By Lunatic Go To PostIt's just sad though. Dude has a Porsche but would rather think of dropping that much on a vehicle that is in a 80k American manufactured chassis. The care Porsche puts into driving dynamics is unmatched and the German attention to interior/exterior build quality is unmatched in it's market segment. It's all just sad
can't hear you over the beautiful sound of my future V8 m8
By reilo Go To PostThe Z06 is also gonna be worth $71k two years after purchase whereas the Porsches won't depreciate at allI didn't even think of that but you are right. Even more reason to get a Porsche.
By Smokey Go To PostMeh it does sound great but the sound of precision from a Porsche boxer 6 is unmatched. The car will perform the same every single time and will never overheat under stress. The 718 GT4 RS is probably the best sounding Porsche ever.

i don't dispute anything you're saying. i'd still get a corvette and will eventually.
besides, i already have a Porsche i know first hand how good they feel and drive. It's not like it'd be out of the stable whenever I get a vette

Fuck my Audi dealer passed away. He's owned the Audi Dealership here and was such a genuine good person. Dude gave me KYD 5,000 off my purchase of an A3 because he sold the one I wanted. The issue was that he never heard back from me due to my bank taking an entire month to approve the facility. Basically saved me a year of loan payments and then selling the car at cost just because he felt bad.
Holy fuck this is amazing:
Also I finally bit the bullet and bought new wheels for my GTI... will post pics once it's installed lol.

December's been a pricy month so far. After getting my new license plates, state inspection, and renewing my vehicle registration earlier, today I bought four new Michelin Defender 2 tires and then also got an alignment. The tires were getting kinda old anyway but over the weekend I got a nail/screw in one of my tires and then that was the final nail in the coffin (pun intended).
Today all of a sudden there's this loud clicking sound coming from somewhere in the rear of my car, in that plastic area behind the rear seats. Since it's an annoyance and not a functional issue, I may wait a little before tackling it as I'm tired of dealing with car stuff at the moment.

What's up with people posting thinkpieces about "which car is gonna be an investment" articles/videos/whatever?
I've seen Cammisa, Catchpole, Demuro and even our own Alpha create their own list of cars.
I don't have a problem with it, but it's kinda sus how the creator community is trying to push this agenda right now lol.
Anyway, got my wheels installed on Friday. Shitty pic for now coz it's been raining all week here in Dallas:
Will get better pics once the weather clears up soon.
I love the wheels but I'm undecided on the tires for now. I'll probably do a write-up once I have better pics and I've driven over 1,000 miles on them coz I've only driven 200 so far lol.

LOL @ comparing a Cayman to a Z06 Vette. Smokey, don't listen to the circus. The Z06 is BY FAR better than any super high-end Cayman variant. Shit, apart from a GT3/GT3RS, I'd probably have that Z06 over that too. It sounds absolutely ballistic, even if it doesn't look all that great. But I've heard it drives like an Italian supercar. And that blind folded, nobody would know it wasn't Italian.
What sucks is that I wrote that post TWO WEEKS AGO! Had it saved on my G Drive and forgot to post it. When I saw Camissa post his, I was legit fuming and mad at myself! His list is pretty fucking insane, btw. Too many cars with way too much money. I've got more cars, that aren't absolute bank breakers.

ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh not really
they were highly inspired by the 458, even moreso than the 488 due to the latter being turbocharged. wouldn't say it was reverse engineered though.

$150,000
Buy a car without seeing it in person, brehs.
Direct delivery is a stupid model for this reason alone. I want to inspect any vehicle before I take possession of it.
Rimac said he'd already been working on a Bugatti project, ex-CEO Stephan Winkelmann having sought assistance on "an electric CUV similar to what the Ferrari Purosange turned out to be." We're told the idea was to rework the Rimac Nevera powertrain for the purpose. Once Rimac knew he was going to take over the joint venture company, the crossover was dead. Rimac said, "I knew exactly what I wanted the next car [after the Chiron] to be, and we started developing a combustion engine on our own." We will get a concept view of that powerplant next year, described as a "totally bonkers" hybrid in a car that doesn't share any parts with an existing Bugatti or Rimac. We'll probably be waiting until the last Chirons and Mistrals are produced before it hits the road, though.A man of the people
As for the canceled Bugatti crossover, Rimac says that's not coming back. We've heard that from every supercar and hypercar maker that now has or will soon have an SUV, haven't we? Here's where we reach the gray area: Rimac isn't opposed to a four-seater car, he's opposed to an SUV.
By Smokey Go To PostComing up on one year of having the Macan S. About 14,500 miles on it ๐Nice, if I ever get a Porsche itโs going to be the Macan. I test drove one last year and really liked it.

