FWIW, the initiative that started it had the goal of doing something by 2050. So I've got a good thirty years to make an impact with it. I say something because the company is already carbon neutral, the fuck else is there to do?
Finally got hit by one of them database breaches. Was only a matter of time. Went unscathed too long.

By data Go To PostOn a non-food/work related aside,
I'm trying not to dump all of my personal problems in here because it can be exhausting to put on other people, but I just want to say that I really appreciate having this place. I've had some psychological things flare up again very recently, and it's nice to have somewhere online to help out and get help with. I've never really had that, especially online. Like this is the only place I've posted at where I've thought that I would be willing to meet people who post here. So hopefully everyone has some good and safe holidays.
a few of us have met. i have hung out with dr blade and lord kibner
legend has it there was supposedly a slaent meetup in cali some time ago
keep telling u to come thru to texas
My students had their final today. Got the inevitable crying e-mail asking for curving. It’s always uncomfortable, I never know what to say.
On a lighter note, one of the students in a different section wrote “I didn’t know how to solve it fam” for one of the questions.

If I'm ever in Houston I need you to help me find my own Megan.
Aren't Internet meetups awkward? "Hey I'm so and so, but my real name is so forth. Oh, that's you? Yeah, nice, I like your posts. You had a good take on so on and such. Alright, well. See you on the forum, unless you want to hang out whenever you're in this part of LA, but uh"
Like is that close to how it goes?

Uh oh
I mean that's one of the reasons I never even considered going to GAF ones lol, I was sure it would be that for thirty minutes until I couldn't take it anymore. But I do expect the catastrophic by default

I would assume meetups are pretty fun and easy to just chat with others. Everyone has pretty much the same common interests, so would be a great starting point.
By Kibner Go To PostAn internet meetup at a video game convention is how I met my current GF of over a year.Congrats!

I've usually only made actual friendships from school or work when you can actually get to know people over time. Hitting it off immediately is great when it happens

A lot of us have known and talked to each other for years, and have common interests.

internet meetups are cool, my first couple of ones were 'what the fuck do i do' but even my introvert ass can handle them

the first internet meetup i had was at a music festival. It was pretty cool getting drunk and having a party with the lads.

We're gonna get some rain around Christmas but it's currently in the mid to high 60's here and will be for another week. Still no earthquakes.

If I get anything I WANT it's either from before 87 or after 2016. I'm not particularly excited about getting something cheap again. Maybe I'll lease something

I would love to one day own a modified car from the 60's. Something with a new motor dropped in, that sits in a new drive train and has disk breaks. Basically modern reliability and driving but with the classic look and feel.

You realize that reilo, a degenerate, is vexed and perturbed by the idea of restoration projects which emphasize and celebrate the glory of American engineering? You will surely draw his ire for your views.
lol I could have the above GTO with modern internals, I would drive that over any BMW, Benz or Jag. Classic cars ooooooze style.
