But you are buying a house? I would imagine that would be apart of your plan. EVs are great for putting around town and in stop go traffic.
Ideally I want a proper station wagon (hence Panamera Sport Turismo) but they are so far and few in-between. The A6 All-Road counts but what I truly want is an S6 Avant.
There's also so many SUVs/CUVs nowadays that it's fucking confusing. A BMW X2/X4 style car is an insult to humanity because they are four-door coupes in size and utility but just sit higher. It's dumb as all hell.
And there's SO MANY of them from each manufactuer, yet barely and proper wagons. The gap is Subaru Outback / Volkswagen Golf Wagon (< $30k) -> V60 Cross Country / A6 Allroad ($60-70k) -> Panamera Sport Turismo / RS6 Avant ($120-150k). That's it? Wtf?

Brain dump: you know what, I'll look into an A6 Avant. It's not an RS6 but it does check all the boxes. Prob lease it.
The West Virginia Automobile Dealer's Association (WVADA) wants OEMs to get all the way off its back about, well, seemingly everything. The WVADA confirmed to The Drive that it "helped introduce" bill HB 4560 to the state legislature, 32 pages and more than 14,000 words outlining what West Virginia dealers don't want manufacturers to be able to tell them to do. HB 4560 seemingly covers every aspect of the OEM-dealer relationship, seeking to prevent OEMs from mandating costly facility upgrades more often than dealers want, to prevent OEMs from cutting allocations for reasons dealers aren't happy with, to prevent OEMs from auditing warranty work compensation more than 12 months after work was done, and making sure OEMs pay dealers for the cost of providing loaner vehicles at the dealer's regular rate, and so on.
But one paragraph in the bill is a watershed provision OEMs do not want to let set a precedent: The WVADA wants to eliminate over-the-air updates.
The language also wants to eliminate manufacturers taking reservations for vehicles, or offering demonstrations and test drives. HB 4560 goes so far that it effectively says to automakers, "Anything that involves your vehicles and our customers has to go through us, except software changes to the infotainment system. Otherwise, have our money ready when we say so."Car dealers are scum. Why are they still a thing? Anti-consumer af.

They literally just shot themselves in the foot.
Rivian increased the estimated prices of its R1T electric pickup and R1S electric SUV this week by up to 20 percent, as reported by TechCrunch. The company is applying the new estimates to new orders and changing them for reservation holders who don’t yet have a vehicle entering production.
The quad-motor configuration of the R1T with 314 miles of range used to start at $67,500, but now that price point will only get you a dual-motor and standard battery pack configuration — which won’t be available until 2024. The quad-motor configurations now start at $79,500 for the R1T and $84,500 for the R1S (originally $70,000).

The 570S is the best car I've ever owned, hands down. The laughs this car gives me, it is absolutely pure joy. I am in love with it. Selling 2 cars for just this 1 was absolutely the right move.

Rivian apologizes for ‘broken trust’ and axes preorder price increases that hit as much as $20K
That Rivian thing is disgusting. You'd think they'd know better but here we are. Still would love to have an electric truck but it certainly hasn't gotten any easier to justify.
Wow, I'm a jackass
1. Sold the F-Type and Camry in prep for the East Coast move.
2. Initially I explored ordering a new Panamera Sport Turismo. It was a toss-up between fully optioned 4S vs a GTS. Eventually I backed off because it was pushing $140k and I just didn't want to go that far. Porsche dealer promised me not to charge over MSRP on a factory order.
3. I really wanted to consider out an RS6 Avant but their markup is insane right now.
4. At some point I convinced myself that leasing a Mazda CX-5 was the go-to
5. But then I started thinking and it was hard to go back to that so then I explored an F-Pace, Velar, A6 Allroad...
6. But having driven my in-laws fully loaded GLS450 it was even more evident that I just do not like SUVs. They just drive too high, are mad floaty, big as hell, and the practicality of it is 95% of the time not utilized
7. So in the end, I found a fully loaded 2018 CPO Porsche Panamera 4S Sport Turismo. I am going to pick it ip tomorrow after signing the paper work.
And I mean FULLY LOADED:
Sport Package with Sport Chrono, rear axle steering, sport exhaust
Premium Package Plus with Sports Seats
ParkAssist
Ventilated Seats
Soft Close Door
Like I said, jackass, but I'm happy

Yea SUVs are trash to drive. I hate it. My wife wants our next car to be either an SUV/truck because she thinks it’s safer.
They're trash for everyone else that has to drive with them on the road. Vehicles made for men with small dicks or as a car for their wives in the hopes they don't cheat because of said small dick.

