wait that long

Yeah, that makes this tough. There’s no such thing as a good middle-market EV right now. They’re all entry level commuter cars (too small) or high end luxury vehicles (way too expensive.)
The only things I can think of that might work are a slightly used Audi E-Tron (bad range/efficiency) or if you were OK with PHEV you might be able to squeeze a Jeep Grand Cherokee into budget
Better options if you can wait 6-8 months
Rented an Audi Q3 while my wife has to be in Dallas for job training again. She likes it and now wants it.
Anyway, going down this rabbit hole of car reviews and comparable cars and I come across the X1. I’m not really understanding how a “luxury” vehicle, even entry level, doesn’t come with heated seats.
BMW out their fuckin minds charging a fee.
