Got to drive the BMW iX yesterday.
It feels and drives like a BMW for sure, but electric.
If you've watched Doug DeMuro's video on it, everything he says/shows is pretty much spot on.
As for the looks, I have no comments on that. 🙂
Anyway, out of all the non-Tesla EVs I've gotten to drive this is my ranking:
1. Porsche Taycan
2. BMW iX
3. Volvo XC40 Recharge & C40 Recharge(they're pretty much the same car)
4. Jaguar I-PACE
5. Volkswagen ID.4
We've also got the i4 Gran Coupe and I'm hoping to get some seat time in it sometime this week but I imagine it's as good as the iX at the very least. But we'll see when I get to it.

The good news is that you have 2-3 years to find that 70k!
At least AFAIK, the waitlist for this thing is double digits and if you're on the bottom end of that list you're gonna be waiting until 2024 at the earliest. 😔
Can someone help me design a logo? I have the basis for it and what I'd like modified. I just can't use photoshop for shit.
As you can tell, because I still call it "photoshop."

No one really makes a logo using Photoshop lol. I mean you can but it's a bit impractical as it's not vector-based(aka it's not scalable so you can't make it bigger).
Adobe Illustrator is where it's at and has been for the last 15+ years or so.
Slide in my DMs, I'll see what I can do.

Yeah, Illustrator. That's the one haha. To me it's all Photoshop, that's how out of touch I am with creative software

By Celcius Go To PostHow much longer are car prices going to be inflated? Rest of the year at least?
Rest of your life probably.
By Patriotism Go To PostRest of your life probably.Ironically, with as little as I drive due to WFH nowadays my car could probably last the rest of my life lol (2010 Camry with just under 130k miles)
Hey all. Been lurking for a while and enjoying all your posts. Figured I'd start posting a little. I do have a question though.
What are your favorite YouTube channels to for car content? I've been watch Gears and Gasoline recently along with Donut Media. I'm open to any variety of channels. Thanks in advance!

By Celcius Go To PostI enjoy watching Doug DemuroSeems like a nice guy but I get anxiety when watching him speak, it's like he never takes a breath or inhales, it's wild.
By otaku_derek Go To PostHey all. Been lurking for a while and enjoying all your posts. Figured I'd start posting a little. I do have a question though.I honestly don't watch any on the regular. Usually just go searching for my favorite cars or random topics that I am thinking about. Get a different guy for every video, just about. lol

Whichever is in 4K on the specific car that I’m looking at
You say any variety, so I do watch The Detail Geek, it’s about car detailing. Super repetitive as it’s just him cleaning dirty ass cars and there’s not much different between each video. I just enjoy watching cars look like they haven’t been cleaned once since they were purchased and end up looking brand new

That sounds relaxing to me. I remember watching one that was linked in here a while ago.
Edit: Found it.

I honestly dislike most of the Youtube car guys. So many of them are just obnoxious, smarmy attention whores. I really like the small or tiny channels where it's not some slick shit with ads and a ridealong with the doucheTuber's ego, and it's actually an enthusiast doing something, experimenting with something, or doing in-cockpit views of track days.

Bruv, no.
Idk how people like Doug. YouTube pushes him since he’s the biggest I guess..but his videos are terrible and his persona is grating

he's a millionaire
somebody likes him
"THIS is a 2013 Ford Fiesta"
He's also entirely wrong on cars way too often even when the feature is staring him right in the face
By Lunatic Go To PostNah he just isn't technical enough for car enthusiasts. he is basic as fuck.Well that's true, but for general car audience he's a fine option

His shtick about quirks and features was cool at first but it got stale, his format needed changing. THIS.
Yep, the quirks and features thing lost its charm when he started reaching too hard to call something a quirk.
And yeah, as Reilo said, he's reviewed cars I've owned/own and goddamn does he got lots of shit wrong.

Friend of a friend took delivery of a SF90 Spider…apparently there’s only 3 in the US rn?
That thing looks insane in person jfc

The thing about Doug is that his videos, for better or worse, work.
We recently had the new Range Rover at a private preview event with LR reps on-site and I somehow got into the convo about Doug coz I was asking if the car we had on-site is the same one that Doug previewed(they wouldn't confirm it but I'm pretty sure it was) and I also asked if they see any benefits from having Doug do really early previews of cars and they said that his video generated around 500 new leads(aka new people who've never bought any Rover before) within 48 hours of it releasing. 500 doesn't seem much for sure but IIRC there are only 170-ish LR dealerships all over the USA so that's 2-3 extra sold cars per dealership assuming equal distribution and the chip shortage didn't exist.
His vids definitely don't work for enthusiasts (tho tbh I enjoy it as lunch or toilet fodder) but for the manufacturer marketing departments, he's probably as good as they come and doesn't really cost them anything so he'll probably be here to stay unless Cars & Bids really takes off and kills Bring a Trailer.
Savagegeese IMO is the best damn car reviews channel on YouTube. It's full of nerdy technical details most won't care about and they've got a really huge enthusiast slant. SG's technical details + The Smoking Tire's driving impressions are the best combo to really get a decent picture of how a car is without test driving it yourself.
Anyway, what are y'all thoughts on the GR Corolla?
300hp AWD and 6MT only.
No pricing yet unfortunately but if it's under $35k with no dealer markups then say goodbye to the Type R, Golf R and the Elantra N I guess lol.

The GR Corolla looks great! Might have to tempt the wife into making it her next car if the price is decent.