First of all, easy on the small dick banter, this isn't footy
But on the subject on safety, there's no way a 5000-6000lb thing hurling at 60mph with a high center of gravity will be safer than a 3500lb sedan. It's just simple dumb physics.
Speaking of, the new Hummer EV is 9300lbs because America is stupid.

sorry mate i get heated over SUVs. 90% of near misses and potential accidents on my drives are caused by people who don't know how to drive them, plus they always fucking tailgate. Curse on the road.

Yesterday, I went for a short joy ride in the Cayman because it had just been a while and I needed to get out the house for a bit after a couple awfully stressful work weeks. Kicked it into sport mode, turned on sport suspension, rolled down the windows, turned the A/C off (wonderful weather), and turned up the music.
Man, just cruising down some gentle curves with the occasional roundabout and stop sign. Made me miss the backroads back home a lot, but it still felt good. Having the sport seats hug my body when I'm going through those roundabouts faster than I probably should was wonderful.
I know everyone hates the sound of the 718 turbo engine, but it still sounds good enough to me from inside the car and provided enough rumble to excite me to drive quicker and more aggressive than I normally do.
One day, I just need to take this thing to a track or take a vacation at one of the Porsche driving schools and go through their lessons to just really go all out.

That's the one thing that really impressed me about the Panamera, too. All of those characteristics you're outlining are evident in the car.
The seating position? Perfection.
The steering wheel? Perfection.
And unlike many other cars *cough*Audi RS5 which has the same engine*cough* there's a very very distinct difference in character between the different driving modes.
Normal truly is comfortable, smooth, but still responsive. It feels like you're just in a nice luxury vehicle.
But switch it to Sport? Completely different animal. It's much more responsive, great throttle feel, the exhaust starts to purr, you can feel the air suspension lowering and you feel immediately more connected.
And the crazy thing? Sport+ is a level in addition to where it just goes to 11.
It's hard to explain until you drive a Porsche (I've also driven a 991 Turbo, which was that on steroids) to truly experience it. BMW, Mercedes, etc just don't have it.
The F-Type came close but it's much more of a grand tourer. It's a different class all together.

I have spent more time than I'd like to admit trying to find the absolute perfect seat height, distance from pedals, backrest angle. steering wheel angle, and steering wheel distance to my body than I'd like to admit. lol
But I have found a combination that, when I'm sitting with a healthy and relaxed posture, will leave me comfortable for a long time while also being able to reach everything easily and making sure my eyes are focused on the road in front of me.
There was a lot more to getting things setup in an ergonomic way than I thought, tbh. Hand level, eye level, elbow angle, knee angle, etc.
e: It's ergonomic nerd shit, but it keeps my body loose and comfortable, no matter the style of driving I'm doing.
e2: also, if i ever get a car that i expect to share driving duties on with someone else, i will have to make room in the budget for that electronic memory setting shit for that stuff

It is a scenic highway with no traffic signs or lights and usually light, if any, traffic. On one side of the road is a winding river and the other are woods and swamp.
I know that kind of scenery isn't to everyone's liking, but to me, it's beautiful and has me feeling happier and more content than any other scenery I've been around.

Loads of roads to turn off, loads of hills and bends to hit, mostly 60mph limit with the occasional 30mph/40mph as you hit the little villages any of the routes through. The further south you take it, the more hilly it gets. Not unusual for me to grab a coffee after the gym and hit the area for an hour and a half.
Can't wait for the heat to come back. the lads at Jag, Aston Martin and Lotus who get to test drive upcoming models are spoilt, I tell you.

Thanks bros. The car is fantastic. What incredible driving dynamics.
My gripe, as with buying any 3-4+ year old used car these days, is that you will undoubtedly suffer from a last gen infotainment system.
HOWEVER, the version from this Panamera is pretty damn good. It suffers from slow bootup and some fidelity issues from the screen not having the best that higher-end panels with great pixel density offers these days, but it's decently laid out/configurable, quite responsive, and most importantly it has CarPlay so I don't even need to worry about using stock apps like navigation.
I couldn't have asked for a better daily though. It's loaded with amenities and creature comforts, handles NYC roads extremely well, the seats are extremely comfortable yet sporty, and its got the right amount of utility to boot.
I also think it is a stunner especially in Sport Turismo.

It looks phenomenal in red.
The Mazda CX-60 is here, and while it looks like a typical Mazda SUV, it's much more than that. It's the first model to feature Mazda's long-awaited rear-drive platform. It also is Mazda's first plug-in hybrid model to go on sale, and it will eventually get Mazda's inline-six engines.Mazda is going upscale, for real this time.
