By livefromkyoto Go To PostI don't quite get this…presumably you'd want to own the system throughout its lifespan, not just the first month it's on the market. It's 2017, if I can't buy something with ease I'm not going to bother. I'm not trying to be in a NES Classic situation.

Sure, but presumably it will be available with ease at some point in the near future, if not at launch. I don't quite get why you'd never buy it just because you couldn't day one.
And I say this as a guy who due to time constraints should never buy one ever.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostThe 2 million number was global:Looks like Europe launch was right at the end of that (14 days after NA) and included in that but not Japan

(One of those was mine)

Yeah, you're right. I forgot they delayed the Japanese launch into oblivion because nothing was ready:
NA: November 15, 2013
EU: November 29, 2013
JP: February 22, 2014
Okay. The launchocalypse is back on, pending people wanting this thing as much as the PS4.
By p s y Go To PostIs Zelda at launch?
We won't know until the presentation. Most recent rumours say yes.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostSure, but presumably it will be available with ease at some point in the near future, if not at launch. I don't quite get why you'd never buy it just because you couldn't day one.Mainly bc I see how my brothers are with new sneaker releases and that shit is dumb, having like 5 devices in front of their face, constantly checking every day if they're going to be re-stocked to repeat the same process.
And I say this as a guy who due to time constraints should never buy one ever.
If I can't buy something when I want it, I'll just move onto something else. There's way too many products in this world, let me give you my money when I want to or I'll spend that money on another hobby.
If I can easily preorder a Switch on Amazon with no hassle and get Zelda and Splatoon then I might buy one
but the second there's any sort of 'oh you have to be on for this hour to order one' Nintendo-esque bullshit then I'm out. That's what completely killed my interest in ever buying a classic. It's 2017 yall.
like the second they put a hoop up 'nah'

Haven't had a Nintendo console since the SNES but I'm weirdly interested in this.
Don't think I would use it undocked outside the house but a low launch price might make me bite at some point.

By Moris Go To Posttime to get disappointedNintendo fans are a flat circle
By p s y Go To Postah god, $300 for zelda.
spot me dipro-chan
sure.
By Dipro Go To PostI like the system. It's cool.i mean the only thing i actually want from the conference is Mother 3 so I expect a waste of time
Prepare to be disappointed though.
I forgot that we had someone here who actually works for Nintendo. That's cool.
My hopes are not very high so I don't know how I would be disappointed. If it is disappointing then I can just wait to purchase it 4 years down the road just like I did with the PlayStation 3. I still would not own a PlayStation 4 if it were not for my mom's generosity this Christmas.
Back in the nineties I said I would not play Pokemon unless Nintendo released a full-fledged Pokemon game on consoles. Not pokken tournament or snap or any of that. I'm talking like sun and moon on the 3DS. And I am still committed to that.

Did the super game boy and Gameboy advance player not count as close enough to a console for you?
:v I kid, I kid.

In that situation I'd say just forget it altogether, it sounds like it's getting sucked into hype more than really wanting the product. I mean, it's your money do what you want, but I hate getting sucked into a thing and having it stare back at me for years as a pile of wasted hundreds. Especially a gaming console that sits there making me feel like I have x number of hours that I have to play to clear my backlog.
By Smokey Go To Postchecking in to bring yall down to reality
I'm betting it still sees better exclusives on launch day than Scorpio gets in its lifetime.

The store in the image had 38. That's more systems than any GameStop had in my city for the ps4 launch

Not to mention the $50 shows the guy who said Nintendo themselves were demanding $100 down across the board was talking out his ass.
By masud Go To PostKyoto how are you not going to have a link to the stream in the op? Get it together man.jfc Kyoto what do we pay you for?
By masud Go To PostAlmost Nintendo time yall.
The stream has a dj as a lead-in to the presentation and this gif is dancing perfectly in time with it. It's eerie.
By FootballFan Go To PostWelcome back
What are you looking forward to
zelda, mario, splatoon 2
Honestly Mario and Zelda at launch would have been too much for me. Gotta let those kinds of games breathe.
