By Facism Go To Posti beat a revenant and he dropped 2 purples for an armour set im usingMan, I get fuck all from them
Forged a few pieces of a set, but using my blue materials since the purples will presumably be needed late game
What do the 5 swords mean before you summon a Revenant? And what are the glory points for?
Co-worker of mine pre-ordered via Amazon Prime, they sent him an email saying it'll now ship somewhere between March and April. He cancels the pre-order, goes to a Gamestop and they are sold out as well. Looks like demand is outstripping supply.
By n8 dogg Go To PostI want this game even though the armour sets look disgustingJust find the one you like most and refashion all of the statistically best stuff to look like it.
Just finished the tutorial level.
Still a bit of muscle memory carried over from the souls games I have to shed regarding controls but other than that so far so good.

Man, soul-matching suddenly got too expensive for me :(
Gonna have to go back to mix and matching my gear soon

Should I worry about the blacksmith functions this early in the game? I don't really understand all that she can do even after having it explained :lol
By il Diavolo Go To PostShould I worry about the blacksmith functions this early in the game? Forge - Make gear, chances of it being good depend on the quality of the materials you make it from
Soul match - Raise the level of a piece of gear, by using a higher level piece as an ingredient. Resets familiarity.
Refashion - Change the appearance of a piece of gear. No preview function unfortunately :(
Reforge - Change a bonus for a piece of gear. For example if you never use high stance but its one of the bonuses for a sword you like, you can select it and it'll hopefully change to something more useful to you.
Be careful though, the prices go up the higher level the gear is it seems, I didn't realise until I'd blown most of my gold on minor unnecessary upgrades. Early on you'll probably be finding better weapons and armour at a rate that makes upgrading it a bit pointless. Can quite easily just leave it until you find something you wanna stick with. For example an elemental weapon, or a set of armour with bonuses for wearing more than one piece of it.

Yeah I've been collecting a ton of loot and swapping out equipment. Been using a lightning sword that I found and fell in love with and haven't been having too much trouble.

Just finished the first twilight level. The combat feels so good. Getting into a rhythm and using ki pulse to string together attacks makes you feel like a fucking badass.
Protip
Don't try to save-scum when Forging
It autosaves. Wasted my Great Centipede Fang and some high quality materials :(

Accidentally doing a boss without finding all the Kodama's first is a pain in the arse. Have to restart the level to sweep up.
Christ, the Nue in region 3 is no joke. The arena is so small compared to the one earlier in the game. Got a couple of sub-missions, then onto region 4.
Been using low stance for so long that I can't deal with moving even to mid-stance, it feels so slow.

I've never bothered with low stance, depending on the situation I switch between mid and high. The katana's high stance somersault is absolutely devastating, it's my go-to combo to fuck revenants.
I think I might stop doing the side-missions because I still think they're mostly trash and I'm pretty sure they'll just burn me out the game

Soul matching gets obscenely expensive. Have to pay attention or else I'll blow all my cash.
Are you guys dabbling at all with the ninjitsu/onmyo stuff? Thinking I might start sinking some points into magic to mix it up.

I use ninjitsu in for form of poison shurikens, the poison weapon buff and blister-beetle throwables. Have Lightning/Fire/Water onmyo magics readied, too.

only 10. I use the magics if i want to low-stance nuke a status effect onto an enemy. Fighting those boggle-eyed tongue things usually ends up with poison, fire etc leading to a confused before they're dead.
You find so many onmyo mage locks it's crazy. sitting on 21 unused points right now.

By Hitch Go To PostOut of elixirs, only getting 4 as my base number
Only new mission is level 78, I'm level 76 :(
i use the elixir drop rate kodama blessing. Never short, always have about 15-20 in storage.

I quite like the side missions, as by the numbers as they are
this castle filled with traps level is absolutely incredible. Probably the first I'm genuinely enjoying
By Hitch Go To PostI had 40 in storage until an optional Onrikyo fight :(I LOVE the unique ones like that one with the bridge between worlds, the one with the tall grass and the co-op mission....but the recycled ones where you play the exact same level can do one.

