By LFMartins86 Go To PostThere won't be a S4. The whole thing was a massive failure for Showtime.I don't think so. It didn't have great ratings but the Showtime CEO (or maybe CBS) came out and said it was a big driver of subscriptions for the channel, which is what a premium, ad-free cable network wants. It was a low budget project and, while maybe not a runaway success, I don't think you can call it a massive failure.
For a lot of reasons, I don't think another season is likely, but I'm hoping at least that we'll see another film from Lynch.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostMany people wanted more "horrible crime in a small town" but they got Lynch unchained, which isn't for everyone. That's where I was at. I wanted Season 1 and instead I got Fire Walk With Me
The whole Devin Faraci has gotten help for his alcoholism stuff is so laughable if you followed film critic Jen Yamato on IG anytime this summer. She's posted stories of her and Devin drinking and getting trashed at parties. Some of them within the last month.
nae sure about mother!
the oppressive, claustrophobic lawrence-cam made for, as per its design, a right fuckin paranoid, uncomfortable watch
but instead of nestling within the absurd and unnerving - verged on the comically ludicrous too often for me liking
but as a biblical parable, a environmental comment - as studiable piece of text to chew over it twas a cracker. slots into the silence-zone for me; a right meaty, substantive slab of film but something I want to rewatch? probs not
but then again think that says more about the films i like
some folk will think this is better than bradford city's carling cup run and can see why

By LFMartins86 Go To Postmother! is bombing at the box office, it's expected to do 8M$ in it's opening weekend.Yiiiiiiiikes. What was the budget?
By s y Go To PostYiiiiiiiikes. What was the budget?30M$ is what has been reported.
By LFMartins86 Go To Post30M$ is what has been reported.Oof. Not surprised though. I haven't seen any marketing material for it and the only reason I knew about its existence was because I checked Arronofsky's IMDB page.
By Rhaegar Jergaryen Go To PostIt's almost like no one cares about JLaw and she was only popular because of Hunger GamesDon't think JLaw is the problem. Marketing hasn't been great and word of mouth is terrible.

The movie has an F cinemascore. No amount of marketing would have saved it then add in JLaw not being a draw. Boom failure

damn..
Mexican location scout Carlos Muñoz Portal was shot to death in a violent region in central Mexico Monday while scouting for season four of Netflixâs hit show âNarcos.â The seasoned scout, who worked for Stacy Perskieâs Mexico City-based production company Redrum, has a slew of high profile credits to his name, including, âSicario,â âSpectre,â âFast & Furiousâ and âApocalypto.â
damn..
^ sad news.
IT was a mixed bag. Very well acted across the board, with some really charismatic and naturalistic performances and some nice stock characterisation applied pretty decently. Looks pretty good and the pacing in the first half is well measured.
However, its a real prisoner of its genre. So many jump 'scares' (maybe it would have been more effective if I had ever jumped at one of them; I don't recall one ever working on me), such a large amount of generic cliched music and sound design, and a real case of diminishing returns when it comes to Pennywise. He does literally fuck all after the first five minutes. Its just endless bait and switch.
Just made me pine for Fukunaga's version.

also, I knew Narcos was eventually going to MĂ©xico (and Central America I guess), but for some reason I feel it won't have the charm of being done in Colombia.

Idk Mexico has some pretty charming places. There's a good chance the show gets grimy as fuck because what happens in Mexico is nuts

I hate stories that are just twitter reactions.
mother! didn't even reach 8M$, projection has it at 7.5M$ but the actuals tomorrow could be lower.
It had another stellar weekend with 60M$, which funnily enough was what most projections 3 weeks thought it would do on it's opening weekend, not on it's second weekend.
Breaking The Passion Of Christ's R Rated Domestic record (370M$) is still a possibility.

By Elchele Go To Posthow much did they spent to make mother!?
Wiki says 30m
Yeah, that what has been reported. They would need to make around 60-70M$ to get back those 30M$ and that is looking unlikely as it only made 13M$ worldwide so far. Even with some markets yet to open, even 50M$ is looking like a stretch at this point.
It is the continuation of horrible year for Paramount as almost all of their movies flopped.

By Rhaegar Jergaryen Go To PostI keep forgetting that I have Wild Tales. I'll watch it this weekThink there was too much hype around it, here in Argentina. Still a good film.
You should try and watch XXY (2007). Film about an intersexual teenager. The director is one of my favorites in Argentina

Fire whoever did the comp work on that shit.
So she'll have a bow and rock axe like the new game. Is this based on the theme of the reboots? What are they up to three now? I've only played the first one which I thought was just awful.