By Celcius Go To PostNice, if I ever get a Porsche itโs going to be the Macan. I test drove one last year and really liked it.
Itโs pretty great. The extra 2 seats are clutch but itโs also not a monster of a suv (unless youโre kibner ).
This is the last year before it goes EV because of course It is.
Interesting, having driven both, it's impressive that on their points scale the two cars tied. I loved the sounds of the 296GTB, the engine sounds better than I thought it would, but also the blow-off valve is VERY present, which is awesome. You hear all sorts of fluttering, wooshing, and whistling, more like the F40. I haven't driven the MC20, but I am very curious about the sound of that.
Anyway, I liked the Artura a lot too. It's very refined, sounds solid, and goes like hell. Not quite as fast the Ferrari, but still plenty quick and a little bit quicker than my 570S. A hotter version of the Artura is definitely going to be pretty intense.

Fuck man, just a few days ago there was a lot of talk on the internet coz it's been 9 years since Schumi's accident also in the snow. Then the last 2-3 hours have been shit, this news and Hamlin's injury... this day needs to end already.

It's official: the Mazda MX-30 electric car with the rotary engine range extender will finally be revealed this week. It will be shown on January 13 at this year's Brussels Motor Show in Belgium.ROTARY BACK!!!!
Someone buy me this. I'll trade you my Cayman. https://www.porsche.com/usa/models/911/911-dakar/911-dakar/
By reilo Go To PostROTARY BACK!!!!If I had the money to buy cars as a hobby, that would certainly be one of them.
Welp guys, my BMW M5 is basically done. I picked it up from paint a week ago, and it came out looking beautiful. The last items on my list after the paint were: rear brakes and new updated headlights, both of which I had done today. I had a list of 33 things I wanted taken care of on this car. I have done 32 of them. The remaining issue is a noisy/squeaky AC blower motor. It blows cold air just fine, but squeaks/chirps like a mouse if you turn it up past 2. It's located inside the dashboard behind the iDrive screen, so getting to it is a royal bitch.
I can live with it for now, especially since the car is garaged and I don't really crank the AC to crazy high levels anyway. But I'm probably $10K into this car, and I love it. It's such a special car to me. Owning a manual one, must be absolutely heavenly. But this SMG is so much better than the R-Tronic Audi R8 was.
The cherry on top for the M5 is going to be an exhaust.

Corvette E-ray next week (hybrid not all electric)

Chevrolet has released the first official teaser for the 2024 Corvette E-Ray.
This hybrid version of the C8 Corvette will have all-wheel drive.
It debuts next week, on January 17.
The latest version of the C8 Corvette will break ground in many ways. It's a hybrid and features all-wheel drive, both firsts for any production Corvette, and we now know it will make its official debut January 17, thanks to this official teaser video that shows a blue E-Ray driving through snowy conditions.
The E-Ray had leaked previously on Chevy's configurator tool, which gave us a glimpse at its widebody appearance shared with the Z06. We also saw "ERAY" badges and a button inside suggesting adjustable regenerative braking. This teaser video also shows a new function called Stealth mode, which we figure is a way of keeping the car in electric mode to minimize the sound of the V-8 gasoline engine.
By reilo Go To PostBro you had me scared when you said done and thought you totaled it smh
Congrats
I would cry ugly tears if that happened.
Kinda want to learn how to drive manual, but I know they arenโt really common anymore so is it even worth it
Plus my wife wants an SUV which I keep fighting against and Iโm pretty sure there are no manual SUVs cuz those cars are for morons who canโt even drive.

I have been driving a manual for about 4 years now and love it. As long as I'm not in stop-and-go traffic for a half-hour or having to stop and start on a steep incline, anyway. It will make you sad that everything is moving to electric vehicles which are not manual, at all, and only have 3 gears, at most.