By il Diavolo Go To PostThat snow level was shit. Absolute nightmare to navigate.it really was :lol but they made up for it with the boss fight at least
I reckon the castle level is gonna be hard to top as my personal favourite
Not enjoying the Revenant fights anymore
Not sure if its because I'm using low-stance katana, but its impossible to get them into a position where you can do a proper combo on them. Even if you hit them in the back, they teleport to face you and are blocking again. Most effective strategy I've found is to just block a hit, and use the window of them recoiling to get a single hit in.

dodge and block a few of their hits till you feel that you could wreck their stamina in one big blow
the mid-stance combo that ends with the kick is pretty great too since it takes away most of their stamina
the last three levels (and bosses) that I played last night were all really fun!
By Facism Go To PostI just use the r1 hold circle charge. Not worth fighting revenants normallyOh man but I love fighting themmmm
what builds are you guys going with?
I made an OP one by sheer accident. Just unlocked Sword of Execution (increases damage dealt when attacking from behind with a sword) and I'm already wearing loads of +damage from behind stuff :lol
all I need to do is basically dash behind them and BAM!

Same as always, baby's first Souls build. Katana, medium everything, points spread everywhere.
Uma Bozo or whatever its name is is a shit fight. No two ways about it.

yeah the earlier bosses were all quite disappointing...
the humanoid ones though, whew <3
spear build, p much dumping everything into body and stam with a little in dex and skill to use decent gear
just hit the mines
just hit the mines
Started using a Spear so I can do the Dojo mastery duel, and get the mystic art. Hitting a wall makes me sad :(
Got the axe mystic art, do they carry across to all weapons unless specified? I'm sure I was getting the sword's back damage bonus with the axe, but I had the sword in my other inventory slot.
The axe absolutely destroys revenants btw. Even when they guard it tears through their Ki, it stunlocks like a beast, and the grapple damage is huge. Don't like using it low-stance though, since the opening hit of the combo is so weak.

Just got to region 5. Think I'm gonna co-op a bit before I move forward with the main quest.
Does anyone know how you earn patronage points for the blacksmith?

Saika Magoichi was the first genuine wall in terms of difficulty. Kept trying to brute force him before realizing patience and timing was key. Didn't help having to do that god forsaken run through the burning palace every time I died. Would end up flustered before even having reached the fight :lol
Not a fan of these post-game sub missions
Thought this'd be a game that I Platinum and keep on playing after completing it, but think I might be done.
Put 70 or so hours into it, great game.
edit: oh good, the post-game main mission also asks you to fight multiple powerful enemies at once
Fuck this.

Finished.
The final boss wasn't so bad. Usually the bigger bosses are more of a pushover and that holds true here.
Had a great time with it overall. The side missions were mostly recycled crap, but the core combat held it all together.

By Hitch Go To PostPost game is too hard for me :(How far into it are you? I'm currently getting my ass handed to me on two kings :/
Anyone wanna do some co-op for NG+?
By il Diavolo Go To PostHow far into it are you? I'm currently getting my ass handed to me on two kings :/Done a few of the easier NG+ missions, and trying to get powerful enough to do those last 2 sub-missions
Might respec for sword damage, its the weapon I like most, I've already got all the mystic arts and barely use Ninjitsu or Onmyo magic
The Two Kings is painful, might end up having to cheese it by going behind the rock. I can get Munishege down to about half health, but can't help getting greedy when he leaves an opening and getting killed.
NG+ really seems to be a case of pulling enemies to make sue you're fighting one-on-one. The bridge-boss now has a very powerful Tengu with him though, so fuck that.
Got this a few days ago.
Seem to be blitzing through the bosses (just beat the third boss Nue - I don't know whether it's due to the game being easier than Dark Souls and BB or I'm just more accustomed to the genre now. I'm expecting this to rapidly change soon, though.
Have to say I'm loving it so far. Always have an urge to go back on it about 30 minutes after I've stopped playing it.

also got it a few days ago but only really got into it today, beat the 2nd boss on the boat and did the side mission
combat is amazing, game runs like butter on normal ps4, but the most surprising thing for me is just how dope the loot system is, been getting addicted to just killing enemies to see if i get a better sword

you will grow to hate the loot
there's too much of it
fuck the loot
By s y Go To Posthow come this game doesn't have col armor like bloodborne? ;(
Shinobi set. or the backstab set, idk its name, but it looks cool as fuck.

Wish you could automatically replace set gear with the highest level stuff you have, and send the rest into a junk category from which you choose which pieces to sell, offer or dismantle
