The Rock is about to be in a Rampage adaptation next year. It's in post production. LOL
Yeah, that Rampage. Trailer.
The last good movie he was in was San Andreas. That movie is kind of intense though. I don't think I could watch it again.

By The Kree Go To PostThe last good movie he was in was San Andreas.hey i love Alexandra Daddario too, but that was not a good movie.
Yea, San Andreas fucking sucked. Back when I worked in a concentration camp and they allowed is to watch the TV, people would rather focus on their work.
By The Kree Go To PostIt was better than Con Air.As far as quality of film, yeah maybe. Con Air kinda has that entertaining schlock factor though.
Con Air has John Malkovich.
edit: Had to check and make sure Malkovich hadn't been accused of anything recently. He seems clear...for now.

He said good movie.
By DY_nasty Go To PostWhy is it so hard to make an action movieBecause action movies don't know what they want to be these days.
I maintain that everybody trying to write an action movie should go study Predator to get a master class in the genre. It's basically the perfect action film.

A lot of them are trying to be everything to everybody because they keep getting more and more expensive.
You'd think they would start taking lessons from John Wick or The Raid by now. There are actors who will do the training if you just give them the time to work.

Yo the thing I really loved most about John Wick 2 was how they were still using these old legacy technology hardware pieces of equipment to run their fun little secret society of assassins. I guess the theory behind it being that if it ain't broke don't fix it, or if it works then it works best, or whatever.
But I mean they had the details right down to where they were using those Mad Men style secretaries in a backroom office just patching calls through on old circuit switched wiring and stuff I guess, and they were even using handwritten double entry bookkeeping in ledgers to track bounties and shit. It was just really crazy to see and yet somehow still believable and I'll always remember John Wick 2 for that.

By s y Go To PostThe first Bourne movie is better than any James Bond film.
Spy is better than the last Bourne movie.
Let that sink in.
By The Kree Go To PostSpy is better than the last Bourne movie.no need to let it sink in. spy was fun. last few bourne movies are trash.
Let that sink in.
I would rather watch Bond jump away from angry alligators, then need a power level of 1 million to be able to follow the action in that first Bourne movie.
By Smoke Dogg Go To PostCon Air also has the best soundtrack too. That wasn't Leann Rimes version in the film though. She recorded the song intending for it to be in the film but producers were wary of having a 14 year old sing a song about the subject matter. So they had it re-done by another singer.
That Leann Rimes song.
Whew.
Like if you don't think Casino Royale is one of the great action movies, then you a fool.
Bourne movies are really simple in comparison, and I like all of them except the Renner and most recent one.

Someone on Twitter mentioned Jon Hamm for Bruce Wayne and that sounds kind of like it would work to me. But then he might look hilarious in the bat suit.
Also, I've never really understood why Die Hard 2 gets such shit. That's a very watchable sequel to an original that I consider the perfect action film. The third movie is also fine on its own as well. Everything after the third is terrible and I'm actually in the crowd for one scene in the fourth film.

By DY_nasty Go To Postim eh on all the craig filmsNaw, the action, the character deconstruction with Craig bringing a ton of charm for the first iteration, the cinematography, Mads Mikkelsen, the beginning parkour chase, all of Montenegro, and the Venice house scene are all great top-notch stuff.
eva green making things awesome is what you're witnessing here
Then you add Eva Green on top of that as a great foil to Craig's Bond? GOAT.

Then you add Eva Green on top of that as a great foil to Craig's Bond? GOAT.
only thing missing was eva green. wasn't all that impressed
the actual bond stuff was cool. casino's, talking shit, etc. but the action? i didn't miss anything.
By DY_nasty Go To Postshe even made an inferior 300 goodThere is no wrong opinions... except this one.
There's no way anyone can claim that movie is good.
The scene where Craig is tied naked in the chair is hilarious in tone and really sets the mood for his version of the character. Casino is his only good Bond film though. The rest are bad to forgettable.
Skyfall is not a bad Bond movie, how dare you. It's got problems, but it's still top-notch, especially the Scotland act. Quantum of Solace was severely hampered by the WGA Strike at the time, and it shows.
QoS still has the Opera scene though, too.

So they had it re-done by another singer.Ah, yes, thanks for letting me know. No wonder I was always confused about whether it was a Leann Rimes song or a Trisha Yearwood song, and I kind of just assumed that that was a country music thing to do, like Garth Brooks singing a Blake Shelton song cuz they are just boys or something.
Con Air is still a great action film, ya'll can rag on it all you want but I'd rank it up with any modern action movie.
Great villains, Cage at his best, well shot action only the hyping of John Cusack brings it down a little but he was adequate in it.

Found The Rock pretty underwhelming when I watched it a few months ago. I remembered it as being far better than it is.
Commando will always be the GOAT. That film is legitimately a triumph of how close to sattire you can get before you go too far.

Bad Boys II is Bay's best film. I say that both ironically and unironically. I think its an underrated action classic.

The shower scene with that excellent musical component, the hopelessness, terriffic.
The minecart scene was a little to goofy but as a whole, We Got Green Smoke YO !
